Xanthan gum (XG) is a microbial exo-polysaccharide (biocompatible, biodegradable, and hydrophilic) produced industrially from the fermentation of simple carbon sources under aerobic conditions by Gram-negative bacteria Xanthomonas campestris. As a great commercial significance, it has demonstrated interesting properties like biodegradability, high viscosity at a low shear rate and stability under a wide range of temperature and pH which leads to the wide range of applications such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic, biomedical, petroleum and agriculture, especially in food applications. Herein, an oligomer deep eutectic solvent (DES) synthesized from polyethyleneglycol and tetrabutylammonium bromide is used to mediate the vulcanization and softening behaviors of natural rubber (NR) gums and their nanocomposites. The results show that DES could accelerate NR vulcanization and improve crosslinking density. For the hydrophilic silica nanocomposites, DES could greatly reduce tanδ and weaken w

Following problems associated with the use of gums include uncontrolled rates of hydration, pH dependent solubility, thickening, drop in viscosity on storage, and the possibility of microbial contamination. Chemical modification of gums not only minimizes these drawbacks but also alter their physicochemical properties. Recently, researchers have been modifying properties of natural gums to explore its more applicability. Aim of the current study was to explore Xanthan gum’s a
