Abstract:
Multivariate analysis of twenty six genotypes of eggplant were done to estimate the genetic diversity and to select the potential parents for a successful hybridization program. As per PCA, D2 and cluster analysis, the genotypes were grouped into five clusters. The highest inter-cluster distance was between Cluster II and Cluster III (37.82) and the lowest between Cluster I and Cluster III (4.39). Cluster III showed the maximum intra-cluster distance (1.58), whereas Cluster II showed the lowest intra-cluster distance (0.48). Considering the magnitude of genetic distance and agronomic performance, the genotypes SM 208 and SM 209 from Cluster II and SM 201, SM 218 and SM 227 from Cluster III might be suitable for efficient hybridization program. On the other hand the genotypes of Cluster I (SM 206, SM 210, SM 211, SM 212, SM 213, SM 215, SM 216, SM 217, SM 221, SM 224, SM 225 and SM 226) possess all the superior characters in respect of yield and yield related component. Thus the genotypes SM 206, SM 216, SM 217, SM 224 and SM 225 from this Cluster could be selected to develop high yielding eggplant varieties.Bangladesh J. Agril. Res. 41(3): 433-439, September 2016

Abstract The effects on CTL recognition of individual amino acid substitutions within epitopes I, II, and III of SV40 tumor Ag (T Ag) were examined. Epitope I spans amino acids 207 to 215, and epitope II/III is within residues 223 to 231 of SV40 T Ag. An amino acid substitution at position 207 (Ala----Val) or 214 (Lys----Glu) of SV40 T Ag expressed in transformed cells resulted in loss of epitope I, recognized by CTL clone Y-1. The amino acid substitution at residue 214 in the corresponding synthetic peptide, LT207-215(214-Lys----Glu), also led to loss of recognition by CTL clone Y-1. The recognition, by CTL clone Y-1, of peptides LT207-215 and LT207-217 with an Ala----Val substitution at position 207 was severely affected. Peptides LT205-215 and LT205-219 with the Ala----Val substitution at residue 207 were, however, recognized by CTL clone Y-1, suggesting that residues 205 and 206 may be involved in presentation of site I. Alteration of residue 224 (Lys----Glu) in the native T Ag resulted in loss of recognition by both CTL clones Y-2 and Y-3. However, a peptide corresponding to epitope II/III with an identical amino acid substitution at residue 224 provided a target for CTL clone Y-3 but not clone Y-2. A change of Lys----Gln at residue 224 in both the native protein and a synthetic peptide caused loss of recognition by CTL clone Y-2 but not CTL clone Y-3. Further, an amino acid substitution of Lys----Arg at position 224 of the native T Ag decreased recognition of epitope II/III by CTL clones Y-2 and Y-3 but had no effect on recognition of a synthetic peptide bearing the same substitution. These results indicate that the mutagenesis approach, resulting in identical amino acid substitutions in the native protein and in the synthetic peptides, may provide insight into the role of individual residues in the processing, presentation, and recognition of CTL recognition epitopes.

Abstract:
In this study, identification and measurement of gamma emitting radionuclides contaminant in air inside the hot lab at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine have been carried out. Air particulate collection has been performed by suction of indoor air through filter paper using Staplex air sampler. The radioactivities of Pb-212, Pb-214, Ac-228, Bi-214, K-40, I-131 and Tc-99m captured by the filter paper were assessed using gamma-ray spectrometry. The observed activities of natural radionuclides in air samples ranged from 0.59 to 295 mBq/m3 with average 143±0.003 mBq/m3 for Pb-212; 13.55 to 1911 mBq/m3 with average 402±0.007 mBq/m3 for Pb-214; 0.69 mBq/m3 to 571 mBq/m3 with average 57.33±0.009 mBq/m3 for Ac-228; 7.85 to 2192 mBq/m3 with average 543±0.014 mBq/m3 for Bi-214 and from 9.89 mBq/m3 to 256 mBq/m3 with average 92.9±0.052 mBq/m3 for K-40. The activities of artificial radionuclides in air filter ranged from 0.19 to 60.67 mBq/m3 with average 6.4±0.0 mBq/m3 for I-131; 0.25 to 40.27 mBq/m3 with average 4.17±0.0 mBq/m3 for Tc-99m. The activity of I-131 is compared with the reported values of other countries of the world. This demonstrated that the work place condition is satisfactory and the level of protection provided to the worker is sufficient.

