Due to their superior physical and electro-mechanical properties, Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) are one of the most promising composite fillers to realize ultralight and flexible strain sensors that can be used, among others, to monitor strain concentrations within a structure when damage occurs. In this study, sensors are made of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWNTs) embedded in a Polymide (PI) matrix. Nanocomposites are characterized under no-load conditions to study the electrical properties, and under tensile loading conditions, to evaluate the electromechanical and piezoresistive response. The

The article focuses on three early-seventeenth-century (English and Scottish) leisure travelers’ accounts of the (alleged) ruins of Homeric Troy, namely those penned by Thomas Coryat, William Lithgow, and George Sandys. It argues that their rumination on the specific remains both shaped and reflected their manifold, fractured, and precarious identities while it also highlighted the complex dialogue taking place in these texts between a ruinous past and a fragmented and malleable present. The essay also examines the three travelers’ broken poetics, interspersed in the aforementioned accounts, a

This article explores the way that the performance of temporal processes in recent contemporary music reveals something about the nature of musical time. Process music deals with time as a part of its material, offering the opportunity to experience time as time: the expression and experience of units of time that are defined by, and enclose, processes, in works whose forms are defined by their durations. This experience of musical time has been described by Kramer as 'vertical time' (1981/1988): the extended perception of a single moment. Such an experience can be identified in Gisby's Iterat
