The paper explores how identity influences altruistic behavior through an experimental approach. The study uses a new version of the dictator game to assess whether participants are more likely to donate when they share a similar identity with the recipients. The paper builds on existing literature, hypothesizing that individuals are more inclined to act altruistically towards those with whom they share an identity.
