A proteína de choque térmico Hsp90 é uma chaperone molecular encontrada no citosol. O cDNA incompleto desta proteína foi isolado de uma biblioteca construída a partir de mRNA de células de esporulação de B. emersonii submetidas a choque térmico. Um clone genômico contendo a seqüência completa do gene hsp90 também foi isolado, seqüenciado e caracterizado. A região codificadora do gene hsp90 é interrompida por um único íntron de 184 nucleotídeos. Various genes have evolved to protect the cell against stressor-induced damage or death including the heat shock proteins (HSPs). Stressor-induced HSP gene expression involves the activation of heat shock factor (HSF), which binds to the heat shock element (HSE) found in the promoter region of <em>hsp</em> genes. The extant coelacanths have a close resemblance to the coelacanth fossil records dating back to 230mya. Like their predecessors, the extant coelacanths inhabit rocky caves at a depth of 100-300m below sea level. In the Comoros, the water temperature at these depths is estimated to fluctuate between 14-20°C. High-level adaptation to these environment and lack of competition are thought to have led to the morphological uniformity and slow change throughout the history of the coelacanths. TOL plasmids of Pseudomonas putida encode enzymes for the degradation of toluene and related aromatics. These genes are organized into two operons regulated by the Xy1R and Xy1S transcriptional activators. Previous analysis of the TOL pDK1 catechol-2,3-dioxygenase gene (xy1E) and a comparison of this gene to xy1E from the related TOL plasmid pWW0, revealed the existance of a substantial level of sequence homology (82%).

Two cupruretic chelators, 2,3,2-tetramine and diamsar were used to deplete copper from Hep G2 cells. Studies using incremental concentrations of chelators, an average maximal depletion of 45% of cellular Cu amounting to 2.4 or 2.3 pmol Cu/μg DNA were attained after 24 h of incubation with 10 μM of tetramine or diamsar in basal medium containing 0.63 μM of Cu. My research explores the contingency of key discourses of masculinity, race and violence as they are filtered through particular film genres in which it is the very masculinist dimension of their cultural narratives which is emphasized. To that end the two genres which I focus upon are the 'spaghetti' western and the 'gangster' film. Leishmania parasites are the causative agents of a diverse spectrum of infectious diseases termed the leishmaniases.