Abstract:
Human Fe65L2 is a member of the Fe65 protein family, which interacts with amyloid precursor protein (APP). Fe65L2 contains an N-terminal WW (Trp-Trp) domain followed by two phosphotyrosine-interaction domains, and consists of 486 amino acids. In the present study, we cloned and characterized two novel isoforms of Fe65L2, designated I-214 and I-245, which are produced by alternative splicing of the RNA. The splicing events disrupt the ability to bind with APP and low-density-lipoprotein-receptor-related protein. Fe65L2 was highly expressed in the brain, whereas I-214 and I-245 were expressed in various tissues. In HEK-293 cells, Fe65L2 was expressed in the nucleus and cytosol, whereas I-245 and I-214 were localized exclusively to the nucleus. The ratio of I-214 to Fe65L2 mRNA was increased by apoptotic stimuli. Although the overexpression of either Fe65L2 or I-214 did not significantly affect the half-life and maturation of APP, or the secretion of secreted APP, the secretion of β-amyloid peptide (Aβ)40 and Aβ42 was increased by overexpression of Fe65L2, but not by that of I-214. These results suggest that Fe65L2 affects Aβ production and a possible regulation of Fe65L2 function by alternative splicing.

Abstract:
Insulin-like growth factor–binding protein-5 (IGFBP-5) has been shown to bind to fibroblast extracellular matrix (ECM). Extracellular matrix binding of IGFBP-5 leads to a decrease in its affinity for insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), which allows IGF-I to better equilibrate with IGF receptors. When the amount of IGFBP-5 that is bound to ECM is increased by exogenous addition, IGF-I’s effect on fibroblast growth is enhanced. In this study we identified the specific basic residues in IGFBP-5 that mediate its binding to porcine smooth-muscle cell (pSMC) ECM. An IGFBP-5 mutant containing alterations of basic residues at positions 211, 214, 217, and 218 had the greatest reduction in ECM binding, although three other mutants, R214A, R207A/K211N, and K202A/R206N/R207A, also had major decreases. In contrast, three other mutants, R201A/K202N/R206N/R208A, and K217N/R218A and K211N, had only minimal reductions in ECM binding. This suggested that residues R207 and R214 were the most important for binding, whereas alterations in K211 and R218, which align near them, had minimal effects. To determine the effect of a reduction in ECM binding on the cellular replication response to IGF-I, pSMCs were transfected with the mutant cDNAs that encoded the forms of IGFBPs with the greatest changes in ECM binding. The ECM content of IGFBP-5 from cultures expressing the K211N, R214A, R217A/R218A, and K202A/R206N/R207A mutants was reduced by 79.6 and 71.7%, respectively, compared with cells expressing the wild-type protein. In contrast, abundance of the R201A/K202N/R206N/R208A mutant was reduced by only 14%. Cells expressing the two mutants with reduced ECM binding had decreased DNA synthesis responses to IGF-I, but the cells expressing the R201A/K202N/R206N/R208A mutant responded well to IGF-I. The findings suggest that specific basic amino acids at positions 207 and 214 mediate the binding of IGFBP-5 to pSMC/ECM. Smooth-muscle cells that constitutively express the mutants that bind weakly to ECM are less responsive to IGF-I, suggesting that ECM binding of IGFBP-5 is an important variable that determines cellular responsiveness.

Abstract:
The results of research on the production of raw timber assortments for the stands of poplar clones Robusta and I-214 in Slovakia are presented in this paper. Models of assortment yield tables were constructed, separately for each clone, in dependence on the yield class and stand age. The construction was based on the models of yield tables, stand assortment tables, models of external quality and damage to stems. Robusta clone produces by about 15–20% higher proportions of the highest quality assortments than I-214 clone. I-214 clone produces faster and higher proportions of average- and below-average quality assortments.

Abstract:

Denna studies avsikt är att ta reda på hur uppföljning och tillvaratagande av projektmedlemmarnas kollektiva kunskap utifrån projektet sker. Syftet är även att ta reda på hur denna kunskap ska kunna förmedlas till dem som är i behov av denna.

