Structures more than 40 m are usually termed as high rise structures. It is difficult to predict the flow of wind around structures without the use of computational fluid dynamics software or wind tunnel. These high rise structures are subjected to stronger winds that can cause them to sway. So the predictions of aerodynamic loads acting on tall buildings are very important. This study aims to identify the characteristics of wind flow such high rise structures by predicting flow variables such as pressure, velocity and impacting stress etc using Ansys Fluent 18.1. A multi-storey building is habitually modelled as a frame structure which neglects the shear wall/slab openings along with the inclusion of staircases. Furthermore, the structural strength provided by shear walls and slabs is not precisely incorporated. With increasing building height, the effect of lateral loads on a high-rise structure increases substantially. Inclusion of shear walls and slabs with the frame leads to improved lateral stiffness. Besides, their openings may play imperative role in the structural behaviour of such buildings. In this study, 61 multi-storey building configuratio

Most of the tall buildings that are built today have a straight and vertical shape, because vertical buildings are more stable and easily built than slanted ones. In the case of vertical building, bending moments in the base only exists from horizontal loads such as wind and seismic loads, but in slanted buildings there will also be bending moments from dead and live loads. In addition, transportation inside the building is also a challenge when it comes to slanted buildings. However, a new elevator system that ThyssenKrupp has developed will solve that problem. This study is the first application of the method to damaged bridge structures. The bridge identification was performed using wave propagation in a simple uniform shear beam model.
