Full textIn the following strategic plan for the company Ligahtur SCRL 2019 – 2029 were analyzed internal and external aspects from the Technological Higher Education industry, clearly recognizing the necessity to link technological careers to the region's production sector. The industry in which the company Ligahtur SCRL is currently at, is promoting reforms focused in the quality and competivity, it is an appealing market, and therefore, a long-term planning is needed along with efficient tools to seize the environment. This is why strategies following the methodology of the sequential model from the strategic process according to D'Alessio (2016) were proposed in order for the company to achieve a position inside the market and develop its competitivity by productivity, and so, ensuring its sustainability framed in the vision, mission, values and ethic code, these are the four components for this plan to follow, and were developed by meeting evaluation criteria through socialization of these components with all participants, in order to strengthen the organizational culture of the company. Ligahtur has as the most valuable resource its participants, who are key parts to execute the strategies that allow to achieve objectives. It has been mainly recommended the development of new professional careers linked to the production sector in order to attain an increase in sales, improving profit margins and meeting customers' needs by means of a quality education. In order for Ligahtur SCRL to obtain a higher performance and an increase in the added value, it will apply the generic competitive strategy of differentiation approach, which strategic objective is the market sector and the perceived exclusivity, also it has been identified four competitive advantages that can be achieved by means of productivity, which need to be empowered and seized to open new careers.

Full textPeru has been the country with less promotion to private investment and with less facilities to invest in the tourism sector, with problems ranging from bureaucratic barriers that threaten investments in this sector, acts of corruption, lack of integration and fluidity among the main actors of the state. The objective of this thesis project is to analyze from the points of view of the Private Sector Organizations what are the factors that influence the participation of Works of the Tourism sector that allow to value our Tourist and Cultural Heritage, and if the mechanism of Works by Tax driven by Mincetur allows creating a positive impact that dynamizes the local economy immediately contributing to improve the quality of the tourist destinations prioritized in the Mincetur portfolio. Likewise, identify the work of each of the actors involved, and how it affects the promotion and enhancement of our Tourist Attractions, as well as identifying the gaps and deficiencies found in the present investigation. In the first chapter of the theoretical framework, we will develop the necessary data to contextualize the research topic, exposing the most relevant concepts based on reliable sources that have served as the basis for our research. In the second chapter the methodology of the investigation was developed, we analyzed the samples taken and the questionnaires used for the interviews; this with the subsequent purpose of interpreting and analyzing the data obtained. In the third chapter, the data is analyzed and if they answer the research questions posed. Finally, chapter 4 explains the conclusive results of the investigation.

Full textTourism is present in different economic activities, driving the development of localities and countries, offers travelers different types of tourism and also different activities for each type. In Perú, the tourist offer is varied by the numerous natural and cultural attractions that it has. While the growth rate of tourists is not exponential, it is vital to find the means to scale up without jeopardizing tourist attractions and their surroundings. Machu Picchu, the destination through which more tourists visit the country; However, one of the most challenging factors is transportation. Points, such as: roads and infrastructure, means of transportation, costs and service provided, are a matter of debate. That is why the expansion of the transportation system is considered the most efficient option; and that it must generate a positive impact on tourism. In order to obtain the adequate information, which allows analyzing and interpreting results, it was decided to use in-depth interviews and questionnaires in segments involved with the tourism sector. The findings found direct attention in seeking the sustainable development of tourism and quality in all tourist activity. Finally, it is concluded that the expansion of the transport system has a positive impact on receptive tourism; However, attention should be directed to developing other tourist attractions so as not to saturate one of the most important patrimonies of humanity.

Full textThis investigation is about the influence of the gentrification, also known as urban renovation, on cultural Tourism in the limenian district of Barranco during the period 2010 -2017. The gentrification and its influence have been widely researched in Europe and United Stated because it is a process that generates social and cultural changes not only in the local population but also in the urban space. Regarding Perú, there is still little research about it. That’s why the reason of this investigation and Barranco was chosen since it is the district that shows this urban renovation much better. The research starts with a prologue about the term gentrification. Then, there is a general overview of the topic and finally the district to be researched is introduced. The first chapter deals with the theoretical framework in which all concepts and significances about gentrification and Cultural Tourism are explained. Furthermore, all general and current aspects of Lima and Barranco are described. The second chapter focuses on the methodology used in the research. It is detailed the technical approach, type of investigation and the objectives to be reached. The research is qualitative and it is mainly based on interviews to government authorities, researchers specialized in Tourism and History of Lima, tourists, and inhabitants of the district who provided detailed and valuable information which was inserted in the respective matrix and binnacle and was ready for the analysis in the next chapter. In the third chapter, all the information is contrasted and analysed. In this way it can be determined how gentrification has influenced on the Cultural Tourism in Barranco in the period 2017-2017. The fourth chapter is about the discussion of the results. Finally, in the last chapter, conclusions and recommendations are given.