Vi har valt att arbeta med uppsatsen utifrån en kvalitativ metod och ett abduktivt angreppssätt. Vår problemdiskussion tog sin början i en tankekarta där vi använde oss av antal olika teoretiska begrepp som det valda problemområdet kunde tänkas handla om. De teorier vi huvudsakligen valt att bygga upp vårt teorikapitel utifrån är teorier kring knowledge management, lärande organisationer och kunskapsöverföring. Utifrån dessa teorier genomförde vi sedan sex intervjuer med sju intervjupersoner för att bringa klarhet i hur det ser ut i verkligheten. De fallföretag som vår empiri grundar sig på är Sustainable Sweden Southeast AB, Vatten och Samhällsteknik AB, Puck och Tunga fordon.

Studien har resulterat i att vi har kunnat få en del indikationer från de intervjuade personerna och organisationerna. Vi kommer slutligen i uppsatsen att presentera några rekommendationer för hur vi anser att nätverksorganisationer skulle kunna förbättra sin erfarenhetsåtervinning. Slutsatsen kan därmed sägas vara vår resa till förståelse.

Titel: Omvårdnadsmiljön på två somatiska vårdavdelningar i Bangkok, Thailand Bakgrund: Miljö ur ett hälsoperspektiv omfattar den fysiska, kulturella och psykosociala aspekten av omvårdnad. Miljön på en vårdavdelning kan både främja hälsa och ha en ogynnsam verkan. Omvårdnad är ett universellt fenomen men kulturen formar människans syn på hälsa och även hur hälsa kan uppnås. Sjukvården i Thailand präglas av buddhismen. Syfte: Beskriva omvårdnadsmiljön kring patienter på två somatiska vårdavdelningar i Bangkok. Design: Studien har inspirerats av etnografisk metod. Data insamlades genom observationer, utförda under tio arbetspass, nedtecknades i loggböcker för att därefter bearbetas genom kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Två teman formades: Dagliga rutiner och patientens omgivning, med kategorierna rang/attityd, omvårdnad, miljö/aktivitet och ljud/lukt. Första temat beskriver vardagen för patienter och vårdpersonal samt vilka omvårdnadsmetoder som användes. Det andra temat beskriver miljön och pågående aktiviteter. Slutsats: Den thailändska kulturen speglas i omvårdnadsmiljön på avdelningarna; det råder en stark hierarki bland vårdpersonalen och det utförs många rutinmässiga omvårdnadsåtgärder. Vårdpersonalens största fokus i det dagliga arbetet är arbetsuppgifterna; det är svårt att tyda om patienternas omvårdnadsbehov styr omvårdnadsarbetet. Patienterna är omgivna av mycket personal som orsakar rörelse och ljud i patientsalen, men skapar också trygghet i form av att ha nära kontakt till patienten.
Title: Nursing environment in two somatic wards in Bangkok, Thailand Background: Environment from a health perspective includes the physical, cultural and psychosocial aspects of nursing. The environment in a ward can both promote health and have an adverse effect. Nursing is a universal phenomenon, but culture shapes people's views on health and also how health can be achieved. Medical care in Thailand is characterized by Buddhism. Aim: Describe the nursing environment around the patients in two somatic wards in Bangkok. Design: This study was inspired by ethnographic method. Data were collected through observations, conducted over ten sessions, was recorded in logbooks and then processed by content analysis. Results: Two themes were formed: Daily routines and Patient environment, with the categories rank/attitude, care, environment/activity and sound/smell. First theme describes daily lives for patients and caregivers and the nursing methods used. Second theme describes the environment and the ongoing activities. Conclusion: The Thai culture is reflected in the nursing environment at the wards; there is a strong hierarchy among health professionals and many routine nursing activities are performed. The health professionals’ main focus in their daily work was the work tasks; it is hard to decipher whether the patients’ care needs govern the nursing. Patients are surrounded by staff members who cause movement and sound in the patient room, but also create peace of mind by having close contact to the patient.

