The mackerel scad, Decapterus macarellus, is a valuable species in Indonesia, playing a crucial role in the livelihoods of coastal communities and the national fishing industry. MethodsThis study aims to identify the spawning and nursery areas of D. macarellus in the Sulawesi Sea, specifically within Indonesia's Fisheries Management Area (FMA) 716. Field sa

AbstractSmall islands in Indonesia have a vital role in developing social, economic, cultural, environmental, and national sovereignty. On the other hand, small islands are also very vulnerable to natural disasters and dynamics and/or human activities. Threats and disasters that exist on small islands can vary according to the characteristics and typology of the island. This study aims to identify the typology of small islands by utilizing geospatial data to analyze geomorphological parameters, including morphology, materials, processes, and oceanographic parameters such as the presence of cor

Abstract:
This article is intended as an introduction to discuss the development of a modelling framework to examine simulated climate change and river discharge regulation and their combined impact on marine conditions in the Hudson Bay Complex as a contribution to BaySys, a collaborative project between Manitoba Hydro, Hydro-Quebec, the University of Manitoba, the University of Alberta, Université Laval and Ouranos. In support of this work, a sea ice and oceanographic model was improved and then used to further study the effects of freshwater loading and ice cover on the circulation of Hudson Bay. Thi