Full textThe present research work consists of determining the variables that influence the growth of the flow of foreign currency for the concept of business tourism in Peru, for which an analysis was performed using an econometric model, making estimates by ordinary least squares (OLS). This thesis has a theoretical framework where the main concepts related to business tourism are defined, as well as their influence on the economy of the country. The methodology used is based on the review and analysis of annual statistical data, from nationally and internationally recognized Entities; collecting information from 2003 to 2016. The results of the analysis gave validity of the econometric model in the study variables; being the dependent variable to be estimated, expressed in natural logarithm, the flow of foreign currency generated by business tourism, the independent variables incorporated into the estimated model, also expressed in natural logarithm, are the flow of foreign tourists arriving for business reasons, the index of commercial freedom and index of freedom of investment. It should be noted that at the beginning estimates were made with other variables that were considered to be related; however, the results were not as expected; therefore, they were not taken as explanatory variables. Then, after performing the analysis, the lack of multicollinearity, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity was found; it means, there is a direct relationship between the variables.

Full textObjetivo: Comprobar la incidencia de la reputación online en la ocupación y rentabilidad de los hoteles en Latinoamérica. Metodología: Con base en la información suministrada por la Cadena Hotelera GHL, se analizaron las variables financieras y de reputación online. Resultados: • Se demostró que cuando el Global Review Index se incrementa en una unidad, el RevPAR crece en 0,49%, manteniendo el resto de las variables constantes. • Las OTA son los medios que realizan mayor número de reservas. También se comprobó que cuando el número de reservas en las OTA se incrementan, la probabilidad que el hotel reciba una reserva a través de su página web se incrementa. • Los hoteles más demandados por el segmento MICE son aquellos que se encuentran ubicados en la zona determinada por COTELCO como Zona Calle 93 - Calle 100. Confirmando la tendencia Bleasure en Bogotá. • Se presentaron recomendaciones para mejorar la reputación online de los hoteles.

Full textAbstrac: Technological advances facilitate the accessibility of travel services worldwide, the user has the advantage of preparing their own itinerary from a mobile device, guided by the recommendations that finds out on the networks. The development of new tools, systems, and mobile applications facilitate the tourist and hotel offer, make the distribution channels of their services reach more directly to their partners or final customer, resulting in better prices and prompt reply. Moreover, these technological advances generate susceptibility in professional development who faces new challenges and respond to the new demands. The travel agent must have the technical knowledge and should accelerate the response to customers with attractive and innovative proposals. Additionally, the traveler prefers the use of technology instead of needing the service of a travel agent. This behavior is repeated in the acquisition of hotel and air tickets since the booking is offered through virtual platforms and the traveler connects directly with them instead of needing the advice of a travel agent. The technology affects the pace in the markets and the technological knowledge is highly needed on the qualified professionals.

Full textThis thesis validates the multidimensionality of CSR from a consumer perspective in the Spanish hotel sector. It shows not only the dimensions that make up CSR, but also its components. Moreover, the value of CSR for the demand and its impact on consumers' purchasing behavior are identified. This research has been conducted by designing a measurement scale of CSR which provides information about the relationships between each dimension of CSR and the overall assessment of CSR. Thus, it allows identifying the contribution of each dimension on the overall assessment. The main contribution of this thesis is the design of the first assessment scale of CSR in the hotel sector based on a global view of the multidimensionality of CSR and the impact of its assessment on the consumer purchasing behavior.

Full textThe present research study objective is to find the factors that limit the accessibility of tourists with motor disabilities in 4-star hotels in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, both located in Lima - Peru. In the first chapter, the theoretical framework of the proposal is developed, regarding topics related to: tourism and hotel sector; hotel approach; State structures; the municipalities of the districts Miraflores and San Isidro; people with disabilities; tourism for people with disabilities; factors and current situation of tourism in Peru. Then, in the second chapter the methodology of the investigation is developed through interviews to the chosen targets. Furthermore, in the third chapter we proceed with the analysis of the data and results, with the objective of validating the hypothesis proposed. In the fourth chapter, the discussion of the results is carried out to identify the factors and finally, in the fifth chapter, the conclusions and recommendations are exposed in order to close the develop of our research.

Determina la influencia del clima organizacional en el desempeño de los docentes de la escuela de Turismo y Gastronomía de la Universidad de San Juan Bautista, año 2014. La investigación es de tipo básico, diseño experimental y de corte transversal. Utiliza el método estadístico de regresión y correlación, una correlación conjunta de las dimensiones de la variable independiente con la variable dependiente desempeño docente 0.851, y un Valor p < 0.05, que permite afirmar que existe una relación significativa entre la influencia del clima institucional y el desempeño docente de los profesores de la Escuela de Turismo y Gastronomía de la Universidad San Juan Bautista. Con el método estadístico de correlación de Pearson, se halla que existe relación entre las relaciones humanas (p = 0.00) y el desempeño de los docentes. También existe relación entre las dimensiones procesos internos (Valor p = 0.000) y sistemas abiertos (Valor p = 0.000).

