Gouyon, Marien. ""Ana loubia" : ruses et résistances dans l’exploration identitaire des homosexualités masculines à Casablanca." Paris, EHESS, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015EHES0660.
Full textMy PhD is dedicated to the issue of male homosexuality in the city of Casablanca. I carried out a three-year ethnographic field study, with forty-one men aged 16 to 30, from middle and working classes. Informed by the daily experiences of these men, this work enlightens how conceptual frameworks built by previous studies on homosexuality in European countries and the United States are irrelevant in the Moroccan context. In order to think anew the politization of homosexuality issue in Morocco, my approach coins a critique of globalizing discourse about homosexuality in Morocco through the analysis of singular paths. Without denying the hegemonic spread of sexual identities, I focus on the hybrid and changing dimension of (homo) sexual identities. At the crossroads between literature, virtual space and urban space, I propose therefore to understand, through the notion of agency, the individual and collective construction of homosexual identities as resulting from an arising consciousness concerning class, gender and "race" oppression. Such a stance reveals then the ways in which resistance and cunning structure the social construction of identities as well as social relationship

Full textIs the female body the most effective stand of oppression in a muslim country such as morocco? In a first part, called: "female body in the sexual strategies from islam, this thesis attempts to lighten all the question which concern the conflict between the individual and the group in a muslim society which is socially and economically evoluting. In a second part, "social mobility and new sexual identities: self asser tions or ambivalence", two main dimension from men and women's lives are examined, love life-affective and obstentations seduction. We are trying to see how women fulfill themselves in their love life in a muslim space which favours sexual discrimination? Is the love encounter between the different sexes a mean to spring up women's instrinsic worth, or, is the love encounter an incident which provokes doubt, distrust? The last chapter deals with seduction as a way to take the power in the affective field as a blackmail and in the social field as an ostentatious higher bid in social strategies

Full textThis thesis focuses on the study of concrete parctices linked to masculinities, in their expressions and meanings in Morocco, in particular in the city of Marrakech, my main fieldwork location. This essay is both a general reflection on the question of masculinities and an anthropological and ethnological work centered on a Mediterranean area, Morocco, which is very lightly affected by Anthropology of Gender Studies with regard to the issues. Because concrete achievment of masculinity can find fulfillment in practices and behaviors that could appear in total opposition to ideal masculinity, thus I considered a complex dimension of this phenomenon: homoerotic and homosexual practices. In fact, both for Moroccans and Europeans Marrakech is generally seen as a city longstanding bound to male homoeroticism and a place where sexual categories are blurred. Thereby, in this thesis male homoerotic practices and homosexual identities are considered as privileged contexts of analysis for the comprehension of the masculinity construction in his whole. For this purpose, the concept of hegemonic masculinity seemed to me a particular resourceful tool for the analysis of relationship between ideal representations of masculinity, and the construction of gender and sexual male identities. This is true especially in relation to the issue of social classes and their consequences on the development plural conceptions of masculinity and sexual male practices

Full textThe "Chemkara" thus are called street children in Morocco. These are odd children, different, they can disturb, and they live in this way: the street. They know an exile and a wandering at a time mental and physical. Marginalized, tramp, drug addicts and they are unique in their functioning because they are no longer enrolled in the family and social sphere. They fit in another traumatic and violent space that knows its own rules, disrupting the benchmarks and foundations not only psychological but also social and cultural. Who are these children? What was, in their individual and collective history, caused this passage to the street? How do they build themselves in this space? What are their relationships with the others and with the street? This research is built from questions and tries to account from life stories, collected from twelve boys living in the streets of Casablanca, suffering, trauma, wandering and paths of these children. The work of narration allows us a comprehensive approach to their mental functioning. We also questioned the process of filiation and affiliation, family relationships, survival strategies implemented, their drug addiction and the construction of a "street’s identity". Counter-transference Movements’ are also essential in our study, in which the clinician researcher is confronted with the Otherness of the other and its own one. Our research opens up a larger field of investigation, mixed field using psychoanalysis, ethnology, sociology… and complementary methodology and approach. It attempts to provide a clinical perspective concerning street children in Morocco

Full textPremarital sexuality in Morocco faces a triple illegitimacy (religious, legal and social). However, despite being forbidden by norms, it exists in Morocco. This study attempts to decode the ways of thought, living and verbalization of premarital sexuality in the country despite the restrictive normative framework. It aims to analyze it in its different aspects: representations, social and media discourse, verbalization, the normative framework, the socialized money making observed outside the traditional professionalization of sex framework, new trends linkedto technological changes and their impact on sexuality, sex education, the significance and impact of the first sexual intercourse, the influence of demographic and socio-economic dynamics on sexuality and finally sexual and emotional gender relations. Its main objective is to shed light on social realities that discourse and normative representations are trying to play down. The goal is not to legitimize socially rejected sexual practices, but to understand them
