This thesis consists of a commented translation of an excerpt from a ninth century C.E. letter by the celebrated Arabic translator Hunayn Ibn Ishaq. The epistle is addressed to one of his patrons, 'Ali ibn Yahya, and gives an account of the works of the Greek physician Galen as well as their translations. The thesis is divided into three parts. Natural Language Processing (NLP) research is still in its infancy in Africa. Most of languages in Africa have few or zero NLP resources available, of which Igbo is among those at zero state. In this study, we develop NLP resources to support NLP-based research in the Igbo language. The springboard is the development of a new part-of-speech (POS) tagset for Igbo (IgbTS) based on a slight adaptation of the EAGLES guideline as a result of language internal features not recognized in EAGLES. Sadr al-Din Qunavi (605/1207-673AH/1274 CE)--stepson and pupil of Ibn $ rm sp{c}$Arabi (d. 638 AH/1240 CE)--played a pivotal role in the development of Islamic intellectual history. His contributions in the medieval period helped alter the course of mystico-philosophical tradition, which was then flourishing from Asia Minor and Persia to the major learning centers of the Arabic-speaking world. Poku&scaron;ali smo, prema tome, da odgovorimo na pitanje da li je roman kao žanr nastao upravo kao jedina forma koja je mogla da izrazi to dvojstvo (s obzirom da u tom smislu prostor pripovetke, kao to svedoči većina istraživača, ipak nije bio dovoljan). Na ovaj način, pomalo zalazimo i u proučavanje književnosti onako kako to rade savremene književne teorije - kao poetiku kulture.
