Müller, Benedikt, and Heiko Baum. "Impedance measurement in a hydrostatic drive." Technische Universität Dresden, 2020. https://tud.qucosa.de/id/qucosa%3A71159.

Full text
Abstract:
Pressure oscillation in hydrostatic drive trains can cause noise and damage to components. They impair function and reliability. The visualization of the oscillation mode helps to clarify the causal relationships in the hydrostatic drive train and is a basis for the development of remedial measures. Analysis of the pressure oscillation situation, however, can only be carried out in the complete system, since line branching and the impedance of the hydrostats have an influence on the resonance frequencies and the oscillation modes. If only the line length between the components is considered in the pressure oscillation analysis, neither the calculated frequencies nor the position of the pressure antinodes where possible remedial measures are to be placed are correct. This paper presents the metrological determination of the impedance of a hydrostat on a functional test bench (“mobile impedance measurement”) and the preparation of the measurement data for the subsequent simulative pressure oscillation analysis of a hydraulic drive train.

Abstract:
Drive requirements of tractors and communal vehicles are demanding and varied. Energy efficiency and the different requirements in off-road and on-road operation are the basis for a powerful drive. Combinations with the so-called hydrostatic wide angle technology are often used. The article deals with a hydraulic drive with wide angle technology (45°) and an integrated, quick-shift, single stage transmission. A particularly large conversion range can be realized with this. Special shift elements, sensors and an adjustment developed for this purpose enable a fast, quiet and low-wear gear change. This new gearbox development will in future be implemented at RIGITRAC in cooperation with SAUER BIBUS.

Pettersson, Karl. "Secondary Controlled Swing Drive." Thesis, Linköping University, Linköping University, Fluid and Mechanical Engineering Systems, 2008. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-19032.

Full text
Abstract:

The purpose of the thesis has been to design and simulate different concepts of a secondary controlled swing drive for a wheel excavator. Secondary control is a known technology in the field of hydraulics that offers precise positioning as well as the possibility of energy recuperation. Secondary control is today used in certain industrial applications and is rather unemployed in mobile machinery. An excavator moves high loads in cyclic motions which are ideal conditions for energy recuperating systems. A study of the potential of a secondary controlled swing drive is therefore interesting. The focus has been on testing different circuit architectures and emergency brake concepts.

The results of the design process have been three types of circuit architectures and two types of hydraulic safety concepts. The results of the simulation have shown that the open and closed circuit architecture have similar energy efficiency. The closed circuit with low pressure accumulator however offers the best controllability. At least 20% energy savings can be achieved by storing thekinetic energy when braking.

A hydraulic emergency brake must function, independent on the direction of rotation of the excavator during a failure. The first principle recognises the rotation direction and changes the swivel angle of the secondary unit so that a braking torque is created. In the second principle a pressure difference is built up over the secondary unit that always results in a braking torque. Simulationshave shown that the principle with recognition of the speed direction is the most effective safety concept.

League, Richard B. "Bond graph model and computer simulation of a hydrostatic drive test stand." Thesis, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, 1985. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/50042.

Full text
Abstract:
A hydrostatic drive test stand was constructed to aid in the instruction of the characteristics of hydrostatic transmissions and to develop a time-varying load in a shaft to compare torque transducers. A mathematical model of the device was derived using the bond graph approach and was implemented using the Advanced Continuous Simulation Language (ACSL). The test stand was used to obtain experimental data to try to refine the model parameters. To facilitate the measurement of system flows, a microprocessor-based digital flow indicator was developed. Steady-state tests were performed at various constant pump swashplate angles; for the dynamic tests, the pump swashplate angle was cycled from zero degrees to 6.5 degrees.

Kolks, Giacomo, and Jürgen Weber. "Electro-hydrostatic compact drives with variable transmission ratio." Technische Universität Dresden, 2020. https://tud.qucosa.de/id/qucosa%3A71209.

Full text
Abstract:
Electro-hydrostatic compact drives are an emerging technology within a range of industrially available translational drive solutions, combining the specific advantages of hydraulic and electromechanical screw drives. Compared to electromechanical screw drives, hydrostatic drives can vary their transmission ratio with comparably little effort, giving them the key advantage of downsizing the electric drive components for a given load cycle. This paper provides a guideline on how to calculate the downsizing potential of electric motors and inverters arising from variable transmission ratio based on the load regime of a given application. Furthermore, a comprehensive systematisation of the actual switching process is described for systems that are switched by means of switching valves. The presented set of methodology is applied to demonstrators in order to validate the general findings.