This monography consists on detecting the profile of hotelling demand in the city of Imperatriz, Maranhão, and the main motivations that take the guest until there, as well as pointing the characteristics of its trip, such as: expenses, time of permanence and the regularity of visits, beyond disclosing economic and social profiles. The research also traces the characteristics of hotelling net, analyzes the category of the hotels in town, according to classification of Embratur, the Brazilian institute of tourism promotion, analyzes the jobs generated, the services offered by the hotels, as well as the flow of this demand according to the months of the year. All these factors have a huge relevance in the elaboration of strategical planning for the tourism in Imperatriz, as well as for touristic public policies in the region. This is very important information, since the city does not have any kind of databasis on the profile of the tourism in the region. The researched universe was constituted by 100% of the hotelling enterprises of Imperatriz, which results in 24 establishments.
Consiste em detectar o perfil da demanda hoteleira da cidade de Imperatriz, Maranhão, as principais motivações que levam o hóspede até lá, bem como apontar as características de sua viagem, tais como: gastos, permanência e periodicidade em que visita a cidade, além de revelar o perfil sócio-econômico. A pesquisa também traça as características da rede hoteleira, analisa a categoria dos hotéis da cidade, segundo a classificação da Embratur, analisa a geração de empregos, os serviços oferecidos pelos hotéis, assim como o fluxo desta demanda hoteleira de acordo com os meses do ano. Todos estes fatores são relevantes para a elaboração de um planejamento estratégico para o turismo de Imperatriz, como também, para as políticas do turismo da região. São dados indispensáveis, tendo em vista que o município não possui nehnum banco de dados sobre o perfil do turismo na região. O universo pesquisado foi constituído de 100% dos empreendimentos hoteleiros de Imperatriz, um total de 24 estabelecimentos.

Full textEl Perú posee una rica combinación de cultura e historia, atracciones turísticas famosas, y una de las biodiversidades más importantes del mundo como una ventaja competitiva. El número de visitantes extranjeros hacia el Perú está creciendo en los últimos años. La pacificación del país, la estabilidad política, y económica son además de otros factores motivos de este crecimiento. A 2014, el Turismo es el cuarto contribuyente del PBI del país cuyo desarrollo ha provocado un aumento de las inversiones en hoteles generando dinamismo en la industria del turismo dedicada a prestar servicios a los visitantes extranjeros (también llamado “turismo receptivo”). Sin embargo, este crecimiento y la inversión hotelera difieren considerablemente en los diferentes destinos turísticos del Perú. Existen destinos turísticos que carecen de hoteles relevantes para fomentar un turismo competitivo. Por otro lado, existen retos que deben abordarse para que el Sector pueda responder al crecimiento de la demanda de hoteles. Este plan estratégico analiza la situación actual de la Industria Hotelera Peruana para el Turismo Receptivo. Además propone estrategias y un plan de implementación para hacer de este Sector, uno de los que más contribuyan con el bienestar e incremento del PBI, que depende mayormente de la exportación de materias primas. La ventaja comparativa del país y la naturaleza de la industria hotelera, si ésta considerase la creación de valor soportada por la innovación, la educación continua, y la responsabilidad social, podría ser una alternativa sustentable para impulsar no solo al Sector sino también la competitividad del país
Peru has a combination of rich culture and history, famous tourist attractions and one the world's top biodiversity as a comparative advantage. The number of foreign visitors to Peru has steadily grown in the last years. Pacification, political and economic stability have been, among other factors, fostering this growth. Today tourism is the fourth most important contributor to the country’s GDP. This development has triggered an increase of investments in (new and existing) hotels bringing dynamism in the tourism industry dedicated to provide services to non-Peruvian visitors (the so called ‘inbound tourism’). Nevertheless, the growth and hotel investment differ considerably in Peru’s tourist destinations. There are tourist destinations lacking a relevant hotel offer to foster competitiveness. On the other hand there are challenges that need to be addressed to allow the sector to respond to the growth in demand. This strategic plan analyzes the current situation of the Peruvian hotel industry for inbound tourism. It proposes strategies and a plan of implementation to make of this sector, one that contributes in a more relevant extent to the welfare (and GDP) of the country that is highly dependent on the export of commodities. The country’s comparative advantage and the nature of the hotel industry, if it embraces a path of value creation supported by innovation, continuous education and social responsibility, could be a sustainable alternative to boost not only the sector’s but also the country’s competitiveness

