En este trabajo se ha realizado un an?lisis de cuatro cuentos de Mia Couto (2005) pertenecientes al libro Cada homem ? uma ra?a: O embondeiro que sonhava p?ssaros ; A princesa russa ; O pescador cego y A lenda da noiva e do forasteiro . El estudio, bajo la perspectiva de memoria y oralidad, mantiene en foco la observaci?n sobre la transformaci?n de los componentes de la realidad sociocultural e hist?rica de Mozambique en elementos de ficci?n literaria. Ese recorrido esclarece, en parte, la unidad org?nica que constituye la obra y que gira en torno de los elementos de la tradici?n, la memoria y la oralidad. Este punto es un importante marcador de diferencias, pues las sociedades escritas han dado menos importancia a lo que es transmitido oralmente, dejando lo que es tradici?n en un segundo plano. Se trata de una comprensi?n que acab? por provocar la distorsi?n del pensamiento sobre lo que es tradici?n oral, algo que no se resume a leyendas, cuentos de hadas, folclores y danzas. De esta manera ha de considerarse a la memoria inscripta en cada s?mbolo como algo que justifica al ser y que lo identifica como individuo poseedor de una historia colectiva
Neste trabalho realizamos uma an?lise de quatro contos de Mia Couto (2005) do livro Cada homem ? uma ra?a: O embondeiro que sonhava p?ssaros ; A princesa russa ; O pescador cego e A lenda da noiva e do forasteiro . O Estudo, sob a perspectiva da mem?ria e da oralidade, tem como foco a observa??o da transforma??o dos componentes da realidade sociocultural e hist?rica de Mo?ambique em elementos de fic??o liter?ria. Esse percurso elucida, em parte, a unidade org?nica que constitui a obra e que gira em torno dos elementos da tradi??o mem?ria e oralidade. Nosso estudo verificou a import?ncia desses componentes culturais para a harmonia institucional da sociedade, e o quanto velam pela tradi??o, pelo conhecimento transmitido de gera??o a gera??o atrav?s da oralidade. Este ponto ? um importante marcador de diferen?as. Pois as sociedades escritas d?o menos import?ncia ao que ? transmitido oralmente, deixando o que ? tradi??o para segundo plano. Trata-se de uma compreens?o que acabou por provocar o pensamento distorcido a respeito do que ? tradi??o oral, a qual n?o se resume a lendas, contos de fadas, dan?as e folclores. Abstract:
This thesis examined the challenges facing the public sector implementation of community and home based early childhood development (ECD) programmes for vulnerable children aged 0-4 years in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape, South Africa. A qualitative case-study approach was used. The unit of analysis was the Department of Social Development (DoSD) as they are the public sector funders of non-profit organizations (NPOs) who deliver these services. The thesis included a literature review, a policy document review, and the collection and analysis of six interviews with officials involved in implementation of the National Integrated Plan for Early Childhood Development 2005–2010 (NIP for ECD). The data was organised using organizational coding and conceptually ordered displays, and analysed using the 5-C protocol of implementation as the overarching conceptual framework. The findings of the study showed that the main challenges facing the DoSD in the implementation of community and home-based ECD are: (1) Human resources that are stretched to capacity at the provincial and district level, primarily social workers who are unable to manage current services; (2) inadequate line item funding to scale up the provision of services in order to fulfill the mandate of the NIP for ECD (2005); (3) a shortage of NPOs to scale up services, current service providers already suffer with their own capacity constraints; (4) a lack of norms and standards for funding community and home-based ECD; (5) the social sector currently prioritizes centre-based ECD (in terms of funding and training) over community and home-based ECD. Another critical shortcoming is a lack of information regarding provision of services and a lack of South African evidence based research to assist implementers in making rationing decisions at the provincial level. Officials at the DoSD however display commitment to, and recognize the need to, support community and home-based ECD. The officials are however limited in doing so due to capacity constraints.

