Abstract:
This descriptive article aims to analyze the effects of restricting the right to vote for people deprived of their liberty, already socially excluded and stigmatized due to their condition, in denying the individual’s exercise of citizenship, resulting in an increase in crime. In the first chapter, through the hypothetical-deductive methodology, based on a systematic bibliographical review of primary and secondary sources, the paper gathers and analyzes the literature and existing legislation about political rights of prisoners in the Brazilian context and their restriction hypotheses. In the following topic, in addition to the aforementioned methodology, data were presented on the scenario of the Brazilian prison system, using quantitative empirical research, with secondary sources, to elucidate the scenario of mass incarceration and outline hypotheses, as well as statements about the logic of the punitive system and the growth of criminal factions. Finally, in the last chapter, through the hypothetical-deductive methodology of bibliographic review, the need for state action was highlighted, using public policies, to comply with the dictates contained in the 1988 Federal Constitution, expanding the citizenship of prisoners through voting, promoting social inclusion.

Abstract:
The methodology deals with the methods of acquiring scientific knowledge, i.e. all aspects of scientific research as a method of gaining scientific knowledge about phenomena and processes. Scientific method enables gaining scientific knowledge by applying a series of principles, rules and procedures. Every research includes several general scientific methods. Hypothetical-deductive scientific method of acquiring knowledge and modeling method characterize empirical research, while comparative and analytical-deductive methods are applied in theoretical research. It is impossible to carry out research without a data collection method. Therefore, it is necessary to precisely define the methods, techniques and instruments that will be applied in research to gain new scientific knowledge.

Abstract:
Abstract Two methodologies for formal concepts derivation are considered: the classical one, which focuses on the posterior analysis of the object’s properties of the studied knowledge domain, and non-classical, the cornerstone of which is the a priori formation of the set of measured object’s properties and the determination of existential relations on this set. In the article, firstly, a position is fixed in the technological chain of the target transformation of the source data, where the difference between considered methodologies shows itself. Secondly, the commonality of these two approaches is established in the aspect of the unity of their hypothetical-deductive basis. In this case, the cognitive activity of the subject is expressed first in a priori and then in a posteriori conceptual scaling of the measured properties. The work demonstrates the need for the joint use of the considered methodologies at processing incomplete and inconsistent empirical data about studied knowledge domain. The intermediate consolidation of these methodologies is possible only on the basis of multi-valued logic.

Abstract:
Purpose Mathematical models are constructed at the interface between practice, experience and theories. The function of models puts us on guard against the privilege granted to what is accepted as abstract and formal, and at the same time puts us on guard against a static and phenomenological conception of knowledge. The epistemology of models does not suppress in any way the objectives of science: only, a dogmatic conception concerning truth is removed, and dynamic and dialectical aspects of monitoring are stressed to establish the most viable model. The purpose of this paper is to examine hybrid methodologies (inductive-deductive) that may either propose hypothetical causal relations and seek support for them in field data or detect causal relations in field data and propose hypotheses for the relations detected. Design/methodology/approach The authors follow a dialectical analysis for a type of inductive-deductive model. Findings In this work, the authors present an inductive-deductive methodology whose practical result satisfies the Hegelian dialectic. The consequent implication of their mutual reciprocal integration produces abstractions from the concrete that enable thought. The real problem in this case is a given ontological system or reality. Originality/value The essential elements of the models – variables, equations, simulation and feedback – are studied using a dialectic Hegelian theory.

Abstract:
Violence against homosexuals has both direct and structural sides, and many times has a veiled character that affects the performance of their employment contract, making it difficult to access employment, career progression, and even to maintain their job. Throughout the study of Labour Law from the Brazilian legal system’s perspective and principles, this article seeks to investigate what measures can be taken to combat discrimination against homosexuals in employment relationships. Concerning the applied methodology, the hypothetical-deductive method was chosen as an approach. Regarding the procedure method, the monographic was chosen, while bibliographic research, in turn, will be used as a research technique.

Abstract:
The present work focused on an intervention program based on professional skills to promote employability. Emotional competencies were analyzed, as the delimitation of interpersonal competencies, the factors influencing teacher employability, and professional competencies. The methodology applied was cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational, aimed at describing, explaining, and identifying the degree of correspondence of the possible relationships between the variables. The approach was qualitative, while the method used was hypothetical-deductive, the type of research was basic, and the design was non-experimental at a correlational descriptive level with cross-sectional. The main results showed a relationship between professional competencies, employability, and the work context.