Full textO crescimento da atividade turística ao longo dos últimos anos é um dos fenômenos culturais, econômicos e sociais mais significativos de todos os tempos. A intensificação das viagens passou a influenciar a expansão turística de regiões, antes pouco exploradas, principalmente, as zonas rurais, fazendo surgir um maior interesse pelo turismo de contato com a natureza. O Pantanal brasileiro é um exemplo desta ascensão do turismo rural. Trata-se de uma região de fauna e flora abastada, onde o turismo cresce sistémica e progressivamente, todavia a infraestrutura hoteleira é ainda precária, principalmente nas cidades pequenas, o que dificulta a visitação dessas áreas. Quando bem planejados, os hotéis são capazes de impulsionar o turismo para uma região, de estimular atividades culturais e econômicas, de apoiar os comerciantes locais e de gerar empregos. Isto posto, o presente trabalho pretende estudar as necessidades de uma região específica, Bodoquena, localizada no Pantanal Sul Mato-Grossense, e propor solução – na forma de projeto arquitetônico – para estimular o turismo nesta região. O projeto contempla a hospitalidade, através da zona hoteleira, a educação e formação profissional, através da escola de hotelaria e o lazer, através do ecoparque.
ABSTRACT: The great rise of tourist activity over the last few decades is one of the most remarkable economic, social and cultural phenomena of all time. The increase in travel has influenced tourism growth in previously unexplored regions, especially in rural areas, giving rise to a greater interest in tourism in contact with nature. The Brazilian Pantanal is an example of this rise of rural tourism. It is a region of abundant fauna and flora, where tourism has been growing, but the hotel infrastructure is still weak, especially in small towns, which makes it difficult to visit these areas. When well planned, hotels are able to promote tourism to a region, support local merchants, generate Jobs and stimulate cultural and economic activities. In this way, this work intends to study the needs of a specific region, Bodoquena, located in the Pantanal, and propose a solution - in the form of an architectural project – to boost tourism in this region. The project includes hospitality through the hotel zone, education and vocational training through the hotel school and leisure through the ecopark.

As atividades econômicas ao setor de turismo se tornam cada vez mais relevantes no cenário macro e micro-econômico. O setor vem movimentando milhões de pessoas e bilhões de dólares a cada ano. O setor de turismo é composto por meios de hospedagens, serviços de alimentação, serviços de transporte, organizações para o lazer, lojas de souvenires e uma gama de outras empresas correlatas. Mundialmente cerca de 98% das empresas de turismo são de pequeno e médio porte, e geralmente são gerenciadas pelos donos, existindo dificuldades quanto ao uso e distribuição de ferramentas gerenciais e eletrônicas, que estão diretamente ligadas ao porte da empresa, a falta de visão estratégica por parte dos gerentes e ao custo dos canais de distribuição eletrônicos. No turismo, metade dos gastos refere-se à hotelaria, e entre 60 a 75% dos gastos locais dos turistas estão atrelados a despesas de alimentação e hospedagem, constituindo-se a empresa hoteleira um dos alicerces do turismo, um dos elementos principais que compõem o produto turístico. Com o objetivo de propor um modelo de Gestão Integrada dos Serviços turísticos # SIGESTur, tendo a hotelaria como ponto central do processo de articulação entre os elementos que integram o sistema de turismo. A presente pesquisa compreendeu num primeiro momento uma revisão bibliográfica aprofundada em periódicos nacionais e internacionais relacionados à temática, bem como anais de eventos e banco de teses e dissertações. Num segundo momento, para delinear o modelo proposto, fez-se uso de um estudo de caso no Hotel Plaza São Rafael - Porto Alegre # RS, hotel este que possui um setor de relacionamento com o cliente que se configura como setor especializado de atendimento aos hóspedes. Também fizeram parte deste estudo de caso três empresas de cada segmento dos serviços turísticos (alimentação, lazer, entretenimento e meios de transporte), empresas estas que fazem parte do cadastro do setor de relacionamento do referido hotel e que possuem informalmente um maior relacionamento com o setor, bem como dois representantes do hotel pesquisado, totalizando 14 entrevistados. Para a realização das entrevistas semi-estruturadas adotou-se um questionário como metodologia para a pesquisa empírica e suporte para as entrevistas. Após a realização das entrevistas foram modelados os processos de Gestão do hotel Plaza São Rafael e das doze empresas de serviços turísticos parceiras, tendo com foco a identificação das articulações existentes entre o hotel e os demais serviços turísticos e por fim desenvolveu-se conceitualmente o modelo de gestão integrada dos serviços turísticos. Após o desenvolvimento do modelo, o mesmo foi verificado quanto à pertinência, aplicabilidade e viabilidade por três renomados especialistas do setor de hotelaria em termos de Brasil. Na concepção do modelo SIGESTur alguns pontos são considerados primordiais para a implementação do sistema integrado desde características organizacionais, infra-estrutura tecnológica, gestão da informação, estratégias nos processos de serviços e a gestão integrada dos serviços propriamente dita. Fatos estes que merecem uma longa deliberação entre o hotel e seus parceiros turísticos na implementação do modelo, de forma a proporcionar a inovação nos negócios por meio da combinação de esforços e aprimoramento mútuo e contínuo para assegurar a fidelidade dos hóspedes. A vantagem competitiva sobre os concorrentes somente será alcançada quando todas as oportunidades possíveis de aperfeiçoamento forem concebidas.

