В статье изложены результаты искусствоведческого исследования, связанного с проектом благоустройства сада Николаевского сиротского института, датированным 1890 г. Проект, составленный архитектором Н. Н. Ковригиным, представляет собой детальный чертеж деревянной галереи в окружении прилегающих к ней зданий и аллей. Данный документ помог установить авторство проекта, рассчитать реальные габариты и выделить особенности стилистического решения деревянной галереи.
