Abstract:
ZusammenfassungHereditäre Optikusatrophien stellen eine heterogene Gruppe seltener degenerativer Erkrankungen der retinalen Ganglienzellen und ihrer Axone, welche den Sehnerv bilden, dar. Mit einer geschätzten Prävalenz von 1 : 10 000 bis 1 : 20 000 betreffen die hereditären Optikusatrophien in ihrer Gesamtheit etwa 4000 – 8000 Menschen in Deutschland. Am verbreitetsten sind die Leberʼsche Optikusatrophie (LHON) und die autosomal-dominante Optikusatrophie (ADOA). Neben den isolierten Optikusatrophien, deren Symptomatik sich auf das visuelle System beschränkt, gibt es zahlreiche Krankheitsbilder, bei welchen die Optikusatrophie Teil einer syndromalen Erkrankung mit vornehmlich neurosensorischer, neurologischer und/oder neuromuskulärer Symptomatik ist. Der Vererbungsmodus ist heterogen mit einer rein maternalen Vererbung bei der LHON und autosomal-dominanter Vererbung bei der ADOA. Deutlich seltener sind Fälle mit autosomal-rezessiver oder X-chromosomal-rezessiver Vererbung. Die Penetranz ist jedoch unvollständig. Bei der LHON erkranken zudem weitaus häufiger Männer als Frauen. Die genetischen Ursachen der hereditären Optikusatrophien sind heterogen, aber größtenteils bekannt. Die molekulargenetische Diagnostik liefert daher in der Mehrzahl der untersuchten Fälle ein aussagekräftiges Ergebnis, mit welchem die klinische Diagnose abgesichert, das Wiederholungsrisiko in der Familie konkret kalkuliert oder im Falle der Bestätigung einer LHON eine therapeutische Behandlung initiiert werden kann. Dieser Artikel gibt eine Übersicht über die genetischen Ursachen der hereditären Optikusatrophien und die Optionen und Modalitäten einer molekulargenetischen Diagnostik einschließlich Hinweisen zu deren Implementierung in der Praxis.

A heterogenic system of incompatibility is described in Coprinus bisporus which involves two alleles at two loci, in addition to the unifactorial homogenic incompatibility locus already described for this two-spored species. The patterns of non-allelic heterogenic incompatibility found in C. bisporus are used to predict those expected in species with bifactorial homogenic incompatibility. This type of heterogenic incompatibility could lead to speciation.

Abstract:
The object of research is an optical-electronic system for detecting aircraft. The subject of the research is methods for selecting a moving object on a complex inhomogeneous background. The purpose of this work is to develop an algorithm for detecting an unmanned aerial vehicle by an optoelectronic system on a non-uniform background in real time. The presented studies were performed using video image processing methods. A noise-resistant method for selecting an unmanned aerial vehicle against a complex dynamic background is proposed. The algorithm is based on calculating the coordinates of the center of the object area by finding the Gaussian adaptive threshold of the background image. The proposed method can be used in the development of an optical-electronic system for detecting a moving unmanned aerial vehicle against a non-uniform background in real time in the infrared range. As a result, it was found that the proposed algorithm confidently copes with the detection of a contrasting object located at a distance of up to 2 km from the detection system.

The first part of the thesis discuss general characterization of heterogeneous processes in silicates. This part is focused on kinetics of heterogeneous processes and mathematical description of reactions time behavior. The other part describes important technologies in silicate industry such as sintering, solid matter decomposition, transition modification, etc. Another chapter deals mineralogy, structure and properties of eminent silicate raw materials. Emphases is given to characterization of clay minerals and their utilising. The experimental part handle the analytic techniques used for investigation of thermal decompostion, dehydroxylation, crystalization of Al-Si spinel phase and sintering process of washed kaolin Sedlec Ia from the region Carlsbad (Czech Republic). Concluding chapter reports on results of experimental work.

Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to improve the control quality of the adaptive systems (Self Tuning Controllers). The thesis mainly deals with problematical identification part of the adaptive system. This part demonstrates a weak point for existing adaptive systems. Paradoxically, the quality of the adaptive system depends mainly on the identification part because on the basis of the process model obtained by identification are worked out parameters of a control part, afterwards the control action plan is established. Knowledge of the modern control methods is used and a new identification algorithm for closed loop identification is proposed. This simple, fast and efficient algorithm overcomes all disadvantages of current classical identification methods based on least mean-square algorithms. The possibility of the choice of a short sample time, one tuning parameter ability to adjust the control process, the ability to identify processes in real use belong to its main goals. This algorithm was built in the adaptive system and then it was tested on a set of simulation and real models with surprisingly excellent results. The successful implementation of the algorithm into the programmable logic controller was also realized. One part of the thesis introduces a new universal graphics environment for testing and verifying control algorithms.