Full textAs relações de gênero na sociedade atual têm sido debatidas sob as mais diversas perspectivas e cada vez mais as questões referentes às discriminações e comportamentos preconceituosos são contestados e combatidos. Sob esta temática geral, a evolução da participação feminina no mercado de trabalho, destacando as características das mulheres em posição de liderança, são os focos do presente trabalho. A realização desta investigação abrange a área do turismo, com foco nas líderes do setor hoteleiro, da cidade de Fortaleza, Estado do Ceará, Brasil. Foi desenvolvido um estudo qualitativo, de caráter exploratório, onde através de entrevistas tomou-se o conhecimento da trajetória realizada por estas mulheres no mercado de trabalho e seus intervenientes, até a chegada aos postos de liderança nos hotéis. Os resultados obtidos, através das análises, apontam que o início precoce no mercado de trabalho, a dedicação, o estudo, a personalidade dinâmica e empreendedora foram determinantes para a progressão.
Gender relations on contemporary societies have been discussed under a wide variety of perspectives, and subjects referring to prejudice and discriminative behavior are even more contested and debated. Under this general theme, the evolution of female participation in the economy, highlighting features from women in leadership positions, are the main focuses of this work. This research comprises the tourism sector, focusing on female leaders of the hotel industry in the city of Fortaleza, State of Ceará, Brazil. An exploratory qualitative study, developed through the use of interviews, has unveiled the path taken by these women in the labour market and the challenges they had to face, until reaching leader positions in hotels. The results obtained through the analysis of the data point out that an premature start in the labour market, dedication, formal education, dynamic and entrepreneur personality were determinant in their progression.

Full textEl objetivo de esta investigación consiste en determinar si el contenido generado por los usuarios en webs relacionadas con la industria del alojamiento valida los sistemas de clasificación de cualquierestablecimiento y plataforma de alojamiento para crear un sistema internacional de clasificación de hoteles que pueda servir también para categorizar cualquier tipo de alojamiento. Esta memoria presenta el trabajo llevado a cabo a través de la descarga y el análisis de cerca de cuarenta millones de reseñas sobre hoteles de todo el mundo descargadas desde TripAdvisor y Booking.com. Por un lado, esta investigación se centra en analizar la información brindada por los usuarios con sus valoraciones sobre establecimientos de alojamiento para comparar sus puntuaciones y determinar que la posición que ocupan los hoteles en el ranking está muy relacionada entre TripAdvisor y Booking.com. Por el otro, la investigación consiste en el análisis de los sistemas de clasificación de hoteles, demostrando que existe una relación entre las valoraciones de los usuarios y las categorías de hoteles en todo el mundo, de tal manera que las categorías se pueden predecir a partir del contenido generado por los usuarios en internet, entre otros parámetros. Finalmente, a través de técnicas de aprendizaje automático, esta tesis crea un modelo que permite clasificar los establecimientos de alojamiento ya sean tradicionales o plataformas de alojamiento colaborativo, como Airbnb, para que converjan los diferentes sistemas de clasificación de todo el mundo.
The aim of this research is to determine whether online User-Generated Content (UGC) about the lodging industry validates the ranking system of any accommodation property or platform in order to create an international hotel classification system that may also serve to categorize any type of accommodation. This thesis presents the work carried out following the collection and analysis of nearly 40 million reviews of hotels worldwide downloaded from TripAdvisor and Booking.com. On the one hand, this research focuses on the analysis of information provided by users, and specifically their reviews of accommodation properties, to compare their scores and to determine whether the position of a hotel in both ranking systems is closely related. On the other hand, the research consists of the analysis of hotel classification systems. It demonstrates that although international classification systems are not unified, there is a relationship between users’ ratings and hotel categories worldwide. Consequently, categories can be predicted from UGC on the Internet, among other parameters. Finally, through machine learning, this thesis creates a model that allows accommodation properties, whether on traditional or collaborative hosting platforms (e.g., Airbnb), to be classified in such a way that different classification systems worldwide are consistent.

The theme of this work is the use of assessment tools and non-financial performance with strategic family hotel based on the study of four organizations in the Serra Gaucha. In support of this issue, we made a theoretical review, addressing the strategic management, strategic management and its evolution family hotel, to the different valuation models and non-financial performance. The reflections lead to a problem, where we understand what is the relationship between assessment procedures and non-financial performance used in the strategic management of the Serra Gaucha family hotel and the concepts and tools of strategic management and performance evaluation. The objective of this study was to relate the use of performance indicators and non-financial and strategic management tool in family hotel companies of the tourist region of the Serra Gaucha to the concepts and tools of strategic management and performance evaluation. It is a qualitative, exploratory, specifically case studies, which were chosen as study objects, Pousada do Engenho, Pousada Vila Valduga, Cosmos Hotel e Varanda das Bromélias Boutique Hotel, classified as hotels and inns and romantic / or luxury. The analysis of information collected in the questionnaires were made by means of content analysis. It was concluded that it is necessary to modernize the tools of strategic management and performance evaluation and non-financial management of the Serra Gaucha family hotel in order to optimize the results and gain competitive advantage.

Full textThe existence of a certain impairment or disability does not necessarily inhibit the desire or the pleasure of travelling. However, many citizens with impairments or disabilities find it difficult to have access to Tourism industry. Having in mind that the international paradigm established by World Health Organization recommends that it should be the environment to be adapted to people, instead of the contrary, and taking into account that Lisbon is a top destination in Portugal, a study has been developed with the purpose of knowing how the hotel industry regards this matter – if it tends to consider the inclusion of clients with special needs as a burden or obligation to be met, or as a potentially profitable investment. This study was based on an inquiry of hotel managers and an analysis of the hotel websites, and revealed quality and quantity data. The results reveal that the interest of hotel managers in the inclusion of clients with special needs does not go much further than minimum legal boundaries, there is no investment in website accessibility and the information about accessibilities focuses mainly on physical aspects. Deepening the knowledge about the reasons for this way of regarding clients with special needs and also about the economic potential of these tourists in the national context could increase the interest in these clients and improve the conditions offered to them.

