Sponsorship, in advertising and marketing, has enjoyed considerable currency with managers, especially in the context of sporting events. However, this strategy option is constantly challenged by ambush marketing (which seeks an unofficial association with the event) as well as by a neither strategy (i.e. firms not undertaking either sponsorship or ambush marketing). At the core of all the three strategies is the expectation that a firm's association (official or unofficial) or non-association with a sporting event will result in certain benefits for the brand. We show that all observable implications of the theory are inconsistent with the data from the world mobile wireless industry. In this industry, the number of SEP holders grew from 2 in 1994 to 130 in 2013. Royalty stacking theory predicts falling or stagnant output, rising selling prices, and rising or stagnant quality-adjusted prices. AbstractThis study conducts a detailed investigation into the interplay between major sporting events, specifically the ICC Cricket World Cups and FIFA Football World Cups, and their potential impact on the relationship between dividend announcements and stock market returns. Beyond the customary exploration of investor sentiment and its connection to stock market returns, our research thoroughly examines the effects of these significant sports events on the stock market's reaction to dividend announcements. In this article, an Iterated Modified Tabu Search (IMTS) approach is presented by improving certain aspects of general Tabu Search to enhance the approximation of the Equitable coloring problem (ECP) problem for a real-world problem of scheduling the ICC Cricket World Cup tournament. The proposed IMTS introduces new point generation mechanisms and parameter updating rules to achieve this objective of tournament scheduling. The IMTS algorithm defines different k-ECP instances and utilizes the search process to determine the optimal solution for instance of k-ECP by estimating the minimum k-colo

The Pythagorean Win-Loss formula can be effectively used to estimate winning percentages for sporting events. This formula was initially developed by baseball statistician Bill James and later was extended by other researchers to sports such as football, basketball, and ice hockey. Although one can calculate actual winning percentages based on the outcomes of played games, that approach does not take into account the margin of victory. The key benefit of the Pythagorean formula is its utilization of actual average runs scored and actual average runs allowed. This article presents the applicati

Abstract We present a player rating system for One-Day International (ODI) cricket using the Modified Duckworth-Lewis (MDL) model. We used ball-by-ball data of 1764 uninterrupted ODI matches played from Jan-2004 to Jun-2021 to estimate model parameters. The proposed method is then used to rate players who appeared in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2019. The method is novel because the rating depends on the state of the match, so that pressure and non-pressure situations are accounted for. The method also considers a pitch effect (high or low run scoring). Moreover, batsman performance can be compared

Characterization of the genomic landscape of biliary tract cancer (BTC) may lead to applying genotype-matched therapy for patients with this disease. Evidence that comprehensive cancer genomic profiling (CGP) guides genotype-matched therapy to improve clinical outcomes is building. However, the significance of CGP in patients with BTC remains unclarified in clinical practice. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to assess the utility of CGP and identify associations between clinical outcomes and genomic alterations in patients with BTC.
