Abstract:
Background Acute upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) and their complications are the most frequent cause of antibiotic prescribing in primary care. With multi-resistant organisms proliferating, appropriate alternative treatments to these conditions are urgently required. Homeopathy presents one solution; however, there are many methods of homeopathic prescribing. This review of the literature considers firstly whether homeopathy offers a viable alternative therapeutic solution for acute URTIs and their complications, and secondly how such homeopathic intervention might take place. Method Critical review of post 1994 clinical studies featuring homeopathic treatment of acute URTIs and their complications. Study design, treatment intervention, cohort group, measurement and outcome were considered. Discussion focused on the extent to which homeopathy is used to treat URTIs, rate of improvement and tolerability of the treatment, complications of URTIs, prophylactic and long-term effects, and the use of combination versus single homeopathic remedies. Results Multiple peer-reviewed studies were found in which homeopathy had been used to treat URTIs and associated symptoms (cough, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, acute sinusitis, etc.). Nine randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and 8 observational/cohort studies were analysed, 7 of which were paediatric studies. Seven RCTs used combination remedies with multiple constituents. Results for homeopathy treatment were positive overall, with faster resolution, reduced use of antibiotics and possible prophylactic and longer-term benefits. Conclusions Variations in size, location, cohort and outcome measures make comparisons and generalisations concerning homeopathic clinical trials for URTIs problematic. Nevertheless, study findings suggest at least equivalence between homeopathy and conventional treatment for uncomplicated URTI cases, with fewer adverse events and potentially broader therapeutic outcomes. The use of non-individualised homeopathic compounds tailored for the paediatric population merits further investigation, including through cohort studies. In the light of antimicrobial resistance, homeopathy offers alternative strategies for minor infections and possible prevention of recurring URTIs.

Abstract:
A 6 yr old, male, neutered Weimaraner was treated homeopathically for nasal aspergillosis after failing to respond to two treatments of topical (intranasal) clotrimazole and oral amoxicillin trihydrate/clavulanate potassium. Computed tomography, rhinoscopy, fungal culture, and cytology previously confirmed the diagnosis. At presentation for homeopathic treatment, the dog had aggressive left-sided sinusitis and rhinitis with destruction of nasal turbinates and severe bouts of epistaxis. Erosion and depigmentation of the nasal planum were evident. After two treatments with homeopathic aurum metallicum, resolution of clinical signs occurred and clearance of the aspergillosis organisms was documented by computed tomographic scan, rhinoscopy, and histopathology. Homeopathic aurum metallicum may be beneficial in treating cases of canine nasal aspergillosis.

Abstract:
AbstractAllergic rhinitis and sinusitis are one of the most common chronic upper respiratory tract medical conditions. As they occur simultaneously or coexist together, the correct term for these conditions will be allergic rhinosinusitis. The challenging question arises in mind whether all allergic patients are immune deficient in some way. Therefore, samples from well-diagnosed allergic patients need to be evaluated genetically using a candidate gene and a whole-genome scan approach. A better understanding of the pathogenesis and the causative factors responsible for increased mucosal inflammation is important for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools. Previous research showed the association between sensitisation tendency and the genetic factors associated with allergic upper respiratory tract conditions. More research needs to be conducted on genetic factors component for allergic chronic rhinosinusitis. Homeopathy offers lot of potential in treating various genetic disorders and it has contributed in treating patients with allergic, autoimmune and hereditary disorders worldwide. In homeopathy science, more research needs to be published which includes patient cases—who has been treated successfully with homeopathy medicines for allergic chronic rhinosinusitis.