Neste sentido, o presente projeto propõe o desenho de um Sistema de Controlo de Gestão (SCG) para a Quinta do Pinheiro Velho, uma unidade hoteleira rural com restauração, espaço para eventos e estruturas desportivas. Dado o reconhecimento da necessidade de controlo do negócio, com o sistema proposto prevê-se a conceção e implementação de ferramentas de controlo estratégico e operacional de suporte à tomada de decisão e acompanhamento da evolução da empresa. Para a implementação do referido SCG, será necessário um levantamento do posicionamento estratégico da empresa e do reconhecimento dos principais Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) da empresa. A partir destes, ferramentas de controlo serão desenvolvidas para acompanhamento das principais unidades de negócio da empresa.
The Tourism and Hospitality sector are strategic activities for the portuguese economic and social development, being caters of investments which might attenuate regional/rural asymmetries. The present project proposes the design of a Management Control System (MCS) for Quinta do Pinheiro Velho, a rural hotel with restaurant, event spaces and sports facilities. Given the recognition of the need to control the business' daily operations, the proposed system predicts the design and implementation of strategic and operational control tools to support decision-making and follow-up of the company's evolution. For the implementation of the mentioned MCS, a survey of the company's strategic positioning and recognition of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) of the company will be necessary. From these, control tools will be developed to follow the main business units of the company.

També s'han creat diferents bases de dades de preus hotelers, s'han explotat les dades i preus de guies hoteleres, i s'han fet enquestes als hotelers per conèixer el preu que paga un turista particular.
Les aportacions més importants fan referència als preus del sector hoteler, que és el nucli principal del treball, i es podrien resumir de la manera següent:
-Determinar com es determinen els preus en el sector hoteler
-Conèixer el grau de competència entre operadors turístics
-Disposar d'una evolució temporal i estacional dels preus dels hotels. En aquest sentit, la metodologia i les dades emprades podrien ser un punt de partida per elaborar una sèrie temporal de preus i d'aquesta manera corregir la mancança actual d'un índex de preus hoteler
-Identificar els serveis i les característiques dels hotels que no tenen un preu explícit, però que resulten rellevants a l'hora de negociar uns preus superiors

The aim of this thesis is to analyse hotel prices, which include both the rate the hotel charges and what the tourist pays. More concretely, the thesis aims to understand and explain the charges policy of the hotel sector and uses to this end the concepts, tools and models of economic analysis.
The exhaustive examination of tour operators' brochures is the main method used in this study. Various data bases of hotel charges were also created; the data and tariffs in hotel guides were used; and questionnaires were submitted to hoteliers on the tariffs a private tourist pays.
The main contributions referred to the prices in the hotel sector, which is the central nucleus of the study, and can be summarised as follows:
-To determine how tariffs are set in the hotel sector.
-To find how much competition there is between tour operators.
-To examine how hotel charges vary over time and seasonally. The methodology and data employed could be a starting-point for working out a series of charges over time, and so rectifying the current lack of an index of hotel prices.
-To identify the services and characteristics of those hotels without an explicit charge, but which are relevant when the question of negotiating higher charges arises.
-To examine the price strategies of some foreign tour operators.
-And, in general, to extend knowledge of hotel tariffs.

Full textThis paper aims to understand the magnitude of events impacts on occupancy rates of accommodation establishments. In order to achieve this purpose, a case study was conducted to analyze occupancy rates of seven hotels in São Paulo, Brazil. Different kinds of establishments were examined in a way that it was possible to have a sample including hotels of varied patterns and localization. The analysis was run from January to December of 2003. It was also developed an analysis relating the accommodation occupancy rates of those hotels to occupancy rates of their places for events. The calendar of the most important convention and events centers of São Paulo were also analyzed, in order to evaluate the impact of outside events on hotels occupancy rates To each kind of accommodation establishment, the correlation coefficients were calculated using three historical series: - Hotels occupancy rates - Occupancy rates of hotels places for events - Number of events realized in the most important convention and events centers of São Paulo - Amount of attendance of those events Regarding the events attendance, it was considered events with at least 500 participants, due to the impossibility of identifying the amount of small events that happen in São Paulo. The findings concluded that events cause a great impact on occupancy rates of São Paulos hotels, mainly on those located close to events places. However, to have a perfect comprehension of these impacts, more information (not yet available) about events market of São Paulo would be necessary, such as: the number of resident and non-resident events participants; the number of non-residents participants that stay in hotels and the number of those who not stay overnight.