Abstract:

In vitro-test för upptäckt och behandling av tumör eller mikrometastaser har de senaste 30 åren gjort stora framsteg tack vare immunokemi och nya framgångsrika cellodlings- tekniker som bättre reproducerar celltillväxt i tre dimensioner (3D) och det omgivande stromat (multicellulär tumörsfäroidodling). TS1-218 scFv (single chain variable fragment) är en monoklonal antikropp som har affinitet till ett protein tillhörande cytoskelettet (cytokeratin). Av TS1-218 har skapats olika varianter (en dimer TS1-2182 och en mutant HE1-Q) med syftet att öka affinitet och retentionstid på platsen för dess verkan. I det här projektet försökte vi att testa och jämföra egenskaper hos alla 3 joderade antikropparna genom att inkubera odlade Hela Hep 2 tumörcellssfäroider med dessa antikroppar. Alla tre antikroppsvarianter visade god förmåga att penetrera sfäroider och att binda deras epitop i cytokeratin 8. Försöken visade att det fanns affinitetsskillnader mellan TS1-218 monomer, dimer och mutant vilket visade sig som olika inbindningsförmåga till sfäroiderna.

Denna uppsats behandlar Paulus syn på lagen vilket är ett mycket omdebatterat område inom paulusforskningen. Frågan om Paulus lagsyn är så central för den övergripande paulustolkingen att alla som vill förstå Paulus och hans texter måste bilda sig en uppfattning om detta. Det har skrivits många hyllmeter och diskussionen verkar långt ifrån avslutad. Frågan kräver dock tydliga avgränsningar för att kunna behandlas i denna relativt korta uppsats. Därför kommer jag fokusera på en perikop i ett av Paulus brev som behandlar denna fråga. Min frågeställning blir då: Vad menar Paulus med ”lagen” i Rom 3:21-31?

Sebbene Filippo V sia uno dei monarchi antichi meglio attestati nella tradizione letteraria ed epigrafica, la complessità della sua regalità sfugge ancora alla ricerca storica moderna, che finora ha preferito concentrarsi sulla coeva espansione romana nel Mediterraneo. Dopo la vecchia monografia di Walbank (1940; 19602), la tesi costituisce dunque la prima analisi politica della basileia di Filippo V e della sua relazione con le leghe greche alla fine del III secolo a.C. La ricerca collega all'orizzonte politico e istituzionale ellenistico i primi 12 anni di governo di Filippo V (229-217 a.C.) ripercorrendo le fasi dell’azione politica del re: una prima fase riguarda principalmente il ruolo di Filippo durante la reggenza e il regno di Antigono Dosone; una seconda fase esplora tra il 222 e il 220 l'inizio della guerra con gli Etoli; una terza sezione è dedicata all'apertura di un fronte navale nel 219 e al successo della campagna etolica. La quarta parte indaga sull'impegno del 218 in Peloponneso di Filippo, mentre l'ultima sezione approfondisce l’azione diplomatica e militare di Filippo nel 217 e gli accordi di pace a Naupatto. Anche grazie alla buona documentazione epigrafica e letteraria, Filippo V è un paradigma unico per ridefinire il significato della regalità ellenistica. Although Philip V is one of the best epigraphically and literarily attested ancient monarchs, the structure, performance, and the rationale of his kingship still elude modern scholarship, which has hitherto preferred to focus on the coeval Roman expansion in the Mediterranean. The following is the first political analysis of the ancient Macedonian basileia and its relation with the Greek Leagues at the end of the 3rd century BC. The research connects the first 12 years of rule of Philip V (229-217 BC.) to the Hellenistic political and institutional horizon, and distinguishes five chronological stages of Philip’s reign according to the political agency of the king: an early stage between Demetrios II’s death in 229 and 222, mainly concerned with Philip’s role during Antigonos Doson’s rule and the ascension to the throne; a second phase between 222 and 220 exploring the beginning of the war with the Aitolians; a third section devoted to the opening of a naval front in 219 and the successful Aitolian campaign. Part four investigates Philip’s 218 Peloponnesian engagement, while the last section expands on Philip’s 217 diplomatic and military agency and the peace agreements in Naupactos. Considering his dynastic ties, court politics, military innovations, diplomatic relations and administrative reforms before the Roman intervention in the East, the work attempts to provide a source-based first description and analysis of the mature Macedonian monarchy and its relation with the Greek world. Sebbene Filippo V sia uno dei monarchi antichi meglio attestati nella tradizione letteraria ed epigrafica, la complessità della sua regalità sfugge ancora alla ricerca storica moderna, che finora ha preferito concentrarsi sulla coeva espansione romana nel Mediterraneo. Dopo la vecchia monografia di Walbank (1940; 19602), la tesi costituisce dunque la prima analisi politica della basileia di Filippo V e della sua relazione con le leghe greche alla fine del III secolo a.C. La ricerca collega all'orizzonte politico e istituzionale ellenistico i primi 12 anni di governo di Filippo V (229-217 a.C.) ripercorrendo le fasi dell’azione politica del re: una prima fase riguarda principalmente il ruolo di Filippo durante la reggenza e il regno di Antigono Dosone; una seconda fase esplora tra il 222 e il 220 l'inizio della guerra con gli Etoli; una terza sezione è dedicata all'apertura di un fronte navale nel 219 e al successo della campagna etolica. La quarta parte indaga sull'impegno del 218 in Peloponneso di Filippo, mentre l'ultima sezione approfondisce l’azione diplomatica e militare di Filippo nel 217 e gli accordi di pace a Naupatto. In vitro-test för upptäckt och behandling av tumör eller mikrometastaser har de senaste 30 åren gjort stora framsteg tack vare immunokemi och nya framgångsrika cellodlings- tekniker som bättre reproducerar celltillväxt i tre dimensioner (3D) och det omgivande stromat (multicellulär tumörsfäroidodling). TS1-218 scFv (single chain variable fragment) är en monoklonal antikropp som har affinitet till ett protein tillhörande cytoskelettet (cytokeratin). Av TS1-218 har skapats olika varianter (en dimer TS1-2182 och en mutant HE1-Q) med syftet att öka affinitet och retentionstid på platsen för dess verkan. I det här projektet försökte vi att testa och jämföra egenskaper hos alla 3 joderade antikropparna genom att inkubera odlade Hela Hep 2 tumörcellssfäroider med dessa antikroppar. Alla tre antikroppsvarianter visade god förmåga att penetrera sfäroider och att binda deras epitop i cytokeratin 8. Försöken visade att det fanns affinitetsskillnader mellan TS1-218 monomer, dimer och mutant vilket visade sig som olika inbindningsförmåga till sfäroiderna.

