Abstract:
The current study, using prospective data over 25 years (1991–2015; N = 245 couples), investigates life course dyadic patterns of positive and negative marital trajectories (i.e., marital strength and strain, respectively) in middle-aged husbands and wives and an array of physical and mental health outcomes associated with these patterns. Spousal warmth, spouse’s constructive conflict resolution, and couple’s joint participation were used as indicators of marital strength, whereas spousal hostility, spouse’s destructive conflict resolution, and marital instability were used as indicators of marital strain. Four dyadic latent classes with heterogeneous trajectory patterns were identified using husbands’ and wives’ concurrent strength and strain marital trajectories (1991–2001), including a couple stable and moderately favorable group, a couple stable and highly favorable group, a couple stable and husband more favorable than wife group, and a husband improving with wife slightly worsening group. The best health outcomes in 2015 were generally reported by members of the couple stable and highly favorable group, whereas the worst health outcomes were found, on average, for members of the husband improving with wife slightly worsening group. Based on these findings, interventions should promote and develop resiliency factors, thereby aiding in the redirection or improvement of middle-aged spouses’ marital trajectories, which can reduce detrimental positive–negative imbalances in marital strength and strain.

Abstract:
Army is one of the noblest professions. Army men usually strive for the welfare of our nation. They should be adulated for their unique sacrifice. “The Victoria Cross” throws light on the life of a unique army officer. It is a biography penned by Ashali Varma who might have felt completely satisfied with her portrayal of her parent’s glorious virtues. She has depicted PremBhagat and Mohini who could lead a meaningful life by exchanging love perfectly and exhibiting warmth to the people who have sought succour. Prem was able to attract many people with his humanness. So, he exhibited empathy, gregariousness, veracity and tenacity to make his every endeavour successful. He never pussyfooted. He was down-to- earth. He was true to the adages “The rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance” and “To err is human; to forgive divine” His wife was Mohini. She was an ideal wife to justify a maxim: “There is a woman behind every successful man”. She could shoulder the domestic burden confidently. Her love to her husband is obvious: “I love you more than anything else in this world” (p.no.39). One can find a lot of instances in which Mohini has involved herself voluntarily to buttress PremBhagat even in official affair. She demonstrated her hospitality impeccably. Hence, the book “The Victoria Cross” has been written in eulogy of PremBhagat and Mohini who have proved to be an epitome of a couple.

Abstract:
Background: Emotional divorce refers to a situation in which the emotional relationship, support, passion, warmth, attention, love, and intimacy between couples (husband & wife) decline or diminish. Such conditions lead to an unaffectionate marital life to the point that the couples are only together under one roof. Accordingly, the present study aimed to explore the role of attachment styles and spiritual intelligence in predicting emotional divorce in women. Methods: This study employed a descriptive-correlational design. The research population included all women filing for divorce who were referred to marriage counseling and couple therapy centers in districts 5 and 6 in Tehran City, Iran, in 2020. In total, 400 women who met the inclusion criteria were selected as the study participants using voluntary response and convenience sampling techniques. The required data were collected by the Emotional Divorce Scale, the Adult Attachment Scale, and the Self-Report Measure of Spiritual Intelligence. The collected data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis method in SPSS V. 22. Results: The obtained results suggested a significant positive relationship between the anxious-avoidant attachment style and emotional divorce (P<0.01). Furthermore, there was a significant negative relationship between spiritual intelligence and emotional divorce; the higher the spiritual intelligence, the lower the emotional divorce (P=0.02). Accordingly, spiritual intelligence and anxious-avoidant attachment style can predict emotional divorce (Multiple Regressions= -0.58). Conclusion: The present study data suggested that premarital education and counseling before spouse selection help in examining the personality traits of the parties. Moreover, paying attention to the role of health professionals, such as family counselors, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses in providing premarital counseling and education to couples and emphasizing the role of spiritual intelligence and attachment styles may prevent emotional separation and divorce among couples.

Abstract:
Objectives: The present study investigated the decade-long actor and partner infleunces between husbands’ and wives’ trajectories of stressful work conditions (SWCs) and their depressive symptoms while also considering the moderation of these influences by spousal warmth. Methods: Participants were 330 middle-aged dual-earner couples from the Iowa Midlife Transitions Project. Husbands and wives reported on own SWCs and reported on parenter’s warmth in the years of 1991, 1992, and 1994. Depressive symptoms for husbands and wives were measured by the SCL-90-R in 1994 and 2001. Structural equation models, growth curves, and longitudinal data were used to perform our analyses. Results: For husbands and wives, trajectories of SWCs over early middle years (1991-1994) contributed to depressive symptoms in 1994. Notably, for husbands and wives, the severity (level) of SWCs in 1991 had a persistent influence on depressive symptoms a decade later (2001). For husbands, under conditions of wives’ low warmth, SWCs exerted a relatively strong influence on their depressive symptoms. However, under conditions of high warmth from wives, most of these influences were greatly diminished. Discussion: Results from the current study indicate that contextual life experiences can have a persistent health influences over the life course.

