Abstract:
In order to understand the intricate processes involved in second language teacher development, in the last decade studies in second language teacher education (SLTE) have addressed the need to explore pre-service teachers’ beliefs and emotions jointly as they occur in their contexts of teaching. SLTE researchers have referred to the importance of helping pre-service teachers verbalize their beliefs and try to understand and regulate their emotions as they can serve to explain what, how, and why pre-service teachers do what they do during their practicum experience. Abstract:
E-learning is a significant model of learning, but questions are being raised about the trade-offs in switching from traditional classroom-based learning to e-learning; for example, e-learning is cost-effective, provides round the clock accessible and convenience, but there are questions raised about its quality and effectiveness. E-learning facilitates the delivery of education and training to anyone, anytime and anywhere. The development and delivery of e-learning materials, by several organisations, and higher education institutions is under-pinned by a desire to solve authentic teaching, l

Abstract:
Despite an increasing recognition of the need for an integrative approach to sustainable development, there remains a tendency for this to be anthropocentric. Attempts to govern sustainability are invariably focused on the pre-eminence of the human perspective and social systems in the pursuit of human goals. This often means either excluding or attempting to control the external environment rather than understanding and responding to it. This thesis explores more holistic approaches to governance that are based upon the need for an improved understanding about the interconnections between soc

Interest in food and nutrition education is growing in response to the need for a focus on health within the community. It has in the past however been largely overlooked in schools. Schools have the opportunity to influence food decisions by cost effectively reaching a wide audience who have an interest in food. Present education reforms in Australia offer the opportunity for food and nutrition education to take its vital place in the school setting. Food and nutrition promotion in schools is often perceived as curriculum based. This is neither the best nor the only approach. Tuckshops

In this study, I investigate how foreign language anxiety affects students’ performance during oral presentations. The study also explores how secondary school teachers in Sweden work with anxious students before, during and after an oral presentation and what approaches and exercises they find effective to use when doing so. Foreign language anxiety is a relatively new subject within language education and impacts language learning in various, mostly negative, ways. This paper presents an active component damage reducing control approach for driving manoeuvres of a wheel loader. For this purpose, the front and rear axle loads will be manipulated by force pulses induced into the machine chassis via the lifting cylinders of the function drive. The essential advantage of such methods against linear control approaches is that no descriptive system properties are required, but the algorithm automatically determines the system behaviour. Face analysis from 2D images and videos is a central task in many computer vision applications. Methods developed to this end perform either face recognition or facial expression recognition, and in both cases, results are negatively influenced by variations in pose, illumination, and resolution of the face. Such variations have a lower impact on 3D face data, which has given the way to the idea of using a 3D Morphable Model as an intermediate tool to enhance face analysis on 2D data. The purpose of this qualitative research study, which utilizes a phenomenological inquiry method, is to inquire into the awareness of what it means to be a whole teacher from the perspective of the philosophy of Jiddu Krishnamurti, a philosopher/spiritual teacher. Four participants (teachers) were interviewed from the Oak Grove School, an alternative, holistic school founded by Krishnamurti in 1974. The only way to determine if learning has taken place, i.e. whether there is a permanent change in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains of the learner, is to measure the learning. Researchers may find many materials that deal with reading, memorizing, and reciting the Qur'an, along with references that deal with science and math in the Qur'an.
