BACKGROUND: The treatment of breast cancer involves a multidisciplinary approach in which radiotherapy plays a key role.AIM: The conformity index and the homogeneity index are two analysis tools of a treatment plan using conformal radiotherapy. The purpose of this article is an analysis of these two parameters in the assessment of the treatment plans in 58 patients undergoing postoperative radiotherapy of the whole breast.MATERIALS AND METHODS: All 58 patients participating in the study had a conservatively treated early-stage breast cancer. For square tables, the marginal homogeneity model which has a structure that the row marginal distribution is equal to the column marginal distribution was proposed. However these indexes cannot concurrently define degrees of deviation from marginal homogeneity with respect to two types marginal inhomogeneity. This paper proposes

Real stands, depending on their silvicultural form and treatment, as well as the development stage, are more or less distant from the absolutely homogenous state. This article presents the results of the verification of the homogeneity of the data of long-term observations on the average annual air temperature and annual precipitation amounts according to the data of 143 meteorological stations operating on the territory of Ukraine to date and have a long (in the vast majority of cases, more than 55-60 years) rows of observations within 14 areas of river basins and sub-basins that have been allocated within the country for research. To do this, the parametric criteria of Student and Fischer, as well as the non-parametric Wilcoxon criterion, were used. B

In modern science, particular importance is given to improving approaches to identifying homogeneous territories according to industry specifics, allowing to take into account the specifics and patterns of socio-economic processes of similar groups of regions with the adoption of appropriate practical decisions. In the development of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the theory of regional economics in economic research, the tasks of overcoming the socio-economic differentiation of territories, improving the quality of the population, assessing the influence of factors on the l

Abstract Wood was sampled from 22 locations in 3 Pinus radiata trees and characterized by solid-state 13C NMR spectroscopy. Values of a cellulose crystallinity index were confined to the range 0.486 to 0.541 despite inclusion of earlywood and latewood, compression wood and opposite wood, juvenile wood and mature wood. The mean value was 0.515 and the standard deviation was 0.015. Highest crystallinity was associated with relatively slow radial growth, with a correlation coefficient of R=−0.79 for a linear least-squares fit against ring width. The NMR results were consistent with published stud

Abstract:
Proficiency Tests (PT) based on interlaboratory comparisons are activities aimed at assessing the technical competence of laboratories in carrying out specific measurements. The analyses of homogeneity and stability of prepared samples are an important step in ensuring the reliability of the comparison rounds, since improper selection of the parameter to carry out this evaluation can influence the promoted comparison. This paper proposes a method for selecting the most relevant variables aimed at improving homogeneity and stability tests in PT. For that matter, the approach relies on a variabl