Abstract:
The paper presents the development methodology of a hydrostatic pump/motor for use in Parker Hannifin’s advanced series hydraulic hybrid transmissions for medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles. With Parker’s established bent-axis pump/motor technology for heavy duty mobile applications as a basis, it describes the main stages of further development and qualification for demanding automotive main drive transmissions. Parker’s APQP based, customer focused product development model was employed for this development which resulted in the variable bent-axis pump/motor C24 for open circuit hydrostatic transmissions. Positive customer results from a large fleet of in-service refuse collection trucks and parcel delivery vans with Parker advanced hydraulic hybrid drive systems using C24 pumps/motors serve as evidence of Parker’s product development model effectiveness. High reliability, good fuel economy, increased productivity and long brake life of the vehicles can directly be traced back to the streamlined, front-loaded and iterative development model.

Seung, Taehun. "Holistic-Lightweight Approach for actuation systems of the next generation aircraft." Universitätsverlag Chemnitz, 2017. https://monarch.qucosa.de/id/qucosa%3A34400.

Full text
Abstract:
Currently the system development of aircraft engineering concentrates its focus on the reduction of energy consumption more than ever before. As a consequence, the efficiency of subsystems inside the aircraft is highlighted. According to previous investigations the simplification/unification of conventional multifaceted board energy systems by means of electric power management is the most promising way concerning aircraft global efficiency improvement. The main aim of the present work was to optimize a multi-device, heavy duty EHA-System by introducing of a comprehensive perspective. In order to achieve the final, non-plus-ultra improvement level, the attributes of architecture, hardware and operation method were combined in an interactive manner, whereas particular attention has been paid to the mutual enhancing influences. The maximum reduction of losses, the minimizing of consumption and weight optimization can be achieved concurrently when the physical coherences between the involved subsystems are understood and their hidden potentials are exploited. This can only be achieved in one way and the detail follows: The most effective way to reduce both manufacturing effort and weight is to introduce a multiple-allocation philosophy. The highest reliability possible can be achieved by novel cascade-nested system architecture and strict restraining of the control logic. By employing an ultra-low-loss hardware concept, the energy efficiency can be maximized at a necessary minimum own weight. Last but not least, possibly the most important cognition is that an intelligent operation method will improve the actual system and influence the entire system positively and with a lower effort. The final conclusion is that the only and reasonable way to achieve an ultimate optimized solution of an actuation system is an all-encompassing consideration. Eventually it was to recognize that the final result is nothing but ultimate lightweight architecture, i.e. a non-plus-ultra solution.
Vorgehensweise.

The purpose of this study is to develop and assess the accuracy and performance of a feed drive mechanism designed with high helix ball screw and hydrostatic air bearing, and then to investigate the optimum design parameters of such system. The procedures of study include the following: the design parameters of air bearing are calculated based on basic formula, prototype is designed and built, various types of precision instrument are used to test the accuracy and performance of the system. Finally, the testing data are analyzed and the important design considerations are generalized. For the measurement and test, laser interferometer is used to measure the positioning accuracy and repeatability of the stage under different types of operating conditions. Static stiffness and dynamic characteristic are also performed. Thorough analysis and comparison between design and testing data are analyzed to yield the important design parameters. It is believed that the research results can be a good reference for this type of problem.

The purpose of the research is modeling and analysis of thermal deformation on direct drive hydrostatic rotary table. At first, find heat generating in the inside of machine, and set up the thermal measurement system to obtain temperature of rotary table under machine free running in different speed. Then, study the case of structure deformation and accuracy in machine owing to temperature variation. Taking the temperature as the heat load on rotary table, use finite element simulation software ANSYS to do the modeling and analysis of thermal deformation on rotary table. Finally, change the geometry shape of rotary table to find the better way that can reduce the thermal deformation more efficiently.

In a general hydrostatic guideway rotary working table system, the rotary driving system is usually not a direct type, so there are some disadvantages like backlash, the gear matching, lubrication, slow response and other shortcomings. When external load applied on the table, the oil film thickness will be decreased, so the rotary speed will be affected. Moreover, the initial oil film thickness of each chamber are not the same due to manufacture precision of hydrostatic guideway, unequal oil from spilt-flow dividers and uneven pressure of each restrictor. This study will improve the lacks of traditional hydrostatic guideway rotary system. One will use relief valves to regulate the initial oil film thickness and let it be the same. For the rotary driving system, one will use a variable displacement hydraulic motor as a direct type driving system to improve the lacks of a general non-direct one. By regulating the displacement of a hydraulic motor with a self-tuning fuzzy controller, one can control the rotary speed of working table and resist external load. Moreover, when external load applying to the table, it will decrease oil film thickness. With speed control compensation, it will improve the change of oil film thickness. The experimental results show that the variable hydraulic motor can resist external load and let the working table rotate at constant speed. When an eccentric load applies on the table, the variable motor will compensate the load torque and decrease the change oil film thickness.
