In most levels of vehicle automation, drivers will not be merely occupants or passengers of automated vehicles. Detta arbete behandlar hur ett Siemens PLC system konstrueras och programmeras för att automatisera rengöringen av textilslangar vid rökgasrening. Det gjordes genom att undersöka kravsammanställning och utforma systemet därefter. För systemet togs kopplingsscheman fram, programmering av virtuell PLC och HMI gjordes. Systemet simulerades sedan med framgång. Alla funktioner har inte utvecklats men de viktigaste kraven är uppfyllda.