Ausgehend von einer modularen Plattform zur Erfassung und Verarbeitung von Sensordaten bereichert die vorliegende Dissertationsschrift den Systementwurf eingebetteter Systeme um neue Facetten. Ihr besonderer Fokus liegt dabei auf rekonfigurierbaren Architekturen und Linux-basierten Systemen. Ein wesentlicher Beitrag ist die Darstellung und Diskussion von Konzepten und Architekturen vorgenannter Systeme durch ihre Betrachtung auf einer hohen Abstraktionsebene. Dazu schafft die Arbeit ein umfassendes Verständnis für Kommunikation und Konfiguration in heterogenen rekonfigurierbaren Systemen und überträgt die Erkenntnisse auf das Linux-Betriebssystem. Es erfolgt außerdem eine systematische Darstellung der etablierten Zusammenhänge und Abläufe beim Software-, Paket- und Versionsmanagement im Linux-Umfeld. Zur Verbesserung des Entwurfsflusses werden Konzepte und ein geeignetes Werkzeug zur High-Level Spezifikation von Linux-Systemen dargestellt. Die in der Arbeit gewonnenen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse werden hinsichtlich praktischer Relevanz evaluiert und durch prototypische Implementierungen verifiziert
Based on a modular platform for recording and processing of sensor data the present thesis enriches the field of system design of embedded systems with new facets. Its particular focus is on reconfigurable architectures and Linux-based systems. A major contribution is the presentation and discussion of concepts and architectures of aforementioned systems by investigating them on a high level of abstraction. To achieve this, the work creates a comprehensive understanding of communication and configuration in heterogeneous reconfigurable systems. This knowledge is transferred on the Linux operating system. In addition, a systematic presentation of the established relationships and processes in software, package and version management in the Linux environment takes place. To improve the design flow of Linux systems, the thesis presents appropriate concepts as well as a tool for high-level specification of embedded Linux systems. The gained scientific findings are evaluated in terms of practical relevance and verified by prototype implementations

Abstract:
Die Simulation heterogener Systeme auf hoher Abstraktionsebene gewinnt auf Grund der zunehmenden Komplexität technischer Systeme stetig an Bedeutung. Unter heterogenen Systemen versteht man technische Systeme, die aus analoger und digitaler Elektronik, aus Komponenten verschiedener physikalischer Domänen wie mechanischen Strukturen, thermischen und optischen Komponenten sowie aus Software bestehen können. Genügte es bisher, die einzelnen Komponenten für sich in ihrer eigenen Domäne mit einem speziellen Simulator zu simulieren, so ist es heute unerläßlich, auch die Interaktionen zwischen den Komponenten zu erfassen. Um solche Systeme mit einer einheitlichen Beschreibungsform erfassen zu können, entstand aus der digitalen Hardwarebeschreibungssprache VHDL die Systembeschreibungssprache VHDL-AMS. Bei der Modellierung eines Systems muß das tatsächliche Verhalten der Komponenten abstrahiert werden, um mathematisch erfaßbar und in begrenzter Zeit simulierbar zu sein. Der Grad der Abstraktion beeinflußt jedoch die Genauigkeit der Simulationsergebnisse wesentlich. Dabei muß bzw. kann das Verhalten in unterschiedlichen Komponenten unterschiedlich stark abstrahiert werden, um noch akzeptable Simulationsgenauigkeiten erzielen zu können. VHDL-AMS erlaubt die Beschreibung von Komponenten auf unterschiedlichen Abstraktionsniveaus. Man kann die unterschiedlich abstrakten Modelle der Komponenten aber nur schwer in einer Systemsimulation gemeinsam simulieren, da unterschiedlich abstrakte Modelle auch unterschiedlich abstrakte Schnittstellen aufweisen, so daß die Modelle nur mühsam miteinander verbunden werden können. Ein Austausch eines abstrakten Modells einer Komponente gegen ein weniger abstraktes Modell oder umgekehrt ist mit vielen fehleranfälligen und zeitaufwendigen Anpassungsschritten verbunden. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird ein methodischer Ansatz vorgestellt, der es auf der Basis einer Vereinheitlichung der Modellschnittstellen ermöglicht, unterschiedlich abstrakte Modelle gemeinsam zu simulieren und einzelne Modelle gegen abstraktere oder weniger abstrakte Modelle ohne nennenswerten Zeit- und Modellierungsaufwand auszutauschen. Es werden die zu verwendenden Interfaceobjekte und Datentypen für digitale, analoge elektrische und nichtelektrische Schnittstellen unter VHDL-AMS und SystemC-AMS vorgestellt. Ebenso werden Methoden vorgestellt, die digitales, ereignisdiskretes Verhalten auf konservative elektrische Schnittstellen bzw. nichtkonservatives analoges Verhalten auf digitale Schnittstellen abbilden. Weiterhin wird erläutert, wie sich digitale Protokolle über Abstraktionsebenen hinweg übertragen lassen und ein modifizierter Top-Down Design-Flow vorgestellt. Die Demonstration der Anwendbarkeit der Methode erfolgt anhand eines Beispiels.

