Abstract:

Sungai Bah bolon merupakan destinasi wisata arung jeram. Alur sungai yang menjadi lokasi kegiatan arung jeram ini merupakan hulu dari Sungai Padang yang mengalir melintasi Kota Tebing Tinggi. Sungai Sei Bah Bolon yang berhulu Di desa wisata Bahbolon dan desa-desa sekitarnya memiliki makanan khas yaitu ayam holat. Holat adalah berasal dari kata kelat, kelat sendiri diambil dari rasa yang ada di dalam bumbu utama yang menggunakan bahan-bahan antara lain kulit kayu tanaman balakka. Berbeda dengan holat yang berasal dari daerah tapanuli tengah yang menggunakan ikan jurung, holat khas desa wisata bahbolon menggunakan ayam sebagai proteinnya. Makanan holat terbilang langka, namun sampai saat ini keberadaan holat masih bisa bertahan. Adanya makanan holat ini di desa wisata Bahbolon dapat menjadi nilai tambah dari ekowisata dan industri rumah tangga sebagai pertanian berbasis pedesaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ketrampilan masyarakat tetap dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan Kembali khususnya untuk menghasilkan produk makanan yang sehat. Kegiatan wisata desa denai lama semakin bervariasi untuk meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan. Diadakan lebih banyak pelatihan ketrampilan dalam penyajian makanan pada wisatawan.

Abstract:

Keunikan industri rumahan makanan “holat” di desa Purbasinomba ini telah menjadi ikon yang perlu dilestarikan dan dikembangkan pada marketplace dalam dunia industri. Akan tetapi, industri makanan khas ini hanya digunakan pada acara-acara masyarakat, misalnya kenduri, pesta perkawinan, dan acara lainnya. Hal inilah membuat pengusul mengembangkan pasar indutri kepada masyarakat diluar daerah Kec. Padang Bolak, Kab. Padang Lawas Utara. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode pendekatan kepada masyarakat desa Purbasinomba sebagai mitra. Adapun pendekatan yang dilakukan, yaitu melakukan pelatihan dan penyuluhan mengenai produksi dan pemasaran industri rumahan berupa bahan-bahan untuk makanan tersebut. Mengoptimalkan kreativitas masyarakat dalam memasarkan produk makanan holat dengan model racikan yang sesuai cita rasa. Tujuan dari kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah untuk membantu masyarakat desa Purbasinomba untuk memasarkan produk makanan “holat” secara online dengan melakukan pemberdayaan kepada masyarakat. Selain melakukan pemberdayaan, pengusul juga mengajak Pemerintah daerah ikut berpartisipasi dalam upaya mempromosikan produk “holat” ini pada acara-acara resmi Pemerintah maupun acara keluarga. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya keselarasan antara bisnis industri rumahan holat meningkat dan berkembang setelah dilterapkan aplikasi digital marketplace.

Holat adalah nama dari salah satu makanan indonesia . Hidangan ini merupakan makanan khas dari Padang Bolak, Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara, Provinsi Sumatra Utara.Tetapi, penyebaran makanan ini cukup luas, seperti di Kota Padang Sidempua, Rantauprapat, Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Kotapinang, Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Selatan Aek Kanopan, Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Utara dan Kota Medan. Makanan ini cukup unik. Misal, di Kota Padang Sidempuan, makanan berbahan dasar ikan itu cukup dikenal oleh suku Mandailing karena cita rasanya yang lezat dan manfaatnya untuk kesehatan. Jika bukan masyarakat asli daerah penyebarannya tersebut, nama Holat terdengar kurang familier. Konon Holat merupakan makanan yang dibuat secara khusus bagi para raja di Tapanuli Selatan.Jika melihat sekilas, Holat seperti hidangan ikan bakar berkuah, tetapi rasa gurihnya sangat terasa, apalagi karena ada bumbu utamanya. Pembuatan Holat menggunakan bahan-bahan khas yang ada di Sumatra Utara, antara lain, kulit kayu tanaman balakka yang biasanya hanya terdapat di hutan kawasan Tapanuli Selatan dan ikan jurung. Abstract:

Gustav Holst was a contributor to the genre of English opera throughout his career. His name is not usually associated with opera, and yet he composed thirteen in all; five were published, three are lost, and the remaining five exist solely in manuscript. The dissertation begins with Holst's background and influences, the most important of which were the music of Sullivan and Wagner, and the ways in which Holst's music of his early period imitated those styles. Other aspects with which Holst came into contact are discussed here; namely Sanskrit literature, the English folksong movement, and the re-discovery of the English madrigal. Each is examined separately in order to clarify how each influenced his music during the early years of the twentieth century. The earliest operas are presented in chronological order and discussed in terms of their subjects, harmonic and thematic approaches, style and form, as well as a comparison in style between the operas that were composed concurrently. The core of the work consists of the fourth, fifth and sixth chapters wherein Holst's final attempt at Wagnerian chromaticism (and his only attempt at large-scale three act opera) and its lack of success is presented. It is linked to a masterpiece of chamber opera of three years later by way of a song cycle for solo voice and piano which clearly demonstrates his new approach to the setting of text, his use of modality and the paring down of accompaniment to give emphasis to the voice. The final chapter deals with the late period of Holst's operatic writing and discusses the three comic operas. Holst's humour and its effect on choice of subject, setting of text and orchestral effects is put into the context of the post-war era.

Gustav Holst (21-9-1874 Cheltenham 25-5-1934 Londres) est anglais de naissance et de culture, bien que sa famille soit d'origine germanique et scandinave. Compositeur, chef de chœur et d'orchestre, professeur, organiste, tromboniste de band et d'orchestre, Holst domine son art. Surdoué à l'instar de Mozart, il est mal compris. Les difficultés rencontrées l'incitent à rechercher un langage musical accessible à tous. Il n'a rien négligé pour atteindre son objectif et fit même un détour par la culture sanscrite. Dans la Bhagavad-gita, il découvre la sagesse de la vie et réalise que la nouveauté est autour de lui. Les hasards de l'existence le conduiront à la Dulwich Picture Gallery où il a la révélation du message de Poussin (l'expression des passions au moyen des modes musicaux grecs). A partir de là, Holst complète son message sonore par l'image et le mouvement pour atteindre l'art total mais comme Scriabine, il n'a pas eu le temps de parachever cet idéal. Holst reçu la lumière d'une communication pour tous, lors de l'audition de Didon et Énée : le langage anglais avec ses rythmes irréguliers, ses incises brèves, ses sonorités. Il l'exprima dans The Planets, suite symphonique en 7 mouvements qui est l'exemple de l'idiome anglais dont The Hymn of Jesus est l'aboutissement et pièce maitresse de l'écriture chorale. Dans un style miniaturiste, son opéra Savitri est le précurseur de l'opéra de chambre de Britten. Il écrit donc une musique naturelle dynamique, intemporelle, toujours différente et généralement brève. Dans un art minimaliste, Egdon Heath révèle la section dorée et immortalise la culture de son pays, les bruits et les sentiments avec le double concerto, Hammersmith et le lyric movement. Composer, choirmaster and orchestra conductor, teacher, organist, trombonist of band and orchestra, Holst dominates his art. An exceptionally gifted child, as Mozart, he was misunderstood. To counter difficulties, host looked to a musical language accessible to all of us. He did not neglect anything to achieve his goal and studied Sanskrit culture and philosophy. In the Bhagavad-gita, he found wisdom in life and realizes that originality was all around him. Chance will take him to the Dulwich Picture Gallery where he get the revelation of Poussin's message (the expression of passion with the help of Greek musical modes). From there, Holst completed his musical message by image and the movement to reach a total art but as Scriabin he did not had the time to complete his ideal. Holst's visionary communication for all came from the audition of Didon and Aeneas: the English language with its irregular rhythms, its stresses, its sounds. The planets symphonic suite in 7 movements is the English idiom of which The Hymn of Jesus is the result and a masterpiece of choral writing. In a miniaturist style, his opera Savitri is the precursor of Britten’s English chamber opera. Holst's music is naturally dynamic, timeless, always different and generally short. In a minimalist art, Egdon Heath discloses the golden section and immortalizes his country culture, the sound and sentiment with some score as the double concerto, Hammersmith and the lyric movement. Abstract:

This thesis concerns itself with seven of the major Pribehy (narrative poems) written by the Czech poet Vladimir Holan between 1939 and 1955. It does not attempt a full analysis of all of the pribehy, nor does it rely on any preformed critical or theoretical apparatus. Various influences on Holan's poetry, including the importance of Russian poetry for Holan's wartime narratives, are initially investigated.The first narrative, Prvni testament, introduces the broader thematic and lexical perspectives. The analysis of Cesta mraku brings a further examination of influences and intertextuality, e.g. exploring the centrality of Milton in Holan's poetics. Suggestions for an approach to the prosody of the wartime narratives concludes this part of the thesis. An analysis of the post-war poem Navrat emphasises how Holan's mature presentation of themes such as Fate, suffering, innocence, spirituality versus corporeality, and the role of the poet begin to come into focus in the late 1940s. The account of Zuzana v lazni offers the most comprehensive exegesis in the thesis, showing how Holan combines historical sources, biblical and poetic resonances to shape Zuzana v lazni into one of the key poems in the cycle. The role of poet as prophet and outcast is further explored in analyses of three short narratives from the early 1950s. A discussion of the post-war free-verse prosody follows. The thesis concludes by showing how the poet figure metamorphoses into the poet-prophet, viewed as pari of the onward continuum of visionary poets. Holan's Pribehy are seen as meditations on poetry, the poet, and the act of engaged reading. Poetry, in Holan's view, is a unique medium through which to contemplate and grapple, through difficulty, with the enigmatic in human existence, exploiting complex potentials of imagery, myth and language.

Abstract:

In this article, animal science student Nicole Holt describes her research being done at the Larsson Lab, a lab associated with the College of Nursing, and the CO-OP (Caring for Our Own Program). She is creating scientific illustrations of how silver diamine fluoride (SDF) acts on the tooth so that people will be more likely to allow dental hygienists to use SDF on their children’s teeth. While the drawings are being aired on GoodHealthTV in Indian Health Services clinics across the state, surveys will be given to viewers to measure the effectiveness of the illustrations. Overall, the goal of this research is to be able to show visually how SDF works and to study how education on the treatment affects parents’ willingness to allow it to be used on their children.

Abstract:

A red oak-white pine ecosystem on Maine’s coast, Holt Research Forest (HRF), has filled a key niche of long-term ecosystem monitoring since its establishment in 1983. While many landowners in Maine steward oak-pine forests, HRF is a rare research generator on this critical forest type. A recent harvest at HRF in the fall of 2020 provided a timely opportunity to monitor and distribute data on the impact of disturbance on oak-pine ecosystems, particularly in the context of climate change. With funding provided by the Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Fund through Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative, we collected, digitized, and distributed pre- and post-harvest data on overstory composition and regeneration at HRF. This effort gave landowners practical data and tools to inform their management while providing researchers with a long-term foundational dataset for future studies. It additionally contributed to an established body of research from HRF, housed by FEMC, tracking ecosystem change on-site as climate change shifts ecological systems across the region. Lastly, the project contributed to workforce development in forestry and forest research by providing students and early-career professionals with practical, applied experience working in the field and with HRF datasets.

Abstract:

The NHS Scotland Climate Emergency and Sustainability Strategy requires that all health boards assess the value of the benefits that arise from NHS natural capital resources such as the green and blue spaces and biodiversity found within their outdoor estate. Scottish Environment, Food and Agriculture Research Institute (SEFARI) Gateway, jointly with Public Health Scotland (PHS) awarded a Fellowship to the named authors of this study to obtain reference health and wellbeing Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) economic values of the NHS Scotland outdoor estate. The research derived from this Fellowship builds on previous research commissioned by NatureScot and PHS (Holt et al., 2023). The study aims to characterise how NHS Scotland’s green, blue, or open spaces (e.g., NHS Scotland open spaces) are used and calculate the economic values derived from leisure and recreation in different outdoor spaces across different users. The results in this Report provide a better understanding of the flow of economic benefits across the NHS and the economy and provide evidence to inform the value of social and economic benefits that arise from investment in NHS open spaces. The methods described in this Report are applicable not only to the NHS estate but can be transferred to value similar public and private open (e.g. outdoor) spaces.