Abstract:
We assessed the association of personality pathology with romantic couples' observed interpersonal behaviors. Couples engaged in four discussion tasks, after which observers used the Continuous Assessment of Interpersonal Dynamics method to continuously rate each participant's dominance and warmth over the course of each discussion. Using these ratings, we derived indices of average behaviors and changes in behaviors over the course of discussions. Generally, results indicated that the more personality pathology either spouse reported, the colder husbands were on average, and the colder they became toward their wives over time. However, personality disorder symptoms and overall interpersonal problems were largely unassociated with wives' behaviors. Results also indicated that the more dominance-related problems husbands and wives reported, the more dominantly and coldly they behaved, the more submissive or withdrawn their partners were, and the colder wives became over time; and the more warmth problems wives reported, the more dominantly, they behaved.

Abstract:
Women and emancipation are two things that can not be separated, both are like two sides of the same coin. One form of women's emancipation is a freedom of determining a spouse. This research aims to describe the several forms of women's freedom of determining a spouse in short story of Kahlil Gibran entitled Wardah Al-Hānī based on literary sociology theory of Rene Wellek and Austin Warren. The methodology used to realize that aim is descriptive qualitative. The results reveal that women's freedom of determining a spouse is divided into two perspectives, one relates to the opinion of the character in a story and other determined by his behaviors. In the first side, the character has an opinion that the real happiness in the life only can be brought by love. So, she must choose the man she loved. And in another side, the women's freedom is shown by the way she left her legal husband and went to the other beloved man to make her happiness life.

Abstract:
Critics generally have not warmed to Heroides 8 (in which Hermione appeals to her husband, Orestes, to rescue her from Pyrrhus, who has claimed her as his promised bride, carried her off, and holds her prisoner). Jacobson opined that the poem is ‘not very successful’ and claimed that the lengthy argumentation is ‘rather boring, not to say sometimes silly and annoying’, while Palmer described it as ‘the feeblest and least poetical of all the Heroides’. However, scholars have largely neglected some typically Ovidian cleverness and complexity in kaleidoscopic play with character. Ovid's Hermione is Hermione, but she also takes on the guise of other mythological heroines, and she represents a complete inversion of an earlier depiction of Hermione. All of this gives the poem a distinct intellectual appeal to supplement the emotional impact, with witty touches to ensure that the epistle is not mawkish.

The outbreak of social media provides an alternative to celebrities who appear besides on television. The term social media celebrities also appear as 'selebgram' and 'selebtwitt'. Their appearance is based on a number of fans on social media who actively follow them both on the Instagram or the Twitter. This celebrity culture gives birth to interesting public figures who have never been found on television. One interesting program is @wardahmaulina_, a Muslim woman who uses a niqab of various colors in each of her postings. Her popularity began from her love affair with Natta Reza, who is now her husband, and was widely discussed in the social media. The story of their introduction only through Instagram and later married, much liked by citizens. Since then, both Natta Reza and Wardah have become popular. This paper focuses on discussing new phenomena about Wardah’s models of dressing (1.3 million of Instagram followers) that make the niqab a fashion trend. The niqab itself was initially stigmatized by the salafi movement as it tends to be rigid but is now undergoing a transformation after the appearance of figures like Wardah who presents the niqab with a more trendy and attractive style in the Muslimah market culture. This paper shows that the niqab is no longer synonymous with a rigid salafi movement but has transformed into a trendy Muslim outfit.[Merebaknya media sosial memberikan alternatif selebriti yang tampil selain di televisi.

Full text
Abstract:
This is a longitudinal couples therapy process study using coded data from eleven couples to identify which therapist behaviors (warmth, listener responsiveness, communication, dominance) influenced positive couples exchanges (warmth and listener responsiveness) over time in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). A mixed effects model was used to examine within- and between-individual variability. Men and women were modeled separately. A series of two-level multilevel models of change were examined, where Time is Level 1 and Individual is Level 2. Results indicated no significant relationship between variables of therapist warmth, listener responsiveness, communication, and dominance with couple listener responsiveness. Where client warmth was an outcome variable, the only significant relationship was between therapist warmth toward husband and husband warmth toward wife. Findings demonstrated that 62.9% of the variance in husband warmth toward wife was accounted for by therapist warmth to husband across time in therapy. Specifically, therapist warmth toward husband was significantly and positively related to husband warmth toward wife over time in therapy. Clinical implications and directions for future research are discussed.