Abstract:
Purpose Although there are several often-used case research methods for teaching purposes, these cannot be used to conduct scientific research into business ethics, perhaps owing to criticism levelled against it. The precise aim of this work is to expound and argue for its use within the framework of scientific hypothetical-deductive methodology. Design/methodology/approach The opportunities offered by this methodological approach, both from an inductive (Eisenhardt, 1989; Dyer and Wilkins, 1991) and a deductive perspective (Yin, 1993; Carson et al., 2000), have been wasted, creating a need for scientific contributions within this area; hence, this study. It was carried on a theoretical approach of the use of single case applied to corporate management based on religion and spirituality inclusion. Findings The results obtained indicate that the single-case research method makes it possible to put forward alternative hypotheses to the dominant hypothesis, making contributions to the theory. Concretely, the scientific legitimacy of its use is justified by what it has been called “possibilistic hypothesis” for what it is not necessary to collect a large data or make an empiric research. Practical implications In the field of business ethics, these hypotheses (possibilistics) make alternatives stand out that widen the moral responsibility of decision-makers. It implies an open mind for decision-makers and rigorous arguments using just a single case. Reinforce and make them easier based on moral imagination improvement. Originality/value The decision process is complex, but in this rich method, the single-case study could permit establishing rigorous and robust decisions easily. The case study is not used widely for management, but this perspective could enrich and increase its use.

This article has os its theme the analysis of the several factors that hinder the management of prison houses. For this purpose, the work has as generais objective to demonstrate the difficulty of prison management and, as specific objectives, the analysis of factors such as resource management, prison population and functional staff. The applied methodology was bibliographic research, using the hypothetical-deductive approach method. The concepts listed demonstrate that managers face daily internal and external factors that greatly damage the prison system. The lack of investments in health, education and job creation contributes to the growth of crime rates and the overcrowding of establishments, making it difficult to reinsert those sentenced to social life.

Abstract:
Historically, war has resignified the international political process, transforming the interaction promoted by lawsuits and arbitration into a process through which law and politics evolve. At this point, the term lawfare appears, which refers to a type of warfare in which the rule of law is used as a weapon. Although there are some negative connotations to the term, this study seeks to demonstrate that it can also be an emancipatory tool, assisting nations of the Global South in advancing their arguments and points of view against the old colonial empires that have dictated International Law since the 15th century. Following this syllogism and employing the hypothetical-deductive approach method, this paper attempts to confirm the thesis regarding the feasibility of advancing discourses that seek to “free” international law through descriptive and explanatory methodology. The cases involving the Chagos Archipelago before various international courts that directly or indirectly address the United Kingdom’s inadequate/incomplete decolonization are examined.

Abstract:
The digital environment, or cyberspace, is an immaterial dimension that integrates social, economic, and technological aspects, and is challenged by the excessive exploitation of data and hyperconnectivity. These factors generate significant risks for individuals and society, especially regarding the protection of fundamental rights, such as privacy and security in the digital environment. This study investigates how to address these risks, focusing on the normative articulation between the Consumer Defense Code (CDC), the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and the National Environmental Policy (PNMA). The proposed hypothesis is that, through this integration, combined with the promotion of cyberdemocracy, it is possible to restructure public policies that protect digital rights and promote the responsibility of agents who cause damage. The methodology adopted is hypothetical-deductive, based on bibliographic research, with analysis of theoretical concepts about the digital environment, risks, and the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The research also explores digital democracy as a way to overcome normative fragmentation and broaden the public debate on digital environmental issues. The objective is to contribute to strengthening cyberspace governance and promote balanced socio-environmental development.

Abstract:
The quality of images obtained from video surveillance systems is a decisive aspect when performing investigations at the Forensic Science. Features such as scars, tattoos, and skin marks are great examples of details that allow to consolidate an investigation at certain scenarios in which there is the necessity to identify individuals captured in a video or image footage. However, the low quality of images could affect the results of the investigations. In this sense, this work proposes the study of a computational model to address the problem of increasing the resolution of Low-Resolution (LR) images, also known as the problem of super-resolution of images. The main idea is to train a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) so that it can be able to enhance low-quality images. The hypothesis is that a variant model of a GAN, named Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network (SRGAN), is capable to produce High-Resolution (HR) images from LR ones. The proposed methodology is based on experimental research with the aid of the hypothetical deductive method, where two well-recognised state of art methods were used, which proposes the use of convolutional neural networks and deep learning. For the model validation, were conducted four different experiments: two to avail the capacity of the GAN to produce images with enhanced resolution and two other experiments to evaluate the quality of the results produced by the SRGAN. The quantitative results of our experiments are promising, with performances that are similar to those obtained by state-of-the-art approaches. Moreover, the qualitative results based on performing a visual analysis of the images produced by our approach suggest a interesting performance in terms of visual quality.

Abstract:
This article begins with the definition of green space, giving the current situation in which they are, and what is its role in the urban as well as the norms that define the development of the same, with the purpose of determining its incidence as an indicator of quality of urban life.
It present a developing methodology, based mainly on a literature review on relevant issues concerning the public green space , in recent years both nationally and internationally, as well as the manifestation of conceptual theoretical framework that makes their study potential in a process hypothetical-deductive formal degree-applied pure abstraction and generalization of action, nature of quantitative data-oriented decision making.
In conclusion, public green spaces are areas designed to society that lives in cities and for that reason should be given the importance that require, in its projection, conservation and development, as these spaces are places of recreation and relaxation that environmental purposes to benefit urban dwellers, including projecting a scenic delight for those who live them.
