This thesis deals with the transformation of the thematic structure of Události, the main news segment of the Czech Television. Apart from the changes in the thematic structure, it deals with formal transformations at the basic level. For the purpose of this work, a research sample, which included one week of broadcasting in 1994, 2005 and 2011, was selected. A total of 27 news segments, which contained 341 reportages, were analyzed in the three research periods. A subsequent comparison of data provided answers to the following questions: How did the ratio of foreign and domestic topics changed? How did the ratio of hard and soft news change within a single news segment? What was the thematic structure like in the three research periods? Was there a change in the thematic structure? How did the duration of the news segment Události change? How did the number of reportages change within a single news segment? How did the duration of actual reportages change? This thesis aims to describe in detail the transformation of the main news channel, Czech television, which in 2012 has undergone a significant transformation. The main reason for these changes in the concept of the show has been a steady decline in their audience. General Director of Czech TV, Petr Dvorak, made it one of his objectives: the consolidation of the show, which was to stop this trend. This text will focus on the changes described in terms of form and content. The introductory chapter will focus on the description of television journalism and introduce various journalistic genres that can be applied to television news. In the second chapter, I will discuss the historical development agenda of events since its inception in 1993 until 2012, when it begins a major study. This part establishes the third chapter: dealing with preparations for an innovative concept. The following two chapters, which will be the core part of the work, will describe what specific transformations occurred. The aim will be to show substantive changes concerning the methods of preparation of individual contributions as well as their overall compositions and formal change. The main aim of the master thesis Transformations of the evening news Události and regional news of ČT since 2007 to 2012 was to introduce news in context of normative theories, television news in context of Czech Republic, their development and current conditions. Theoretical frame of the thesis was political economy of communication, outlining the background of news production, and contributing to understand news issues. Essential part of the thesis was the combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis used as a tool for examining news objectivity at evening and regional news of public television Česká televize since 2007 to 2012, its development and differences between evening and regional news. Objectivity was researched through relevance and uncovering bias by visual balance and neutral presentation. It was found that evening news Události dedicate most of the time to foreign, occasional and political events, 35 % of news showed elements of siding, for example by dramatization, possible reality distortion and using expressive expressions. In terms of regional Brno's news Události v regionech it was found that the highest relevance was assigned to points of interest news and local news, 17 % of news showed elements of siding using mostly evaluative expressions. This master's thesis focuses on how the Czech Television covered the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia in its main evening news program. It was an important theme of the whole year 2018, it wasn't the only anniversary we commemorated in that year, though. In 2018, eighty years have passed since the signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938 and seventy years since the 1948 Czechoslovak coup d'état. It's also been fifty years since the Prague Spring and the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. Last but not least, we celebrated twenty-five years since the founding of the Czech Republic in 1993. All these events are significant milestones in Czech and world history of the twentieth century. Therefore, the thesis analyzes to what extent Czech Television dealt with these events. The aim of the thesis is to get an insight into the coverage of this topic throughout the year 2018 and to find out how much space was provided for each anniversary and what the nature of the posts was.

The object of this diploma thesis is to cover and describe main selected aspects of reporting on refugee crisis in two key czech news programmes - in Zprávy FTV Prima and in Události ČT. Within the confines of one randomly chosen week in six months at the turn of the year 2016 and 2017 the author uses the quantitative method of analysis (with some elements of qualitative research) to describe in detail the discours chosen by these two powerful media institutions to inform the recipients. This work concentrates on most frequent topics, on their framing, on the linguistic and semantics codes etc. The initial part of the thesis offers insight into theoretical knowledge about this topic - history of migration in Czech territory, selected theoretical concepts and last but not least - the context, facts about the number og migrants living in CZ and EU also. The conclusions may serve as a basis for other analysis concerning this highly topical and very complex issue. The author perceives this subject as one of the most important event of late, which in addition strongly resonates with social and public life. I deal in master thesis with reflection of audiovisual media in the Czech Republic and their work with events of terroristic attacks of Islamic State. I focused on main broadcasting which are the most representative material for the form of image of approaches of particular media. In theoretic part I deal with organization Islamic state and symbiotic relation between terrorism and media. We encouter a new phenomena of terrorism which can adapt for new media, social sites and which can work also with audiovisual agenda. I try to get closer and try to set the ethics of west media and I am looking for answers which are underlay of chosen literature or contemporary codified standards (f.e. BBC Editorial Guidelines). I compare new phenomena of terrorism and media reflection with current sociological trends and create terrorism and his work in media in "liquid times". In practical part I deal with specific events of terroristic attacks of ISIS in Europe and I search ethical questionable aspects in content of czech AV media. I am looking for specific points on the relief of terroristic attacks which broadcasters do. Based on the theoretical part I focus next to primary also on secondary ethically questionable aspects which are result of symbiotic relation between media and terrorism.