O turismo de neg?cios ? um dos segmentos tur?sticos com caracter?sticas de mercado diferenciadas de outras segmenta??es, como a baixa sazonalidade, n?o necessita de atrativos naturais, funciona como proje??o do destino e gera n?meros rent?veis maiores. Devido ao contexto de viagem do turista de neg?cios, o hotel, na maioria das vezes, exerce papel fundamental entre os elementos da cadeia produtiva nessa segmenta??o. O turismo de neg?cios em Teresina funciona como a principal segmenta??o da capital, j? que representa quase 70% da demanda hoteleira, da? justifica-se a presente pesquisa ter como objetivo avaliar atrav?s da percep??o dos turistas de neg?cios, o n?vel da qualidade dos servi?os dos meios de hospedagens da cidade de Teresina. A pesquisa ? de natureza explorat?ria e descritiva, de car?ter funcionalista. Em termos metodol?gicos, o estudo caracterizase por pesquisa quali-quantitativa, apoiada por uma base em pluralismo metodol?gico. Para a coleta de dados prim?rios, para a coleta de dados prim?rios, aplicou-se um instrumento de pesquisa adaptado do modelo SERVPERF (Service Performance). Os locais de pesquisa foram meios de hospedagens da capital piauiense, restringindo-se apenas aqueles que se enquadrassem na categoria hotel e dentro da regi?o metropolitana de Teresina. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram turistas de neg?cios frequentadores destes hot?is. Para a an?lise, levou-se em considera??o alguns fatores, quais sejam: an?lise descritiva, an?lise fatorial, matriz de correla??o das vari?veis, foi elaborada ainda um gr?fico dos l?xicos obtidos na pesquisa sobre a vis?o de qualidade no servi?o hoteleiro dos pesquisados, por fim, a an?lise qualitativa foi baseada nas teorias de marketing, segmenta??o e qualidade em servi?os aplicados ao turismo. Os resultados apontaram que o servi?o hoteleiro de Teresina encontra-se em uma m?dia regular, com destaque para as dimens?es de Confiabilidade e Seguran?a. J? a an?lise fatorial indicou o surgimento de dois fatores para a explica??o da dimens?o Empatia, um a respeito da organiza??o, e outro, ao pr?prio consumidor. Business tourism is one of tourist segments with different market characteristics in relation to others segmentations, such as low seasonality, there is no requirement of natural attractions, it serves as destination projection and it generates profitable larger numbers. Due to the context around business travels, the hotel so many times has a fundamental whole among the elements of the production chain in this segmentation. Business tourism in Teresina is the primary segmentation of the capital, since it represents almost 70% of hotel demand; hence this research has as objective to evaluate through the perceptions of business travelers, the level of quality services of hotels of Teresina. The research is exploratory and descriptive, of functionalist character. This study is characterized by qualitative and quantitative research, supported by a basis of methodological pluralism. For primary data collection was performed applying a suitable research instrument of SERVPERF model (Service Performance). The universe of this study were Teresina's accommodations, restricted to only those that fit in hotel category and it was inside metropolitan area of Teresina. The study subjects were business travelers who were hosted in these hotels. For the analysis, it was considered certain factors: descriptive analysis, factor analysis, correlation matrix analysis of the variables; It was still compiling a graphic of lexicons obtained in the survey about respondent's the notion of quality of vision in the hotel service; Finally, qualitative analysis was based on the theories of marketing, targeting and quality of tourism services applied. The results show that the Teresina hotel service is on a regular average, especially for Reliability and Safety dimensions were highlighted. Whereas, the factor analysis showed the emergence of two factors to explain "Empathy" dimension, one of this is about the organization and the other one is about consumer. And by Lexicometria was possible to observe the importance to the customer of other variables such as: personal aspects, price and location for this tour segmentation.

Full textEl presente proyecto tiene como objetivo general el diseño de una estrategia de negocio para una empresa hotelera en la región de Magallanes, Chile. Se trata de un hotel en funcionamiento recientemente adquirido, con bajas tasas de ocupación y ventas menores a $300.000.000 anuales, en una situación crítica dentro de la pujante industria turística de Chile y en particular de la Patagonia. Para el cumplimiento de este objetivo, se utilizó una metodología compuesta de un proceso analítico del entorno y la situación actual de la empresa que concluye con las oportunidades que sus propias fortalezas y debilidades, así como las amenazas del entorno, entregan al hotel. Entre éstas, se puede señalar la posibilidad de diversificar su oferta, con una mejora sustancial de las instalaciones actuales y además la incorporación de nuevos servicios como excursiones y la habilitación de un Spa que responda a las tendencias en el turismo actual. Prosigue con un proceso declarativo en que se planteó la misión, visión, objetivos y promesas a los stakeholders del hotel. Se diseñó de la estrategia, el modelo de negocio y la estrategia comercial a implementar, la que ataca el problema de la estacionalidad desde dos frentes: Un convenio con la Caja de Compensación La Araucana que asegura una ocupación básica del hotel (30%); y por otro lado el incorporarse a los programas gubernamentales realizados a través de SERNATUR. Se identifican mercados claves en el exterior en Argentina, Brasil, Estados Unidos, Francia, Alemania e Israel, así como los canales de distribución a utilizar para llegar a ellos y las acciones de promoción definidas y enmarcadas en un presupuesto anual que varía entre los 12 y los 15 millones de pesos anuales. A nivel de implementación de esta estrategia, se definió la estructura organizacional necesaria, la dotación de personal así como los procesos, procedimientos y mecanismos de control que permitan alcanzar estándares de servicio que aseguren superar las expectativas de los huéspedes. Las inversiones requeridas para esta estrategia superan los 93 millones de pesos y se espera genere ventas de 621 millones el 2014 llegando a los 1.126 millones al 2020, término del horizonte de evaluación del proyecto. Los costos y gastos asociados entregan un EBITDA que llega a los 372 millones el mismo año. El flujo evaluado a una tasa de descuento del 10,56% entrega un Valor Actual Neto de los flujos futuros de $ 320.629.065 con una tasa interna de retorno del 55,7% y un período de recuperación de la inversión menor a tres años. El análisis de sensibilidad del proyecto muestra que con un cambio drástico en la cantidad de huéspedes, el proyecto podría dejar de ser rentable. Sin embargo en términos de precios, una baja moderada en los precios a cobrar (impulsada por ejemplo por factores ajenos a la empresa como el tipo de cambio, crisis internacionales o catástrofes naturales en la zona) vuelve el proyecto no rentable. Con todo, se cree que la estrategia responde a lo que hoy requiere el hotel en términos de inversión en instalaciones, servicios y su capital humano, todos elementos claves para otorgar finalmente una experiencia íntegramente satisfactoria a sus huéspedes, fundamental para mantener la posición de liderazgo en su segmento que se pretende alcanzar con esta estrategia y que le permita enfrentar a futuro los avatares de la industria, el aumento en la competencia, entre otras variables que escapan a su control.

