Abstract:
On November 2, 1978, the Detroit Free Press ran two big headlines. The first, "Chrysler in the Valley of Loss," and the second, "Lee Iacocca joins Chrysler." A savior was born. Haphazardly looking was the CEO John J. Riccardo's office. Iacocca immediately understood why Chrysler was on the brink of failure---no order. Besides the fact that Riccardo needed discipline, the CEO's assistant spent most of the time preoccupied with personal matters. Many CEOs rely on the organizational skills of the office administrator. Thus, change was inevitable. Lee Iacocca was the key factor in this change. Lee

This paper will discuss the bankruptcies experienced by U.S. automakers in both 1979 and 2009. The main factors which led the automakers into financial ruin was the uncontrolled power of labor unions, the severe financial impact of oil embargos, the aggressive imposition of federal regulations and the increasing dominance of Japanese imports. After discussing these important factors, the paper will describe the specifics of Chrysler’s bailout experience in 1979 with the positive public acceptance of the government loans, largely due to the character of Lee Iacocca. Abstract:
This dissertation significantly expands our knowledge of the biography and artistic contributions of Hughie Lee-Smith (1915–1999), an African American artist. I argue that between 1925 and 1968 Lee-Smith’s personal, educational, and professional experiences within the context of Jim Crow America and the Cold War era influenced the style and content of his figurative work and his opportunities for success. Throughout the dissertation, I examine his inspirations from art history and position his works alongside those of his contemporaries to show that his paintings are based on observations, art

Abstract Lee Iacocca redeveloped the Chrysler car corporation in the 1980s in a ‘comeback of the century’, which also launched the minivan and later popularized the SUV (sport utility vehicle). The redevelopment had two stages. The first was the famous ‘comeback’ in the early 1980s, when near-bankrupt Chrysler underwent a drastic cost-cutting turnaround as well as a reorienting redevelopment. CEO Iacocca reoriented by prioritizing front-wheel drive automobiles and diversifying into an innovative new product—the minivan—that bolstered his remedial renewal of Chrysler. However, he left the redev

Abstract Perhaps no topic within the field of management excites more than that of leadership. It is a subject that has long captured the imagination of theologians, historians, and philosophers. Much of history concerns vivid descriptions of great military figures such as Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Joseph Stalin, and George Pat ton, as well as more modern corporate visionaries-Bill Gates, Lee Iacocca, and Jack Welch, Jr. We ask ourselves how these people built their empires and led their people.

Abstract:
Abstract These quotations from Lee and Boccaccio highlight the gulf which separates the medieval from the modern sensibility on the issue of authority and judgment. For Boccaccio, and, no doubt, the majority of medieval men and women, the evidence of the senses was at best only a corroborating proof, and a secondary one at that, in the search to determine the truth. The “real” was always unapparent, hidden beneath some surface. Such a fideistic attitude is nowhere more pronounced than in the lives of the saints, where human flesh and blood have become the dwelling place for the God of Abraham,