Konvensjonell krigføring er ikke avleggs. Erfaringer fra fem-dagers krigen i Georgia i august 2008 viser at dette fortsatt er mulig og derfor høyst reelt. Men, det siste tiårets transformasjon av vestlige militære styrker og innsats mot opprørere verden over, har betydelig begrenset de fleste nasjoners evne til å utkjempe en konvensjonell krig.

Flere erfaringer kan trekkes fra den georgiske hærens kamp mot en sjokkerende og overveldende russisk aggresjon. Fra norsk landmakts perspektiv bør de mest sentrale være viktigheten av kombinerte effekter og robuste brigade strukturer, og virkningen av adekvat luftvern, indirekte ildstøtte og panservernsystemer i kamp mot en mekanisert motstander støttet av luftstyrker.

Som følge av en endret verdenssituasjon er realismen igjen på fremmarsj og kan anvendes til å forklare og anta fremtidige utfordringer. Vi kan ikke eksakt predikere fremtiden, men fremtiden vil høyst sannsynlig bringe med seg elementer fra historien. Mens NATO strever med å finne sin plass i en endret globalisert verden, samtidig som den utkjemper en hybrid krig i Afghanistan, reiser stormaktsrivalisering seg igjen på samme måte som den gjorde på begynnelsen av forrige århundre.

For å kunne ivareta nasjonale interesser og opprettholde nasjonal suverenitet, hviler fortsatt en militær evne på robuste og balanserte militære styrker. Landkrig spiller en sentral rolle i alle former for selvforsvar og avskrekking. En styrkning av Norges landmakt vil være nødvendig for å nå denne ambisjonen.


Conventional warfare is not obsolete. Lessons from the five-day war in Georgia in August 2008, shows that this possibility is still valid and very much alive. However, last decade’s transformation of western military and counterinsurgency efforts around the globe has severely restricted most nations’ capability to wage conventional warfare.

Several lessons can be identified from the Georgian Army’s struggle against a shocking and overwhelming Russian aggression. From a Norwegian Land forces perspective, the most important should be the importance of combined arms and robust brigade size units, the impact of adequate air defence capabilities, indirect fire and anti-armour systems against a mechanized opponent supported by sufficient airpower.

Due to a changing world order, realism is charging ground and can be used to explain and foresee future challenges. We can not precisely predict the future; however the future will certainly hold elements of the past.

