Abstract:
The entrance of even a small amount of phosphorus compounds into natural waters leads to global problems that require the use of modern purification technologies. This paper presents the results of testing a hybrid electrobaromembrane (EBM) method for the selective separation of Cl− (always present in phosphorus-containing waters) and H2PO4− anions. Separated ions of the same charge sign move in an electric field through the pores of a nanoporous membrane to the corresponding electrode, while a commensurate counter-convective flow in the pores is created by a pressure drop across the membrane.

Titania and silica have been recognized as potential drug delivery system (DDS) carriers. For this application, controllable biocompatibility and the suppression of the initial burst are required, which can be provided by a calcium phosphate (CP) coating. However, it is difficult to control the morphology of a CP coating on the surface of carrier particles owing to the homogeneous nucleation of CP. In this study, we report the development of a CP-coating method that homogeneously corresponds to the shapes of silica–titania (SiTi) porous nanoparticles. We also demonstrate that controlled surfac

We proposed a concept of an artificial-photosynthetic system to produce pure formic acid using CO2, water, and solar energy, generating no waste, as illustrated in Fig. 1.1 The system consists of an artificial-photosynthetic reaction process and a product isolation process. We proved the concept by small-scale experiments, and constructed a practically large-sized solar-driven CO2 electrolyzer as the first step toward widespread use of artificial photosynthesis.2,3 We adopted a single-compartment configuration of the solar-driven CO2 electrolyzer without ion-exchange membranes and a near-neutr

ABSTRACTMolybdenum trioxide sol-gel matrices were tested for their ability to host biomaterials in their structures without adversely affecting the activity of the encapsulated biomolecules. The sol-gel composites were prepared at room temperature; the urease was added during the hydrolysis step to ensure proper encapsulation in the pore structure of the sol. Phosphate buffer solution was added during this stage to maintain the pH value of the sol in the bio-compatible range. The activity of incorporated urease was tested by exposing composite sol-gel material to standard urea test solutions a

Microporous and mesoporous oxides, phosphates, borates, aluminates, silicates, organicinorganic hybrids, organic polymers etc. remain in the centre of research interest due to their versatile applications in many frontier areas of chemical and physical sciences like symmetric/asymmetric catalysis, gas storage and optoelectronics. Often the structure directing agents (SDA) used in the synthesis of non-silica based mesostructured materials keeping the mesoporous framework intact is a very challenging task. So my aim was to synthesis organicinorganic hybrid microporous and mesoporous phosphonates