Abstract:
Introduction. The relevance of the problem of rhinosinusitis in different ages is due to their high prevalence. The article presents information with approaches of the treatment rhinosinusitis in children, which allow preventing irreversible changes in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. The importance of eliminating dysregulation in biological networks underlying the disease is noted. Such capabilities are possessed by means of bioregulatory medicine.Aim of the study: To carry out a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of chronic rhinosinusitis treatment with Euphorbium compositum and conventional methods of therapy in children.Materials and methods: We conducted retro- and prospective study in children’s polyclinic No. 1 and homeopathic center “Homeopathic medicine” in Samara. There were 66 children aged 7 to 12 years old diagnosed with chronic rhinosinusitis under observation. The children were observed in two groups for 2 years. Results. In chronic sinusitis within 2 weeks after the beginning of the course of therapy significant symptomatic improvement was registered in 75.8% of the patients receiving Euforbium compositum and in 71.3% of the patients receiving conventional medical therapy. During the clinical observations there was not a single case of adverse effects against the background of Euphorbium compositum therapy, the patients’ general condition and nasal breathing parameters reliably improved.Results. Numerous scientific studies noted: the ability of nasal spray Euphorbium compositum to have a complex multi-target effect on the process of inflammation, on the state of nasal mucous membranes; safety and effectiveness.Conclusions. Complex bioregulating action of Euphorbium compositum Nasentropfen C allows to control and optimize the course of chronic inflammatory process in rhinosinusitis. Its application promotes restoration of structure and function of nasal cavity mucosa, it is not accompanied by complications. These characteristics in combination with good tolerability make it possible to use the drug for treatment of rhinosinusitis.

Abstract:
AbstractObjective:To assess the evidence surrounding the use of certain complementary supplements in otolaryngology. We specifically focussed on four commonly used supplements: spirulina, Ginkgo biloba, Vertigoheel® and nutritional supplements (cod liver oil, multivitamins and pineapple enzyme).Materials and methods:A systematic review of the English and foreign language literature. Inclusion criteria: in vivo human studies. Exclusion criteria: animal trials, in vitro studies and case reports. We also excluded other forms of ‘alternative medicine’ such as reflexology, acupuncture and other homeopathic remedies. Results:Lack of common outcome measures prevented a formal meta-analysis. Three studies on the effects of spirulina in allergy, rhinitis and immunomodulation were found. One was a double-blind, placebo, randomised, controlled trial (RCT) of patients with allergic rhinitis, demonstrating positive effects in patients fed spirulina for 12 weeks. The other two studies, although non-randomised, also reported a positive role for spirulina in mucosal immunity. Regarding the use of Ginkgo biloba in tinnitus, a Cochrane review published in 2004 showed no evidence for this. The one double-blind, placebo-controlled trial that followed confirmed this finding. Regarding the use of Vertigoheel in vertigo, two double-blind RCTs and a meta-analysis were identified. The first RCT suggested that Vertigoheel was equally effective in reducing the severity, duration and frequency of vertigo compared with betahistine. The second RCT suggested that Vertigoheel was a suitable alternative to G biloba in the treatment of atherosclerosis-related vertigo. A meta-analysis of only four clinical trials confirms that Vertigoheel was equally effective compared with betahistine, G biloba and dimenhydrinate. Regarding multivitamins and sinusitis, two small paediatric pilot studies reported a positive response for chronic sinusitis and otitis media following a course of multivitamins and cod liver oil. Regarding bromelain (pineapple enzyme) and sinusitis, one randomised, multicentre trial including 116 children compared bromelain monotherapy to bromelain with standard therapy and standard therapy alone, for the treatment of acute sinusitis. The bromelain monotherapy group showed a faster recovery compared with the other groups. Conclusion:The positive effects of spirulina in allergic rhinitis and of Vertigoheel in vertigo are based on good levels of evidence, but larger trials are required. There is overwhelming evidence that G biloba may play no role in tinnitus. There is limited evidence for the use of multivitamins in sinus symptoms, and larger randomised trials are required.

