Full textThe Hunter, The Animal Languages and The Three Languages (also called, in English, The Boy who learned many things, or Vaticinium), tales of oral literature, form, when one considers ail of them in one look, a kind of triptych of male initiation. Offering us complementary points of view on the rites of passage which lead little boys to maturity, they inform us about quite a few popular practices of which they hold traces and from which they draw an important part of their significance. The present thesis looks into eighty-nine versions - some in French, some in other tongues - of these tales, borrowed from twenty-three peoples. The study, adopting a comparative and interdisciplinary approach, crosses necessarily fields outside folklore, other literary genres for example, or other forms of artistic expression that it illuminates by repercussion. It meets sometimes also the initiatory course of young girls, whose evolution towards the adulthood eventually appears inseparable from the boy's progress

Full textOur tripartite research aims to demonstrate the continuity between ancient and contemporary theatre in terms of theatricality. Firstly, we focused on Greek and Latin tragedies based on Agamemnon's theme (Aeschylus' Agamemnon and Eumenides, Seneca's Thyestes and Agamemnon) and secondly, we pursued our study on the plays of the French author D. -G. Gabily. We examined how a spectacular form emerges from the written text in all three cases. As a matter of fact, we came to the conclusion that the characters' discourse modifies the dramatic situation 10 which it refers, as it adds a visual dimension to the scenic actions. The results of our analysis contribute to understand that the spoken word in theatre means more than it suggests: the characters' discourse animates a fictional world that is superimposed on the one represented on stage

Full textThe issue of identity is an issue that is topical both constant and evolving as it traverses the history of man. It appears as a major concern in today's world and thus of the African society of today. Recurring theme of sub-saharan African literature in french, through characters torn, suffering from psychological conflicts or crises of identity, it motivates this study who wants to do an investigation on the issue of identy in five African novels. It aims to highlight its literariness and therefore identify issues both semantic and aesthetic at work. Thus, it shows how the organization of strata enunciative that structure works reflect the identity of why battered of how the bruise spreads and lives and strategies for recovery of identity. Organized into three parts, one revealed by analysis immanent, the unveiling of the vacillations of identity from the narrative construction of heroes. S'en follow the narrative course content axiological contradictory, reflecting the d iscrepancies of their Being. The second part refers to a disorientation of the characters in space, base their search for identity. The last axis, with the help of social psychology highlights strategies winbacks identity made by the protagonists. However the search for identity ends in a stalemate because the existential question remains. Total, enrollment of discursive identity invests the text in both content and form and can be read in a singularity in language, itself in search of definition and empowerment. This writing in mutation is typical of many French novels

Full textRésumé La littérature de jeunesse est continuellement considérée comme un outil pédagogique indispensable, un moyen efficace pour éduquer les jeunes. Cependant, un roman de jeunesse ne peut pas atteindre son objectif d’enrichir les jeunes lecteurs s’ils ne s’amusent pas en le lisant. Il est donc essentiel que les auteurs de jeunesse créent des textes qui plaisent en premier lieu aux lecteurs, des textes qui captent leur intérêt. Si les lecteurs ne sont pas capables de s’identifier entièrement aux thèmes qu’un auteur aborde, son langage ou les personnages qu’il met en scène dans son histoire, le texte ne retiendra pas leur intérêt et l’auteur ne parviendra pas à les enrichir. Cette étude se concentre sur les romans pour jeunesse de Marie Desplechin afin de déterminer dans quelle mesure les petits héros ordinaires dans ses romans peuvent encourager et aider les lecteurs préadolescents (âgés de sept à quinze ans) à se construire d’une façon progressive. The tale also acts on reality always translating it according to the satisfaction of a need. The revolution is the best example of this process

Full textThe purpose of this thesis is the study of the tuscan "poesia glooosa" in the middle ages. First was considered the attitude of the critics in front of these poets in order to show the problems raised by interpretation and appellation of this poetical style. Subsequently, the study is focused on the analysis of two examples: rustico di filippo (1230 - 1291) and cecco angiolieri (1260 - 1313)'s works. Observing the way each of the two poets belonging to different generations treat the set of "comic" themes, the author tried to show how the "comic realist" poetry, far from being a simple parody of the "high" lyrion, may be considered as a genuine literary expression and invention

Full textThe aim of this study is the analysis of the tragic hero's social evolution in the African novel. By centering our step on socio-historical interpretation of these four novels, we encountered a report according to which the tragic hero's existence, in the African novel, generally begins, at one time of happiness before rocking suddenly in the catastrophe. However the passage of the state of happiness to the state of absolute misfortune is not related to a suprasensible force like fate. It is on the contrary, the history as a movement of events projected by the human conscience and the policy which often replaces fate to lead the hero's to a tragedy. Beyond the analysis of the hero's social condition, we widened the fields of our study to the examination of the style of each author what enabled us to collect the principal features of the African novel on the aesthetics one

Full textThis doctoral degree dissertation has been written for a joint PhD, established between the Université de Limoges and the Université de Montréal. We examine four contemporary Quebecois novels: Myriam Beaudoin’s Hadassa, Éric Dupont’s La Logeuse, Abla Farhoud’s Le Fou d’Omar and Mauricio Segura’s Côte-des-Nègres. The novels were published in Montreal between 1998 and 2006. The most important objective is the study of the link between the heterolingualism of the Quebecois novel during the years 1995-2010 and the linguistic practice of the protagonists. We place literary heroes at the heart of our research. We make an interpretation by induction, as we decrypt the worldview of this literary heroes from the linguistic practice. This will allow us to determine the factors that could motivate the change of register and variety of language in specific situations. We use literary, linguistic and sociolinguistic methods. The analysis of the diegesis is based on Gérard Genette’s narratology theory. We use Philippe Hamon’s five differentiation processes and Boris Tomashevsky’s two individualization processes to establish the hierarchy of the literary characters. The results of the analysis of the diegesis are reproduced on a diagram. This type of diagram is our creation. Rainier Grutman define the heterolingualism like “the use of foreign languages or social, regional and historical varieties in literary texts” (translated by Nicole Nolette). We refer to the works of Rainier Grutman (1997) and Chantal Richard (2004) to analyse the form and function of hetorolingualism in our corpus. A sociolinguistic approach is based on Shana Poplack’s works and her variationist model of code switching and of borrowing (1988)
