Full textThe purpose of the thesis has been to design and simulate different concepts of a secondary controlled swing drive for a wheel excavator. Secondary control is a known technology in the field of hydraulics that offers precise positioning as well as the possibility of energy recuperation. Secondary control is today used in certain industrial applications and is rather unemployed in mobile machinery. An excavator moves high loads in cyclic motions which are ideal conditions for energy recuperating systems. A study of the potential of a secondary controlled swing drive is therefore interesting. The focus has been on testing different circuit architectures and emergency brake concepts.
The results of the design process have been three types of circuit architectures and two types of hydraulic safety concepts. The results of the simulation have shown that the open and closed circuit architecture have similar energy efficiency. The closed circuit with low pressure accumulator however offers the best controllability. At least 20% energy savings can be achieved by storing thekinetic energy when braking.
A hydraulic emergency brake must function, independent on the direction of rotation of the excavator during a failure. The first principle recognises the rotation direction and changes the swivel angle of the secondary unit so that a braking torque is created. In the second principle a pressure difference is built up over the secondary unit that always results in a braking torque. Simulationshave shown that the principle with recognition of the speed direction is the most effective safety concept.

Vorgehensweise.

The purpose of this study is to develop and assess the accuracy and performance of a feed drive mechanism designed with high helix ball screw and hydrostatic air bearing, and then to investigate the optimum design parameters of such system. The procedures of study include the following: the design parameters of air bearing are calculated based on basic formula, prototype is designed and built, various types of precision instrument are used to test the accuracy and performance of the system. Finally, the testing data are analyzed and the important design considerations are generalized. For the measurement and test, laser interferometer is used to measure the positioning accuracy and repeatability of the stage under different types of operating conditions. Static stiffness and dynamic characteristic are also performed. Thorough analysis and comparison between design and testing data are analyzed to yield the important design parameters. It is believed that the research results can be a good reference for this type of problem.

The purpose of the research is modeling and analysis of thermal deformation on direct drive hydrostatic rotary table. At first, find heat generating in the inside of machine, and set up the thermal measurement system to obtain temperature of rotary table under machine free running in different speed. Then, study the case of structure deformation and accuracy in machine owing to temperature variation. Taking the temperature as the heat load on rotary table, use finite element simulation software ANSYS to do the modeling and analysis of thermal deformation on rotary table. Finally, change the geometry shape of rotary table to find the better way that can reduce the thermal deformation more efficiently.

In a general hydrostatic guideway rotary working table system, the rotary driving system is usually not a direct type, so there are some disadvantages like backlash, the gear matching, lubrication, slow response and other shortcomings. When external load applied on the table, the oil film thickness will be decreased, so the rotary speed will be affected. Moreover, the initial oil film thickness of each chamber are not the same due to manufacture precision of hydrostatic guideway, unequal oil from spilt-flow dividers and uneven pressure of each restrictor. This study will improve the lacks of traditional hydrostatic guideway rotary system. One will use relief valves to regulate the initial oil film thickness and let it be the same. For the rotary driving system, one will use a variable displacement hydraulic motor as a direct type driving system to improve the lacks of a general non-direct one. By regulating the displacement of a hydraulic motor with a self-tuning fuzzy controller, one can control the rotary speed of working table and resist external load. Moreover, when external load applying to the table, it will decrease oil film thickness. With speed control compensation, it will improve the change of oil film thickness. The experimental results show that the variable hydraulic motor can resist external load and let the working table rotate at constant speed. When an eccentric load applies on the table, the variable motor will compensate the load torque and decrease the change oil film thickness.