In the Czech Republic, about one per cent of children grow up outside their own families, mainly children under the age of three. For this reason the Czech Republic has lately received several important challenges concerning a fundamental reform of the children at risk care system. The aim of my thesis was to carry out an analysis of the development and changes in the comprehensive care and in the situation of the children in the Children?s Centre Jihlava and in the Children?s Home Kamenice nad Lipou in the years 2005, 2010 and 2011 in chosen aspects. The research was focused on changes over time in the situation of concrete children?s homes, further on the changes in the provided care depending on the children?s characteristics and specific needs, and finally on the changes in the cooperation with the biological families and in the circumstances how the stay of children is terminated. To achieve these goals of my thesis, a secondary data analysis and SWOT analysis was carried out. Two files were analysed recording the situation in the Children?s Centre and in the Children?s Home during the the years 2005, 2010 and 2011.

Background: The unintentional injury is the first factor of child death at 1 to 14 years old. There are seldom studies focused on unintentional home injury first aid on children parent’s knowledge and self-efficacy. Purpose: The purpose of study is to explore the knowledge and self-efficacy of unintentional home injury first aid in parents with children aged 0 to 4. Methods: The study is a cross-sectional designed. A total of 445 parents were recruited. Data were collected by purposive sampling at the public health community center (8 districts) in Taichung. The measurement is a self developed questionnaire with 37 questions. Results: 1. The result revealed that the mean score of first aid knowledge was 72.1%. The lowest score was the knowledge related with Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. The participants who were older, higher education, Taiwanese, higher incomes, being attended first aid training, having learning needs, having first aid information from medical staffs, and school, had better knowledge of first aid. 2. The mean score of self-efficacy was 26.6%. Participants showed the lowest score of self-efficacy in choking. The participants who was male, Taiwanese, being attended first aid training, having learning needs, having first aid information from medical staffs, had higher score of self-efficacy in first aid. 3. There is a significantly positive correlation between knowledge and self efficacy of first aid. 4. The predictive factors of self-efficacy are knowledge of first aid, being attended first aid training, having first aid information from media, having first aid information from medical staffs, and having unintentional injury experiences. These variables explained as 30% of all variation. Conclusions: The results suggest that the educational program of unintentional injury first aid need to be increased. First aid knowledge and related experience provided by health professionals would be better information for increasing the parents’ knowledge and self-efficacy of first aid.

Este trabalho teve como objetivo fundamental a construção, aplicação e avaliação dos efeitos de um programa de educação parental universal, numa vertente preventiva, designado como – Pacifier – visando a sua implementação nos Cuidados de Saúde Primários, a pais de crianças dos 0 aos 6 meses e com carácter domiciliário. Foi construído com base numa revisão da literatura e práticas baseadas em evidência sobre parentalidade positiva e programas de educação parental e posteriormente aplicado a quatro mães e dois pais – dois casais e duas mães –, sendo que os efeitos foram avaliados de acordo com um modelo de estudos de caso múltiplos, constituídos por quatro famílias. Neste sentido, de modo a medir os objetivos que definimos para o programa, realizámos uma avaliação inicial e final com os instrumentos adaptados Sentido de Competência Parental e Inventário sobre o Conhecimento de Desenvolvimento Infantil. Ainda incluímos um questionário final relativo à Satisfação dos Pais com o Programa. No que respeita aos resultados, nos quatro estudos de caso verificaram-se melhorias nos resultados de ambos os instrumentos aplicados, o que nos permite considerar que o programa foi eficaz e melhorou o sentido de competência parental assim como o conhecimento do desenvolvimento infantil nestes pais. Por último, os pais mostraram uma grande satisfação com o programa.
This work had as main objective the construction, implementation and evaluation of the effects of a universal parenting program, a preventive arm, designated as - Pacifier - for its implementation in primary health care, to parents of children aged 0 to 6 months and home visiting character. It was built based on a review of literature and practices based on evidence of positive parenting and parental education programs and later applied to four mothers and two fathers - two couples and two mothers -, and the effects were evaluated according to a multiple case studies model, consisting of four families. In this regard, in order to measure the goals set for the program, we conducted an initial and final evaluation with the adequate instruments for Parental Sense of Competence and Knowledge of Infant Development Inventory. Also included a final questionnaire on the Parental Satisfaction with the Program. With regard to the results in the four case studies there have been improvements in the results of both instruments used, which allows us to consider that the program was effective and improved sense of parental competence as well as knowledge of child development in these parents. Finally, parents have shown great satisfaction with the program.
