Abstract:
Objective: Gastro retentive drug delivery system (GRDDS) pertaining to its attributes like gastric retention time and the extended drug release profile has significantly improved patient compliance. The objective of the present study is to formulate and evaluate a stomach-specific floating-bioadhesive tablet of imatinib mesylate for prolonged residence in the stomach in the treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).Methods: All the tablets were prepared with hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), guar gum, sodium alginate, and carbopol using direct compression technique. Physical characterization, in vitro dissolution, the mucoadhesive force along with data analysis was done on each tablet. Results: The pre-compression characteristics of powder mixtures found to be satisfactory for all formulation batches. The results of physical evaluation for all batches were complying with pharmacopeia specification. The swelling index for all formulation batches was approximately 100% after 8 hours. The bioadhesive force (mean ± SD) reported in a range of 0.05 ± 0.09 to 0.18 ± 0.06 N/m2. It was observed that the release rate of tablets was decreased when the viscosity and concentration of the polymer were increased. Formulation batches IB1, IB2, IB4, IB5, IB6, IB9, IB10, IB11, and IB13 follows Higuchi Matrix model kinetics; whereas IB3, IB7, IB8, and IB12 follows Korsmeyer- Peppas model kinetics.Conclusion: Formulation batch IB9 reported a considerable swelling index, floating behavior, more bioadhesive strength with uniform drug release pattern. Therefore formulation batch IB9 was selected as optimized batch and were kept for further evaluation studies.

Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Desa Wongaya Betan dengan melibatkan 4 kelompok tani ternak yang masing-masing anggotanya terdiri dari 4 orang. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah rancangan satu unit biogas sederhana dengan memanfaatkan limbah ternak. Kegiatan ini diperkirakan bisa berkembang selanjutnya mengingat potensi desa yang cukup potensial

Abstract:
The interest for Business Process Management (BPM) is increasing in Sweden. Government agencies such as the Swedish Nation Board of Student Aid (CSN), the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket) and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) are implementing BPM into their organizations. Sogeti is an IT-consulting company that has employees that works at CSN with BPM, and one of the tools they use for integration is IBM Integration Designer. Since this technology is new and is gaining popularity, there is a need for increased knowledge about it. This thesis report explores the tool IBM Integration Designer, regarding its different ways to integrate with systems and compares the different options for exposing the integration solu- tions. By researching documentation from IBM, and by learning how to use the tool itself, knowledge could be acquired about IBM Integration Designer. The result was an implementation of the five different export bindings: SCA, HTTP, SOAP over HTTP, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) and Java Messaging Service (JMS), a comparison of these export bindings and finally a service in IBM Inte- gration Designer that accesses a database and uses an external SMS API to send text messages. The result has been satisfactory to the purpose of this project in giving insight into IBM Integration Designer, one of the popular tools for inte- grating BMP.

The Voice Main Card (VMC) functions as an enhanced telephone answering machine and is designed as a plug-in card for the IBM PC and compatibles. In addition to standard answering machine functions, the VMC features programmable outgoing message selection, message routing, response to caller's touch tone signals, and remote programming ability. The VMC will answer incoming telephone calls, deliver outgoing messages which are Programmably selectable from as many as 16 digitized audio messages stored on the PC's hard disk, record incoming messages to the hard disk or optionally to an external tape recorder, route messages to a specified receiver, respond to a caller's touch tone signals, and enter a remote programming mode as a result of a special code sent by the caller. Audio messages are processed digitally via A/D and D/A converters which receive and send 8-bit data to and from the IBM PC through a selectable port address. The A/D conversion is implemented with the ADC0802 which is operated at a clock rate of 512 kHz. The D/A conversion is implemented with the DAC0830. Interface with the telephone line is accomplished with the speech circuit TP5700 coupled through opto-couplers. Messages are recorded using an external 600-ohm dynamic microphone and played back through an external 8-ohm speaker. A full-featured, pull-down menu program is provided with the VMC and implements all programmable functions. Data In/Out (I/O) with the card is interrupt-driven to allow apparent simultaneous disk I/O.

Abstract:
This paper describes the IBM Power8 system in comparison to the Intel Xeon processors, widely used in today’s solutions. The performance is not evaluated only on the whole system level but also on the level of threads, cores and a memory. Different metrics are demonstrated on typical optimized algorithms. The benchmarked Power8 processor provides extremely fast memory providing sustainable bandwidth up to 145 GB/s between main memory and processor, which Intel is unable to compete. Computation power is comparable (Matrix multiplication) or worse (N-body simulation, division, more complex algorithms) in comparison with current Intel Haswell-EP. The IBM Power8 is able to compete Intel processors these days and it will be interesting to observe the future generation of Power9 and its performance in comparison to current and future Intel processors.

