The volumetrie proportions of vessel elements, fibres, rays, and axial parenchyma plus vasicentric tracheids were determined for the stern, branch and root wood of threc black oak (Quercus velutina Lam.) trees. There were statistical differences in the proportions of wood elements between locations within the trees sampled, i.e., branches, sterns, roots, oblique roots, and lateral roots. Branches had the highest proportion of vesseI elements, whereas sterns had the greatest proportion ofaxial parenchyma plus vasicentric tracheids. The addition of flaxseed and amaranth on the physicochemical, functional, and microstructural changes of instant-extruded products was evaluated. Six mixtures with different proportions of amaranth (18.7–33.1%), flaxseed (6.6–9.3%), maize grits (55.6–67.3%) and minor ingredients (4.7%) were extruded in a twin-screw extruder. Insoluble and soluble fiber contents in extrudates increased as the proportions of amaranth and flaxseed increased. AbstractThis chapter presents a brief comparative summary overview of the four cases. In Switzerland, most conservative Catholics escaped modernisation and centralism by relocating to the mountains, while Liberals and Protestants mostly remained in flat areas that became industrialised (Obinger, 2009). The federal government has been mainly liberal (anti-clerical) and close to Protestantism. Likewise, the Protestant population was in the majority until the 1970s. Currently, the Protestant cantons are the most competitive, while the mountainous Roman Catholic cantons are the least competitive.Ur

Hainan soil pH continues to decrease, and the reduced soil selenium availability of stagnic anthrosols caused by soil acidification influence the selenium absorption in selenium-rich areas. Taking stagnic anthrosols in selenium-rich areas as the object, the soil total selenium concentration and sequential fractionations of surface layer were analyzed, which are Exchangeable (EX), Carbonate-bound (AC), Fe & Mn oxided-bound (OX), Organic-bound (OC) and Residual (RES). The results show that selenium in soil is unevenly distributed among various fractionations, with the RES and OC accounting f

Abstract To study the effect of fuel stage proportion on flame position and combustion characteristics of the internally-staged combustor, a detailed numerical investigation is performed in the present paper. The prediction method of flame position is established by analyzing the variations of the distribution of intermediate components and the turbulent flame speed. Meanwhile, the flame position is simulated to verify the accuracy of the prediction method.