Abstract:
In this interlude, the author describes the events of a typical Friday night social dance at the Regent Ballroom and Banquet Center by sharing her own experience. She narrates how dancers greet each other warmly and tell stories of their week as they change into their dance shoes. The dancers then head to the dance hall. The early minutes of the dance exude a quiet romance not only reserved for newlyweds. The Friday night ballroom dance is date night for many couples in attendance. The author mentions Sylvia, a real estate agent with two adult children, and her husband Jimmy. The two met at the Regent and continue to dance weekly. Their conversations, as well as those of their fellow couples, are littered with loving glances, small gestures of affectionate intimacy, and the kind of good-natured ribbing only spouses can perpetrate. Eventually the room will be filled with 150 or so dancing bodies. Through dancing, they routinely inhabit each other's personal space.

Evidence is considered here for the utilization of domestic farm and companion animals for products other than meat, for example goat horns and calf and cat skins. Selection pressures driving changes in the stature of cattle are suggested to reflect environmental changes from the Medieval Warm Period to the Little Ice Age. An example of catastrophic cattle mortality is examined with regard to the difficulty of establishing the causative effect, the sex ratio of the bodies, and the impact on the manorial farm. Routine disposal of inedible carrion is discussed with regard to urban disposal of horse bones. Constraints on livestock husbandry and the survival of faunal evidence in the uplands of Wales, northern England, and Scotland are used to demonstrate the effect of legal and commercial considerations on the Scottish data.

This chapter focuses on small-town kitchens across Middle America, particularly the American Gothic House. The American Gothic House is home to Beth Howard, aka the pie lady, aka Ms. American Pie. The chapter then recounts how Howard's grief brought her two thousand miles from the Golden State to the American Gothic House. Her young husband, Marcus, had died suddenly at just forty-three years old in 2009. Devastated, Howard returned to her adult home — Los Angeles — looking for comfort in the familiar. Baking had helped her overcome previous life traumas, so when her good friend Janice asked her to make a pie documentary by traveling across southern California in the RV Howard had inherited, the pie lady enthusiastically agreed. That decision, in turn, led her to road-trip back to her Midwest roots. Within minutes she had fallen in love with the famed American Gothic House; shortly thereafter she filled out the rental application and waited for fate to extend its warm hand.

Abstract:
I put my first child in the OC because I wanted to be part of her school life. When my husband and I chose to adopt her, it was because we wanted the experience of raising her. We didn’t want to shuttle her off to a day care or school for someone else to raise. When Alysha was old enough to attend preschool, I found a parent co-op, and when she was old enough to attend elementary school, I heard about the OC and was glad to be able to continue participating in her education. The OC community became important not only as a support in educating our children but also as a community of families with similar goals—helping our children to get the best education we can provide. Other committed parents provide activities for our kids that the teacher and my husband and I cannot. David and I are both artists and can provide techniques and insights for their creative efforts, but we also want them to be able to work with adults who are dedicated to and enthusiastic about math, science, history, ecology, and other aspects of today’s world. The community extends beyond educating our children at school. For 10 years, our family has gone on OC class camping trips sponsored and planned by parents, exploring places we might have never seen on our own. With our children’s classmates and their families we have hiked, shared food, and shared good experiences and bad, warm and cold, the joy of discovery and of watching our children grow. We have learned about children and how they learn and about how to work with other adults. We have developed deep friendships with other families in our children’s classes and have memories and photo albums full of good family experiences that include our OC community. The children’s learning is enhanced by the caring evident in the OC community. For example, the community supports its members in times of family crisis by providing emotional support and practical support—bringing meals, providing child care, and helping with carpools and other responsibilities.

Abstract:
On 9 September 2017 a service of remembrance was held in East Wemyss for the nine miners killed in the disastrous fire at Michael, exactly 50 years previously. The service was organised by the Fife Mining Heritage Preservation Society (FMHPS), and held at the village memorial, a miniature replica of Michael’s No. 3 pit head-frame. The service was attended by a multi-generational assembly of about 450. It was introduced by Duncan Gilfillan and Elizabeth McGuire, Chair and Secretary of the FMHPS, and led by the Reverend Wilma Cairns of Buckhaven and East Wemyss Parish Church. The Reverend Cairns spoke warmly about the nine miners who were still mourned by the families who lost them: Hugh Gallacher, aged 61, Alexander Henderson, 41, James Mackay, 59, Henry Morrison, 36, Johnston Smith, 60, James Tait, 41, Andrew Taylor, 43, Andrew Thomson, 55, and Philip Thomson, 64. She remembered these men as skilled workers, loving husbands, fathers and sons, helpful colleagues, friendly drinking buddies and pals who went to the football. Family flowers were joined on the village memorial by tributes from the Scottish Mines Rescue Training Centre in Crossgates, Fife, which had assumed a leading role in the difficult recovery operation in 1967, and representatives of Fife Trades Union Council, present with their banner, along with Peter Grant, MP for Glenrothes, and David Torrance, MSP for Kirkcaldy....