La Tesi fa referència a l'hoteler de Mallorca i no de Balears. L'hoteler eivissenc i menorquí tenen unes característiques diferents al mallorquí, fruit principalment de desenvolupaments econòmics i socials, a Menorca i a Eivissa, molt distints als de l'illa gran. L'estudi dels empresariats illencs s'ha de fer per separat. Dit en altres paraules, si és volgués fer una tesi de l'empresariat turístic de Balears, possiblement caldria elaborar tres tesis: una de l'empresari mallorquí, una de l'empresari menorquí, i una altra de l'empresari pitiús.

Full textEl presente proyecto tiene como objetivo general el diseño de una estrategia de negocio para un hostal ubicado en el barrio Bellas Artes en la comuna de Santiago, Chile. Es un hostal en funcionamiento cuyo inicio de operaciones se realizó sin mayor planificación estratégica y que lleva operativo casi 2 años, con tasas de ocupación por debajo del promedio del mercado lo que es crítico dado el fuerte auge de la actividad turística y hotelera de la capital y, en específico, del sector donde está emplazado. Se aplica la metodología propuesta por el profesor Enrique Jofré, desarrollando las siguientes etapas: un proceso analítico tanto del entorno como de la situación actual del hostal, concluyendo con las oportunidades detectadas a partir del análisis de sus fortalezas, debilidades y amenazas. Hallazgos de este proceso son, la oportunidad de focalizar y especializar la oferta y el desarrollo de un perfil de atención y servicio enfocado al asesoramiento turístico local, además de la incorporación de un bar a la oferta de servicios. Consistente al análisis anterior, se diseñó la estrategia, el modelo de negocio y la estrategia comercial a implementar. Como parte de este proceso, se identificaron como clave los mercados de Argentina, Brasil, Estados Unidos y Europa, además del levantamiento de canales de distribución relevantes para llegar a ellos, junto a las acciones de promoción y difusión del hostal enfocadas en potenciar y generar tráfico hacia los canales de reserva. Lo anterior se abordará con un presupuesto que varía entre los 10 y 12 millones de pesos anuales que se debe traducir en el rediseño del sitio web y la generación de campañas de marketing on-line. Los pilares de la propuesta están en: Acciones de marketing y experiencia de usuario: que permitan lograr la meta de incremento de un 15% de la tasa de ocupación a 5 años y por otro lado, la especialización de la atención al cliente, con la incorporación de capacitaciones periódicas a los recepcionistas y un director de experiencia que coordine la atención, cultura y ambiente del hostal. Habilitación del Bar: que permita aumentar el ticket promedio por pasajero desde 3 a 10 dólares adicionales al ticket promedio actual. En el plan financiero y evaluación económica que se realizó sobre las dos iniciativas y el impacto incremental de éstas, se consideró una tasa de descuento del 15%, el periodo de evaluación fueron 5 años, con una inversión inicial de $43.568.090, y se obtuvo un VAN de $34.834.119 y una TIR de 32,7%. En relación al impacto sobre el EBITDA del Hostal éste asciende desde el 1,21% para el primer período hasta 61,64%, donde, en el último periodo, la implementación de la estrategia sería responsable del 38% del EBITDA total. Al finalizar el trabajo y en conclusión dada la evaluación económica positiva y robusta, se recomienda implementar la estrategia y, con esto, tener un hostal con una oferta diferenciada, difundida y puesta en valor, con una estructura organizacional y de procedimientos que le permitan implementarla, además del modelo de negocio que le sirva como mapa guía.