This diploma thesis presents Big Data technologies and their possible use cases and applications. Theoretical part is initially focused on definition of term Big Data and afterwards is focused on Big Data technology, particularly on Hadoop framework. There are described principles of Hadoop, such as distributed storage and data processing, and its individual components. Furthermore are presented the largest vendors of Big Data technologies. At the end of this part of the thesis are described possible use cases of Big Data technologies and also some case studies. The practical part describes implementation of demo example of Big Data technologies and it is divided into two chapters. The first chapter of the practical part deals with conceptual design of demo example, used products and architecture of the solution. Afterwards, implementation of the demo example is described in the second chapter, from preparation of demo environment to creation of applications. Goals of this thesis are description and characteristics of Big Data, presentation of the largest vendors and their Big Data products, description of possible use cases of Big Data technologies and especially implementation of demo example in Big Data tools from IBM.

Cloud services are one of the fast expanding fields of today. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft and IBM offer these cloud services in various forms. As this field progresses, the natural question occurs ”What can you do with the technology today?”. The technology offers scalability for hardware usage and user demands, that is attractive to developers and companies. This thesis tries to examine the applicability of cloud services, by combining it with the question: ”Is it possible to make an automated thesis examiner?” By narrowing down the services to IBM Watson web services, this thesis main question reads ”Is it possible to make an automated thesis examiner using IBM Watson?”. Hence the goal of this thesis was to create an automated thesis examiner. The project used a modified version of Bunge’s technological research method. Where amongst the first steps, a definition of an software thesis examiner for student theses was created. Then an empirical study of the Watson services, that seemed relevant from the literature study, proceeded. These empirical studies allowed a deeper understanding about the services’ practices and boundaries. From these implications and the definition of a software thesis examiner for student theses, an idea of how to build and implement an automated thesis examiner was created. Most of IBM Watson’s services were thoroughly evaluated, except for the service Machine Learning, that should have been studied further if the time resources would not have been depleted. This project found the Watson web services useful in many cases but did not find a service that was well suited for thesis examination. Although the goal was not reached, this thesis researched the Watson web services and can be used to improve understanding of its applicability, and for future implementations that face the provided definition.
Molntjänster är ett av de områden som utvecklas snabbast idag. Företag såsom Amazon, Google, Microsoft och IBM tillhandahåller dessa tjänster i flera former. Allteftersom utvecklingen tar fart, uppstår den naturliga frågan ”Vad kan man göra med den här tekniken idag?”. Tekniken erbjuder en skalbarhet mot använd hårdvara och antalet användare, som är attraktiv för utvecklare och företag. Det här examensarbetet försöker svara på hur molntjänster kan användas genom att kombinera det med frågan ”Är det möjligt att skapa en automatiserad examensarbetesrapportsgranskare?”. Genom att avgränsa undersökningen till IBM Watson molntjänster försöker arbetet huvudsakligen svara på huvudfrågan ”Är det möjligt att skapa en automatiserad examensarbetesrapportsgranskare med Watson molntjänster?”. Därmed var målet med arbetet att skapa en automatiserad examensarbetesrapportsgranskare. Projektet följde en modifierad version av Bunge’s teknologiska undersökningsmetod, där det första steget var att skapa en definition för en mjukvaruexamensarbetesrapportsgranskare följt av en utredning av de Watson molntjänster som ansågs relevanta från litteratur studien. Dessa undersöktes sedan vidare i empirisk studie. Genom de empiriska studierna skapades förståelse för tjänsternas tillämpligheter och begränsningar, för att kunna kartlägga hur de kan användas i en automatiserad examensarbetsrapportsgranskare. De flesta tjänster behandlades grundligt, förutom Machine Learning, som skulle behövt vidare undersökning om inte tidsresurserna tog slut. Projektet visar på att Watson molntjänster är användbara men inte perfekt anpassade för att granska examensarbetesrapporter. Även om inte målet uppnåddes, undersöktes Watson molntjänster, vilket kan ge förståelse för deras användbarhet och framtida implementationer för att möta den skapade definitionen.

There are two different types of platforms in the world of business intelligence - commercial and open source. The main objective of this thesis is to compare two representatives of both worlds - IBM Cognos BI version 10 and Pentaho BI Suite 4.1. This thesis is focused on the theoretical comparison of platforms according to defined benchmarks. Practical application of both platforms is described on example of model company MATASTAV. In the introduction the main topic, objectives and benefits are defined. Then it is necessary to describe expressions that may occur on following pages. The initial situation is defined by example of company MATASTAV. Both platforms are introduced in the next part and then are defined benchmarks with selected method of comparison. Platforms are theoretically and practically compared on following parts of this thesis. Conclusion contains results from both comparisons. Major benefit of this thesis is based on the practical comparison of both platforms on the example company MATASTAV and gathering of personal experiences and problems solved.
