Introduction and Aim:Osteoarthrosis is defined as degenerative condition of the synovial joints. Weak thigh muscle will cause impaired walking and balance and leads to risk of fall during activities of daily living. Use of MD and UD wobble board is hypothesized to improve balance and proprioception. So, pain, muscle power and proprioception are clinically important for balance control. Hence there is a need to study weight bearing exercise to hip abductor in various balance strategies to achieve muscle strength, joint position sense, balance, and activity of daily living. Methodol

Aims Psychological factors play a critical role in patient presentation, satisfaction, and outcomes. Pain catastrophizing, anxiety, and depression are important to consider, as they are associated with poorer outcomes and are potentially modifiable. The aim of this study was to assess the level of pain catastrophizing, anxiety, and depression in patients with a range of hip pathology and to evaluate their relationship with patient-reported psychosocial and functional outcome measures. Hip prosthesis stems with a short stem length and proximal fixation geometry support a bone-preserving and muscle-sparing implantation and should also allow for revision surgery with a standard hip stem. We present 250 prospectively documented clinical and radiological results from the Metha Short Hip Stem prosthesis (B. Braun-Aesculap, Tuttlingen, Germany) after an average follow-up of 4.9 years. The average patient age at surgery was 60 years. Indication for total hip replacement was primary osteoarthrosis (OA) (78% of patients), OA based on developmental dyspla- sia of the hip (16%), and ot

In osteoarthrosis, pathological features of articular cartilage are associated with degeneration and nanomechanical changes. The aim of this paper is to show that indentation-atomic force microscopy can monitor wear-related biomechanical changes in the hip joint of patients with osteoarthritis. Fifty patients (N = 50), aged 40 to 65, were included in the study. The mechanical properties and the submicron surface morphology of hyaline cartilage were investigated using atomic force microscopy. Measurements of the roughness parameters of cartilage surfaces were performed, including the arithmetic

Results of treatment of 39 patients with hip and knee I-III osteoarthrosis are presented. Treatment consisted of irradiation of bioactive arthrospecific points with high energy Nd-laser followed by injections of drug cocktail into those points. No steroid drugs were used. The method could be used both as independent technique for rehabilitation treatment and preoperative management. It is shown that suggested method provides longer non-medicine remission as well as repeated remission in comparison with traditional conservative treatment.