Abstract:
Metabolic bone diseases are at the forefront of scientific and biomedical research worldwide. Diseases such as osteoporosis are characterized by increased bone fragility, which leads to micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue and eventually to micro fractures. At the micro-structural level, bone is constructed from thin rods known as trabeculae and plates. These rods and plates are arranged in semi-regular, three-dimensional patterns and constitute highly anisotropic and heterogenic material. The bone micro-structure is stochastic in nature and varies according to patient, bone type and location within a specific bone. Diagnostic abilities rely on high technology and advanced methods for 3D micro scanning, modeling and analyzing the bone micro-structure. We propose a novel method for modeling scaffold-based implants that have the stochastic structure of bone and can be customized according to given bone structures. The method for designing these implants is based on a 3D pattern synthesis technique that can be applied to the diseased cavities of a given bone. The implants will replace these cavities in the cancellous bone. Recognizing these cavities is a difficult process, since such bone is characterized by a complex micro-structure composed of thin cylindrical rods and plates. Cavities with this 3D micro-structure will be identified by measuring the volumes of those cavities and comparing them to a specified threshold. The in-filling will be based on a 3D pattern growing scheme that takes the exerted forces into account so that the global directionality of the micro-structure is preserved. Furthermore, the goal is to optimize the topology according to mechanical rules. Due to the complexity of the problem, the approach is initially examined only for 2D medical images. The main contribution of this method is that the structure of the micro-implants will not be the current standard structure (cubes with holes), which lack the characteristics of a given bone structure. Moreover, this method can be used to design and manufacture customized micro-implants according to the specific stochastic micro-structure of a given bone. These customized designed implants can be manufactured using micro-RP technology.

Abstract:
Today in most cases crash absorber elements are made of metals. Those materials absorb the energy during a crash event by ductile plastification, as e.g. by buckling. Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) offer due to their heterogenic structure several failure mechanisms for energy absorption under compressive load, such as fiber-break, matrix-break, delamination, fiber pull-out, fiber-matrix-interphase failure and friction processes. This in combination with the low density leads to significantly better specific energy absorption of FRP absorbers (50 J/g to 200 J/g FRP, 20 J/g steel, 40 J/g aluminum). But in case of tensile load fiber reinforced polymers break brittle and the energy absorption level is low. Today as a consequence of rising energy costs FRP with their good specific mechanic properties are used more and more also for crash relevant structures as in automobiles and aircrafts. For this applications a good crash behavior in both cases, compressive and tensile loading, is important. The integration of metal elements in FRP-structures offers the possibility to improve the tensile crash behavior of fiber reinforced polymers as the metal elements can prevent a catastrophic failure of the structure in case of FRP-break and distributes the load during tensile deformation on a larger FRP volume. The integration of shape memory alloys (SMA) with their pseudoplastic martensitic detwinning plateau allows for manufacturing of an “endless” crash absorber in case of tensile load. Required is a well dimensioned structure of shape memory alloys, e.g. a wire mesh, the FRP component and their interface. Doing so, it is possible to get huge number of breaks in the SMA reinforced FRP. The pseudoplastic detwinning plateau and the huge strain hardening of the SMA material ensure that after a FRP-break and the drop of the force level associated therewith the force level in the whole structure raises again so that another FRP-break is initiated. Also the reinforcement prevents a complete failure of the structure. In this contribution we present a theoretical extrapolation of the behavior of these new hybrid structures under tensile loading, give an estimation of their potential and demonstrate a first experimental validation of this new concept.