Abstract:
Background Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is frequently used in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) in developed countries. With a plethora of CAM therapies available, their effectiveness and safety are poorly understood in the context of CRS. Objectives This article aims to critically appraise the evidence for CAM use in CRS through a systematic review of current literature that investigate the effects of CAM on symptoms and clinical status of adults with CRS. Study Design Systematic review and qualitative analysis. Review Methods A comprehensive systematic review of the literature was conducted by the authors using 5 databases from inception to July 2017: CINAHL, Cochrane, Embase, PubMed, and SCOPUS. Inclusive medical subject headings and keywords consisted of, but were not limited to, sinusitis and complementary therapies, naturopathy, or traditional Chinese medicine. PRISMA guideline was followed. Using templates by Cochrane Public Health Group and Newcastle-Ottawa Scale, each author extracted data, assessed bias, and computed minimal clinically important difference. Any conflicts were resolved through discussion. Results In total, 7 of 7141 articles from 1995 to 2016 were included. Three randomized controlled trials and 4 observational studies were organized into 4 categories of CAM: naturopathy, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, and others. Limited evidence supported the use of Pimpinella anisum and crenotherapy for CRS. Data available on Chinese medicine, homeopathy, and liposomal therapy in CRS were inconclusive due to inherent flaws in the studies. Conclusion Overall, there is very limited evidence to support the use of CAM in the treatment of CRS. No significant adverse effects have been found. Given its widespread use, more rigorous data from high-quality research are needed before it can be routinely recommended.

Abstract:
Herbal and homeopathic compounds have been used to aid in childbearing and pregnancy for centuries. Much of this information is anecdotal and lacks scientific support, making it difficult to evaluate safety and efficacy. Increased public interest in alternative treatments leads to the need for a systematic review on the topic. Herbal remedies are most often used to treat the most common pregnancy-related problems like nausea, stretch marks and varicose veins. In contrast to this, concerns have also been raised about the adverse effects of these remedies. The primary objective of this research project was to conduct a systematic review to assess the maternal and neonatal outcomes of ingested herbal and homeopathic remedies using during pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.

Abstract:
Oral lichen planus(OLP) is a chronic mucosal condition commonly encountered in Oral Medicine departments. It can cause patients significant discomfort, and only a small percentage, undergo complete remission. Recalcitrant lesions can be treated with various systemic medications including steroids. There is to date only weak evidence to suggest that these treatments are superior to placebo. This study was performed to determine whether homeopathic arsenicum album is useful in the treatment of OLP. A randomised double-blind clinical trial comparing homeopathic arsenicum album with placebo was carried out in the oral medicine department of the Edinburgh Dental Institute. The study covered a six-week period and ninety four patients participated. They were randomly assigned to a 6c homeopathic preparation of arsenicum album or to placebo, with all participants receiving placebo for the first week. After a pre-treatment visit, clinical review took place two and six weeks after commencing therapy. The same clinician scored the extent of the oral condition at all visits, and alleviation of symptoms was evaluated using a visual analogue scale diary and the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital outcome scale. Ninety-two patients completed the study. No significant difference between the groups was seen on the visual analogue scores and there was no significance difference between the two groups with regard to response to treatment. However patients who were good prescribers for arsenicum album did show a difference between the groups with regard to response to treatment, which although not achieving statistical significance was strongly suggestive of an association. In conclusion homeopathic arsenicum album may be useful in the treatment of OLP, but more extensive studies need to be performed.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reaction of homoeopathic Luffa Operculata and a combination of Kalium Bichromicum and Cinnabaris on chronic sinusitis patients, with reference to the patients' perception of the treatment and the physical appearance of the nasal mucosa during treatment in order to determine the effectiveness of the two modes of treatment. Fourty patients were randomly selected and divided into two experimental groups . The study was double blind. The one group received Luffa Operculata and the other group received a combination of Kalium Bichromicum and Cinnabaris. Questionnaires were answered before and during the four month treatment period in order to assess the patients perception of the treatment. The physical appearance of the nasal mucosa was inspected on a monthly basis using a nasal speculum. Eight patients dropped out over the four month period. All data obtained from the questionnaires was depicted on spreadsheets and subsequently analysed using frequency tables, cross tabulation ,. Mann-Whitney-U-Test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that both modes of treatment were equally effective in reducing the sinusitis headaches, with Luffa Operculata having a 44.1% decrease and Kalium 8ichromicum and Cinnabaris having a 37.3% decrease. The Mann-Whitney-U-Test was done within each group and showed values of P=O.033 and P=O.31 respectively, thereby indicating a statistically significant difference. There was no significant difference between the groups. However Luffa Operculata's results were more positive with respect to post-nasal drip, facial swelling, nasal mucosal swelling and nasal mucosal colour. The most dramatic difference in results occurred in the analysis of the fatigue data, where Luffa Operculata had a 44% decrease and Kalium 8ichromicum and Cinnabar is only had a 6% decrease.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment on primary dysmenorrhoea in terms of patient's perception to the treatment. A sample of thirty patients was randomly chosen from the greater Durban area in response to advertisements that had been placed in various advertising media. They were then screened for the delimitations and sent to a registered gynaecologist for an internal examination and confirmatory diagnosis of primary dysmenorrhoea. Each patient then underwent a medical and homeopathic consultation and examination on the first day of their menstrual cycle, and a patient perception questionnaire was completed with the researcher so as to establish a baseline. The study followed a double-blind protocol with a neutral member dividing the sample into a control and treatment group. The treatment group received simillimum treatment in the form of a chronic remedy taken twice a week and one or two symptomatic remedies taken on a daily basis. The control group received placebo. For the duration of the eight month trial period, each patient was reassessed on their first day of their menstrual cycle to allow for any needed changes to their treatment regimen, and to allow for the patient's perception to the treatment to be recorded in the researcher's presence.

