AbstractThis paper focuses on two lines of the poem Aetna that are generally considered to be corrupt (586–587). I suggest two emendations aimed at restoring a reasonable form of the text, consistent with the traditional portrait of the Pandionids. In order to solve the crux it is necessary to restore the two topoi related to the representation of the Pandionids after their metamorphoses: the place where they reside and the mourning song of the nightingale.

Summary We have analysed HEAO-1 scanning observations of the X-ray pulsar 1E2259 + 586, obtaining a pulse period from 1978 January of 6.978586 ± 0.000006 s. This extends the spindown trend seen by later observers to earlier times. No evidence is found for a second derivative to the period. The luminosity and pulse profile we derive are similar to those of subsequent observations, with no evidence for large-scale variability on a time-scale of days or months. From January 1992 to January 1997, 586 patients with mitral incompetence were treated by Carpentier's techniques in the Heart Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Artykuł ten dotyczy statutu parafii. Parafia, ustanowiona zgodnie z prawem, posiada osobowość prawną na mocy samego prawa (ok. 515 § 3). Natomiast zespół osób lub rzeczy może uzyskać osobowość prawną na podstawie statutów wcześniej zatwierdzonych przez kompetentną władzę kościelną. Autor wyjaśnia, że co do zasady, zarządzanie dobrami kościelnymi jest określone zarówno w prawie powszechnym, jak i w statutach. On the basis of the near-complete linkage disequilibrium of the insulin variable number of tandem repeats ( INS VNTR) allele with the neighboring −23Hph1 A/T single-nucleotide polymorphism, previous studies have documented the association of class I (“short”) and class III (“long”) INS VNTR alleles with metabolic parameters, including circulating insulin levels. A simple and cost-effective optical sensing system based on quinizarin fluorescent dye (QZ) for the selective and reversible sensing of CH3COO− anions is reported.
