The Apocynum venetum L. of Apocynaceae plant is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. In this paper, we analyzed qualitatively the active compounds in the aqueous extract from the leaves of Apocynum venetum L. by HPLCMS and HPLCDAD. The aqueous extracts method of the mainly active compounds from dried leaves of Apocynum venetum L. was based on HPLC/DAD coupled to an electrospray ionization (ESI) interface. Overall, 8 constituents were separated and identified, which belong to flavonoids.

Background:CoQ10 is a very important compound which is found in every tissue of our organism. It participates in the processes of cellular respiration and ATP production. Also, it acts as a strong antioxidant. In an organism, it is represented in two forms: oxidized (ubiquinone) and reduced (ubiquinol). Its low blood level may be a signal for a list of diseases.Materials and Methods:This study developed and compared two methods of CoQ10 determination in order to find the fastest and the most convenient one. Periodontal ligament cells may play an important role in the successful regeneration of the periodontium. We investigated the effects of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2), one of the most potent growth factors that stimulates osteoblast differentiation and bone formation, on cell growth and osteoblastic differentiation in human periodontal ligament cells (HPLC) isolated from four adult patients. rhBMP-2 induced no significant changes in cell growth in any of the HPLCs. rhBMP-2 at concentrations over 50 ng/mL significantly stimulated alkaline phosphatase (ALPase) activity

A characteristic cysteine-rich motif, LIM domain, was first detected in three different transcription factors: lin-11, Islet-1 and mec-3. A feature shared by these genes is the presence of two LIM domains linked to a DNA-binding homeodomain (Sánchez-García et al., 1994). LIM homeodomain (LHX) proteins have been reported to be implicated in a variety of developmental processes (Dawid et al., 1998).Expression patterns of LHX genes have been analysed in a wide variety of organisms and reported to be cell-type specific (Dawid et al., 1998). Monolithic columns are continuous interconnected networks with large through-pore channels. This structure results in a decrease in the diffusion path and affords high permeability, which result in obtaining good separation efficiency. Ideally, the structure of monoliths should be bi-model consisting of meso-pores and macro-pores responsible for retention time and flow of mobile phase respectively. The structure also enhances the mechanical strength, and the large through-pore channels afford very low flow resistance. This combination therefore results in the ability of smaller diameter monoli