Abstract:
Objectives: To study the expression of cathelicidin antimicrobial peptides (CAMP) and surfactant protein D (SP-D) in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and eosinophilic mucus chronic rhinosinusitis (EMCRS) and by a nasal explant in vitro model cultured with fungal allergens. Methods: Nasal biopsies from 59 CRS and EMCRS patients, stratified into Allergic fungal sinusitis (AFS), Nonallergic fungal eosinophilic sinusitis (NAFES), and Nonallergic nonfungal eosinophilic sinusitis (NANFES) were studied by quantitative real-time (q)RTPCR, Western blot, immunostaining and ELISA. Nasal tissue from CRS and EMCRS patients were cultured with increasing concentrations of fungal allergens in a nasal explant in vitro model for 24 hours and CAMP and SP-D mRNA and protein levels in response to the fungi were determined by qRT-PCR and ELISA. Results: The expression of CAMP mRNA was significantly increased in EMCRS patients compared to CRS patients (p=0.0004). By immunohistochemistry, expression of CAMP was localised to nasal epithelial, submucosal glands and inflammatory subepithelial cells. Western blotting demonstrated the presence of CAMP in the study patients. Culturing nasal explants with fungal allergens demonstrated significant upregulation of CAMP mRNA expression in CRS, but not EMCRS patients, by Aspergillus (mean 4-fold increase) and Alternaria (mean 6-fold increase) extracts with a significant dose-response effect (p<0.001). CAMP protein levels in the nasal tissue from CRS patients increased in response to Alternaria (p<0.05). In contrast, with EMCRS patients the expression of CAMP peptide in nasal tissue increased with Aspergillus (p<0.001) but decreased with Alternaria. Staining for SP-D was detected in the submucosal glands from the nasal biopsies in all patient groups except for AFS. By ELISA, SP-D was undetectable in AFS and decreased in NAFES, NANFES, and CRS compared to controls. CRS patients cultured with Aspergillus and Alternaria allergens in the in vitro nasal explant model induced significant upregulation of SP-D mRNA (p<0.0001). In contrast, NANFES nasal tissue explants cultured with Aspergillus allergens induced downregulation of SP-D and only a modest upregulation of SP-D mRNA to Alternaria allergens. Conclusion: This study demonstrates expression of cathelicidin antimicrobial peptides and surfactant proteins in nasal mucosa supporting its potential role in innate defences against inhaled pathogens. There is significant upregulation of CAMP mRNA in the EMCRS group implying an increased inflammatory state. In vitro, CAMP is significantly upregulated at the mRNA and protein level in CRS tissue explants to Aspergillus and Alternaria allergens. However, EMCRS tissue cultured with Alternaria in vitro does not demonstrate increased CAMP at the mRNA or protein level. The expression of SP-D in nasal tissue is reported for the first time. SP-D expression in the CRS, but not the EMCRS group, is upregulated in vitro by Aspergillus and Alternaria. The EMCRS group compared to CRS group demonstrate abnormal CAMP and SP-D expression to common fungal allergens. These important findings in understanding the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis are discussed in this thesis and may provide potential novel therapies for chronic rhinosinusitis in the future.

