Sulfosulfuron showed the highest degree of nutsedge control after the first application among all of the treatments at 4 WAT. Nutsedge control began to decline at 6 WAT after a single application of sulfosulfuron. Halosulfuron, trifloxysulfuron, and penoxulam showed very good nutsedge control at 2 WAT after a second application was made. Trifloxysulfuron at 0.026 lb AI/A and penoxulam at 0.125 lb AI/A performed very similarly to halosulfuron at 0.047 and 0.062 lb AI/A. Two field experiments were established in Bowling Green, KY to evaluate various nitrogen fertilizer rates and timing applications to examine the effects on growth and yield of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa). Pyroxasulfone is a VLCFA inhibitor labeled to control grasses and small-seeded broadleaf weeds. Little information is available regarding this herbicide being applied postemergence. Two field experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of pyroxasulfone used postemergence. Pyroxasulfone applied to 2-leaf wheat controlled up to 83% of the green foxtail but had little to no effect on broadleaves. Atrazine is the active compound of herbicides, considered as a potent endocrine disruptor, causing various reproductive disorders in males. The mechanism of action of atrazine is not completely determined, but in vitro studies have demonstrated that atrazine induces the RNAm expression and activity of aromatase, the enzyme that converts androgens to estrogens. In addition, was demonstrated in vivo the negative impact of atrazine in the expression of the steroidogenic enzyme 3-HSD in the testis. Willd.); the Bush Ranch in Goliad County, and the Hitchcock Ranch in Bee County. Canada fleabane is the second glyphosate-resistant (GR) weed species to be confirmed in Ontario. In 2010, GR populations were identified at eight sites in Essex County.
