The three publishing houses of Wen-wu in Peking, Shanghai shu-tien, and Ku-chi in Tientsin joined forces to produce a new edition of the Taoist Canon. The Tao-tsang they published in 1988 is meant to be an improvement on the so-called Cheng-t'ung Tao-tsang printed in 1921–23 by the Han-fen lou branch of Shanghai Commercial Press. The latter takes as its foundation the copy of the Ming Canon from the archives of the Pai-yün Kuan (White Cloud Abbey) in Peking. The woodcut edition of the Ming Canon contains two components. Buddhism was transmitted to China during the Han Dynasty (202 BCE-220 CE) and integrated with existing Chinese cultures such as Confucianism and Taoism. Within Buddhism itself, Avalokiteśvara, a Bodhisattva who is believed to have made a great vow to assist sentient beings in times of difficulty and postpone his Buddhahood until he has assisted every sentient being in achieving nirvana, experienced a long process of change. One of the striking changes in the image of Avalokiteśvara in China is the shifting of the gender of Avalokiteśvara. The great Sui-Tang dynasties patronized Buddhism as

Though scholars have not so far addressed the question of the origins of the text itself, a certain willingness to accept the attribution of the commentary has already been made manifest. Yet to the eye of the expert in Sung Taoism this attribution raises serious doubts: text and commentary display features much more reminiscent of Sung religion than that of

They (disputants) must be ready to submit themselves to the constituted authorities, have faith in the traditional authorities and accept judgements. Emically known as “Buddha halls” (fotang 佛堂), these places range from large-scale temple complexes, to small niches of worship in people’s private residences. Abstract Plasma cell dyscrasias (PCDs) are diseases of the hematologic system, with Multiple Myeloma as the most common disease. Less common PCDs include primary and secondary extramedullary plasmacytomas (EMP), which occur in soft tissues. EMPs are typically solitary and infrequent, often localized in the upper aerodigestive and gastrointestinal tracts, lung, and lymph nodes among other organs, and can convert to Multiple Myeloma. Secondary extramedullary plasmacytomas are often noted in advanced disease following multiple rounds of therapy and are commonly associated with poor prognosis. Stu

For newly diagnosed MM (NDMM), standard three-drug treatment regimens—such as the combination of bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (VRd)—and the more recent inclusion of a fourth drug, anti-CD38 antibody immunotherapy, have significantly improved patient outcomes by targeting multiple mechanisms of tumorigenesis.
