Abstract:
Introduction: The Frequency Rate (FR) of workplace accidents in 2019 was recorded at 3.4, meaning that for every million work hours, there were 3.4 cases of workplace accidents. In 2020, the FR increased to 3.6, and in 2021, it further rose to 3.8. Therefore, companies need to make improvements to reduce the number of work accidents by investing some resources in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) investment program. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for analyzing the OSH investment program by considering its benefits and costs. Methods: Hierarchy of controls was used in

The sex of Drosophila melanogaster is determined by a hierarchy of genes. The ultimate targets of this regulatory hierarchy are the genes encoding terminal differentiation products of one sex. For one of the best-characterized target genes, that encoding female-specific yolk protein 1 (YP1), sex-specific transcriptional controls have been clearly demonstrated. In addition, sex-specific posttranscriptional controls were suggested from experiments in which YP1 RNA was induced in males with hormones. Abstract:
This paper deals with the application of multiple strategies to control some parabolic PDEs. We assume that we can act on the system through a hierarchy of distributed controls: with a first control (a follower), we drive the state exactly to zero; then, with an additional control (the leader), we minimize a prescribed cost functional. That means that we invert the roles played by leaders and followers in the recent literature. We study linear and semilinear problems. More precisely, we prove the existence (and uniqueness in the linear case) of a leader-follower couple. Then, we deduce an appr

Objective This study aimed to measure irisin level and carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), and, to unravel their correlations with other variables in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Background Multiple components of the marrow environment and of the MDS cell hierarchy itself can contribute to an inflammatory state which can influence MDS emergence, propagation, and evolution. Abstract:
Liver cirrhosis, which is considered one of the leading causes of death in the world, can lead to severe complications, and is often followed by a liver transplantation. These patients take an average of nine medications daily. If not managed adequately, it can be accompanied by serious drug-related problems. To reduce this risk, a clinical pharmacist may be included as part of the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy in this population. This study aimed to systematically identify the pharmaceutical interventions which reduced drug-related problems and improved medication therapy for