As NATO is trying to find its place in a changing globalized world, simultaneously as it is waging a protracted hybrid war in Afghanistan, great power rivalry is again rising amongst the nations like it did in the beginning of the 20th century.

In order to support national interest and maintain national sovereignty, military capability still depends on robust and well balanced conventional military forces. Land warfare plays an important role in any kind of self defence and deterrence. Strengthening of Norway’s land forces would certainly be needed in order to achieve this aim.

AbstractThe first 21 years of my life were spent in Barcelona (all of them under General Franco’s regime, since I was born in 1939). The following 14 years I spent in Oxford, Stanford, in Andalusia and again in Oxford (St. Antony’s College) until 1973. In between, long stays in Cuba, Peru and Brazil and some periods in Paris, with the publishing house of Ruedo ibérico. At 35 years of age and feeling rather defeated by the lack of “transitional justice” in Spain after Franco’s death, I came back to Barcelona, with a chair in the new Universitat Autònoma (UAB) in Economics and Economic History, which I held until I was 70 years of age. I continued my travels in the sabbatical years, to Oxford in 1984–1985, Stanford again in 1988–1989, to Ecuador (the Flacso in Quito) in 1995–1995, to Yale University in 1999–2000 and in the meantime also often to India after my first visit in 1988. My interests and my books followed this trajectory, first some books on agrarian history and land conflicts in Andalusia, Cuba and Peru between 1968 and 1977, then between 1984 and 2022 many books on ecological economics and political ecology.

AbstractMikhail Bakhtin’s 1926 essay, “Contemporary Vitalism,” includes Bergson alongside Driesch in a short list of “the most published representatives of vitalism in Western Europe,” and, indeed, Bakhtin’s critique of Driesch is intended to undermine what he calls the “conceptual framework” of “contemporary vitalism” as a whole (The crisis of modernism: Bergson and the vitalist controversy. Eds. Frederick Burwick and Paul Douglass. Cambridge University Press, New York, 1992, p 81). The conceptual framework that Driesch and Bergson are supposed to have shared in common consists at bottom, for Bakhtin, in the ontological commitment to the autonomy of life, “its independence, its disconnectedness from physical-chemical phenomena” (81). This has long been understood as the defining mark of vitalism, at least in the mind of its critics: the contention that matter and the mechanical models that track it are insufficient to the reality of biological forms, and that the explanation of life therefore requires the postulation of a non-mechanical, possibly immaterial, uniquely vital principle, force, substance, or property. Recent scholarship has made considerable headway in complicating these pictures by attending to earlier and subtler forms of materialism, and by distinguishing between different types of vitalism and drawing out the heuristic or scientific utility of some of them (Wolfe, Eidos 14: 212–235, 2011, Antropol Exp 17(13): 215–224, 2017; cf. Wolfe and Normandin, Vitalism and the scientific image in post-enlightenment life science, 1800–2010. Springer, Dordrecht, 2013). The focus of some of this work has been on the critical revaluation of Driesch himself (Bognon et al., Kairos J Philos Sci 20(1): 113–140, 2018). Yet the status of Bergson’s commitment to the existence of a vital principle remains underdeveloped. In the midst of what some are calling a “Bergson renaissance,” I think that it calls for the same kind of critical reappraisal (Ansell-Pearson, Bergson: thinking beyond the human condition. Bloomsbury, New York, 2018: 1; cf. Lundy, Deleuze’s Bergsonism. Edinburgh University Press, Edinburgh, p 5, 2018). The aim of this paper is to attempt the outline of an answer to that call. I begin with a brief summary of Driesch’s vitalism, then I reconstruct Bergson’s underappreciated critique of internal finality, or what Kant called inner purposiveness, and locate in it a subterranean criticism of vital principles of the Drieschian variety as well. Two consequences follow: first, if Bergson is to be considered a vitalist, it cannot be in the Drieschian sense and we are therefore wrong to associate the two; and second, if Bergson is to be considered a vitalist, then his vitalism has to be understood—somewhat counterintuitively, and certainly contra Driesch—on the basis of a principle external to the ostensible individuality of biological forms.