Abstract:
M.Tech. (Homoeopathy)
Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is the inflammation of the nasal and often conjunctival mucous membrane. It manifests due to the exposure of inhaled allergic agents and results in an immunoglobulin E (lgE) mediated reaction (DiPiro et al., 2002; Shargel et al., 2001). Allergic rhinitis is characterised by four principle symptoms, watery rhinorrhoea, nasal obstruction, nasal itching and sneezing (Min, 2010). In addition to the cardinal symptoms experienced during AR other common symptoms include postnasal drip, pruritic eyes; ears; nose and palate (Kemp, 2009). Although allergic rhinitis is not life threatening, the adverse impact on quality of life is significant. Those affected by allergic rhinitis are restricted in their ability to carry out their normal daily activities (Nelson, 2007; Wilson et al., 2002). Sleep, social interaction, emotional well being as well as cognitive and psychomotor function are affected by allergic rhinitis, and can lead to impaired learning ability. Serious disorders such as eczema, asthma, sinusitis, otitis media, nasal polyposis, respiratory infections and orthodontic malocclusions are. frequently linked with allergic rhinitis (DiPiro et al., 2002; Kemp, 2009)., The therapeutic goal for patients suffering with allergic rhinitis is to prevent or minimise symptoms, using treatment with minimal or no side effects and of reasonable expense, so that patients may maintain a normal lifestyle (DiPiro et aI., 2002). One of the most frequent indications for which homoeopathic treatment is sought after is for respiratory allergies (Ramchandani, 2009). Thus it has been proposed that the remedies contained within Otirin Nasal Spray"; namely Allium cepa, Euphrasia officinalis, Luffa operculata and Sabadilla officinarummay be effective as a treatment for allergic rhinitis (Vermeulen, 2000). Otirin Nasal Spray" is a homoeopathic complex preparation indicated for allergic rhinitis. No specific research has been conducted on this product to determine its efficacy in this condition (Medford, 2008). The aim of this research study was to determine the efficacy of Otirin Nasal Spray" in the treatment of allergic rhinitis with regard to the severity Of symptoms; specifically on the symptoms relating to the nose, eyes, throat, mouth and ears. Diary cards and questionnaires were completed, making use of the severity of symptoms scores to grade the symptoms. This research study was a quantitative" double-blind, placebo-controlled study and included thirty participants suffering from AR. Participants volunteered to participate in the study, were over the age of eighteen and consented to the procedures of the research study. Participants involved in the study were randomly divided into a treatment (experimental) group and a control (placebo) group. The treatment group received the Otirin Nasal Spray'" as opposed to the control group who received the placebo nasal spray (saline nasal spray). The research study was conducted over a period of four weeks at the UJ Health Centre. Participants were instructed to complete an individual "Treatment Diary Card" (Appendix E) during each hayfever attack by scoring the severity of each symptom they suffered from. During the final consultation the "Response to Treatment Questionnaire" (Appendix F) was completed under the researcher's supervision. This questionnaire required participants to score an amelioration, aggravation, no change or not applicable for each symptom, as well as other associated symptoms. Results acquired from the research study were statistically analysed by Statkon at the University of Johannesburg by means of descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric tests. The parametric test included the Independent Samples TTest. Non-parametric tests included the Friedman Test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank, and Mann-Whitney U Test. This research study determined that the homoeopathically prepared Otirin Nasal Spray" did have a statistically significant effect in the treatment of allergic rhinitis symptoms. A trend towards a decrease in the severity of the participant's symptoms was observed, in particular for rhinorrhoea, sneezing, nasal blockage/congestion, pruritic/itchy eyes and postnasal drip.

Allergic rhinitis, otherwise referred to as hay fever, is a common allergic reaction affecting the nose, throat, eyes, and respiratory system, of persons of all ages and both sexes. This study attempted to demonstrate the effect of the homoeopathically prepared remedy Sabadilla officinarum 30CH and Sabadilla officinarum 200CH in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Thirty participants were selected for this one hour, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. The participants were randomly placed into one of three groups of ten, consisting of the control group, and the two experimental groups. The control group received the placebo medication. The first experimental group received Sabadilla officinarum 30CH, and the second experimental group received Sabadilla officinarum 200CH. The patients were all supplied with: a stat dose of medication to use at the time of an allergic rhinitis attack, a diary card on which to score the severity of their symptoms at the time of such an attack, and a response to treatment questionnaire to fill in after the completion of their treatment. The results were statistically analysed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, the Kruskal Wallis Test, and descriptive statistics. The results show that treatment with Sabadilla officinarum 30CH and 200CH had a significant effect in improving the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

Swanepoel, Marlo. "The efficacy of a homoeopathic complex topical cream on diaper dermatitis." Thesis, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/10210/8210.