Abstract:
Bosna i Hercegovina prihvata načelno globalna opredjeljenja i proklamovane ciljeve relevantnih međunarodnih institucija (Pariški Sporazum, Evropski Zeleni Plan, i drugi) za prelaz na održivi niskougljenični razvoj baziran na kružnoj ekonomiji neuslovljenoj upotrebom prirodnih resursa, te težnju ka nultoj neto emisiji stakleničkih gasova. U energetskom sektoru to podrazumijeva povećanje energijske efikasnosti, te bezuvjetni prelaz na obnovljive izvore energije i eliminaciju fosilnih goriva. I dok je opšte opredjeljenje nesporno, način i dinamika ostvarenja pojedinih ciljeva u zacrtanom roku do 2050. godine sa najmanje negativnih ekonomskih, socijalnih, sigurnosnih i političkih posljedica predstavlja ozbiljni izazov, posebno u zemljama koje se, kao Bosna i Hercegovina, tradicionalno oslanjaju na sopstveni ugalj kao primarni energent. U cilju doprinosa iznalaženju optimalnih rješenja u energetskoj transformaciji, a u okviru Plana rada za 2019 godinu, Odbor za energiju, energetiku i okoliš (OEEO) Akademije nauka i umjetnosti Bosne i Hercegovine (ANUBiH) u saradnji i uz finansijsku podršku JP Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine d.d. Sarajevo, je organizovao regionalnno naučno-stručno savjetovanje: Budućnost postojećih i novih termoelektrana u BiH u energetskoj tranziciji, koje je održano 21. 11. 2019. godine u ANUBiH u Sarajevu. Cilj Savjetovanja je bio da nauka i struka, pod pokroviteljstvom i u okviru ANUBiH, u saradnji sa stručnjacima iz EU i Regije razmjene iskustva, stavove i planove o upotrebi uglja i biogoriva u proizvodnji električne i toplinske energije u periodu do 2050. godine. Na Savjetovanju, kojem su prisustvovali predstavnici vlasti i zvaničnih institucija iz BiH, naučni radnici, stručnjaci, menadžmenti elektroprivrednih organizacija iz oba bh. entiteta, je na bosanskom, srpskom, hrvatskom ili engleskom jeziku na prethodno odabrane teme izloženo 15 referata po pozivu. Pored stručnjaka iz BiH, referate su podnijeli i pozvani eksperti iz zemalja EU i okruženja sa elektroprivrednom strukturom i izazovima u toj oblasti sličnim kao što ih ima i BiH, a koje u proizvodnji električne energije karakteriše značajni, ili čak dominantni oslonac na fosilna goriva, naročito ugalj. U referatima su izloženi mogući modeli tranzicije i iskustva iz BiH, Srbije, Grčke, Sjeverne Makedonije, Poljske i Njemačke. Prošireni sažeci i slide prezentacije svih referata na jezicima na kojima su referati izloženi, kao i Zaključci Savjetovanja su sadržani u ovom Posebnom izdanju ANUBiH. Savjetovanje je potvrdilo da je dekarbonizacija elektroenergetskog sektora u EU i Regiji do 2050. godine opravdan, ali i veoma zahtjevan cilj. Svaka država koja se obavezala za takav cilj, mora razviti svoj model održive tranzicije, koristeći vlastito znanje, pomoć eksperata EU, te iskustva i modele drugih. U tom smislu zaključeno je da je veoma važno u što je moguće kraćem roku, u saradnji sa Energetskom zajednicom, detaljno i odgovorno koncipirati razvoj energetskog sektora u Bosni i Hercegovini u tranzicijskom periodu, dajući pritom do znanja Evropskoj uniji, ali i svima drugima, da je Bosna i Hercegovina spremna pratiti i ispoštovati generalno postavljene ciljeve u toj oblasti, uvažavajući pri tom svoju potrebu za energetskom neovisnošću. U tom cilju potrebno je definirati jasnu viziju, sa prohodnim putem do postavljenih ciljeva, uzimajući u obzir sve relevantne direktive i regulativu EU, ali i realne mogućnosti i potrebe Bosne i Hercegovine. Iskustva i poruke izložene u referatima, diskusije tokom Savjetovanja, te saznanja do kojih smo došli, a koji su sumirani u Zaključcima ovog dokumenta, čine korisnu bazu i orijentir za konkretizaciju strategije za aktuelnu tranziciju energetskog sektora BiH.