Abstract:
M.Tech.
Diaper dermatitis (Nappy Rash) is an acute inflammation of the skin in the diaper area and is the most common cutaneous disease among infants and children (Concannon et al., 2001). It is estimated that 7% - 35% of diaper wearing infants are affected by Diaper dermatitis during the period of wearing diapers (Barkin and Rosen, 2003). The exact prevalence is not known as many cases are selfmedicated by parents or guardians (Wolf et al., 2000). Diaper dermatitis causes severe discomfort to the infants as well as anxiety and worry for the parents. Diaper dermatitis is characterised by redness, inflammation, dryness, scaling, itching, irritability, pain, satellite lesions, papulovesicular or pustular eruptions, and in severe cases ulceration of the skin (Visscher and Hoath, 2006). This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a Homoeopathic complex cream as a topical treatment for Diaper dermatitis. The complex consisted of Atropa belladonna 6cH, Calendula officinalis D1 and Sulphuricum acidum 6cH. Madaji milking cream was used as a base which contained: chlorhexidene; vitamin E; and lanolin. The treatment group received the medicated Madaji milking cream whereas the control group received the unmedicated Madaji milking cream. The Diaper dermatitis was evaluated using a 4-Point Grading Scale (Appendix D) and The Modified Lund and Browder Chart (Appendix E). Forty participants who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were recruited to participate in this double blind control study by means of advertisements (Appendix A) that were placed on notice boards at the various campuses of the University of Johannesburg, nursery schools and hospitals, with relevant permission given. Participants were also recruited via word of mouth. Once participants were accepted into the study they were allocated to either Group A or Group B using matched pairs according to severity in order to ensure equal v distribution in both groups. There were 20 participants in each group. Group A was the treatment group which received the medicated Madaji milking cream. Group B was the control group which received the unmedicated Madaji cream. The study was completed over a seven day period. The ten areas most commonly affected by Diaper dermatitis were evaluated on the initial visit, day two, day four and day seven.

Abstract:
M.Tech.
This research was conducted to determine the effect of homoeopathic treatment on acute gout patients. Putterman (1994) conducted a research study on the effect of the homoeopathic remedy Colchicum autumnale in gout, and found partial improvement in the clinical picture of gout. No research has been conducted in South Africa on the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in acute gout patients. This study focused on the homoeopathic Law of Similars, where a single most similar homoeopathic remedy was chosen according to the unique characteristic symptoms displayed by each participant suffering with acute gout. This was a qualitative study that used ten subjects who presented within five days of acute gout and participated in the fifteen-day study period. Participants that complied with the American College of Rheumatology (formerly American Rheumatism Association, ACR) criteria for gout were selected. Serum uric acid tests were taken on day 0 and day 6 to assess hyperuricemia. On day 0 a thorough case history and examination was taken followed by administration of the indicated remedy. Treatment efficacy was evaluated on day 1, 3 and 6, based on daily subjective impression of participant involvement, objective analysis and comparative analysis of serum uric acid. Re-examination for relapses or rebound attacks followed on day 15. In a study using allopathic remedies in acute gout, resolution of all acute gout symptoms occurred at an average of 8 days using indomethacin and 7 days using triamcinolone (Alloway et. al., 1993). In this study using homoeopathic similimum treatment, resolution of all acute gout symptoms occurred at an average of 6 days. One episode of a rebound gout attack occurred and serum uric acid decreased in 80% of patients. Homoeopathic similimum prescribing is an effective alternative treatment for acute gout. Although more research is required, the preliminary findings of this study suggest that the correct homoeopathic similimum treatment is an effective treatment for the symptoms of acute gout.
