Abstract:
Between ennoblement and depreciation. Ideological codes of senility in the ninenteenth century Czech literature the case of Karel Václav Rais Interpretations of senility change in time. Successive periods of culture create codes of its description and evaluation on their own. Czech literature which from the very beginning of the nineteenth century was connected with the communication of the ideological, social and political senses of the National Revival and which was treated as the most important instrument of projecting and implementing the great collective ideas, was also directed into including these ideas in all fields of life. The glorification of senility, either as the existential category or the synonym of experience and wisdom was for the first time demonstrated in Božena Němcová’s novel Babička. The high status of this masterpiece caused the many returns of the category of senility in Czech fiction. One of them is Karel Václav Rais prose Pantáta Bezoušek which initiates the discussion on the actual function of the old men/women in contemporary Czech society.

Abstract:
Abstract Aim The aim of the study is to analyze how the body is presented and described in two textbooks in physical education. The research questions are seeking to answer is: What representations of the body can be found in the textbooks? What ideals, actions and demands are linked to these representations? Which dilemmas appear in the different representations? Method Two textbooks written after the introduction of the latest Swedish curriculum Lgy 11 were methodologically processed with inspiration from Bacchi´s What´s the Problem-method and analyzedthrough Billig´s concept of Ideological dilemmas. Results The analysis showed six thematic representations of the body: The representation of the ´competing body´ was linked to ideals such as the desire to compete and actions such as of hard exercise. The representation of the ´healthy body´ was linked to ideals such as the joy of moving and actions such as of recreational exercise. The representation of the ´normal body´ was linked to ideals of being a boy and being satisfied with ones body in its present form, as well as heteronormative actions. The representation of the ´deviant body´ was linked to ideals such as the fear of obesity, being a tenuous girl and actions such as being homo,- bi-, trans-, or asexual. The representation of the ´body under development´ was linked to ideals of becoming and to being intentional and determined in it´s actions. The representations of the ´docile body´ was linked to feeling confident and the actions were focusing on the intrinsic value and pleasure of moving. Ideological dilemmas arose between the ´competing body and the ´healthy body´. The ´normal body´ and the ´deviant body´, the body under development body and the ´docile body´. Conclusions The findings suggest that the effects of the ideological dilemmas create risk to limit pupils to understanding themselves as either one or the other body. This study highlights the importance of teachers reflections about how they talk about the body can lead to limiting a diverse understanding of the body in PE.

Abstract:
The existing literature has long mused over the questions of who belongs and who does not belong to the extreme right party family, as well as why some extreme right parties seem to be consistently - or occasionally - more successful than others. For decades, scholars have failed to reach a consensus regarding the definition of the extreme right, used a plethora of labels to describe it, and disagreed on the defining characteristics of the party family. In order to progress from this conundrum, this thesis explores the question of whether and how the extreme right can be defined as a multi-dimensional party family based on two strategic-discursive dimensions, and the extent to which the location of each individual member of the extreme right family will affect the number and the nature of the voters whom they will attract. This question is answered - and resulting model tested - in Great Britain, Germany, and France. The thesis combines a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods including text analysis of party manifestoes, face-to-face interviews of extreme right party elites (in two countries), and analysis of survey data. Our model stipulates that extreme right parties emphasise different conceptions of an authoritarian dimension (ranging from a social/reactionary to an institutional/repressive pole) and a negative conception of identity (spanning from a civic/populist to a cultural/xenophobic scale). Based on this bi-dimensional conceptual map, four dominant sub-types of extreme right parties can be identified, all of which are represented in the three party systems, and evidenced by both party manifestoes and elites ' discourse. We also show that the different positions espoused by each party have an impact on the ideological identity of the party, intra-extreme right party competition, the types of voters each party attracts and ultimately, the level of electoral success it obtains.

Abstract:
This master’s thesis attends to a debate in the Swedish daily press concerning the public library which arose after the Swedish Moderate Party’s publication of their cultural political document Kulturen 2.0. This document contains a number of standpoints, of which three directly concern the public library: charges on book loans, libraries on contract and politically balanced purchase policy. In all, 28 articles are examined by means of an idea and ideological analysis. The purpose is to find out what is behind the conflicts surrounding attitudes about the public library's mission and activity in an era of needs for change. On the basis of Douglas Raber’s account of three ideological strategies - social, conservative and populist - that constitutes the theoretical framework, the ideologies behind the ideas that stand out in the debate are to be identified. Four main conclusions are deduced from twelve preliminary inferences: (A) the combination of the social and the conservative strategy by the critics in the debate; (B) the conflict between critics' position according to (A) and populist strategy by advocates of the Moderate Party’s suggestions; (C) and (D) treats intrinsic dilemmas in the Moderate Party’s idea systems, there social respectively conservative strategy stands against populist strategy. Dilemmas concern either inconsistencies between different levels or on a metaphysical level with their fundamental principles contradicting each other. Factors influencing the results are constituted of various contents ascribed to certain central concepts such as education, access and democracy. This associates the statement ”the public library as the cornerstone of democracy” with alternate meanings.

Abstract:

Using the social constructionist theoretical framework as a point of departure, the primary aim of the study is to explore the extent to which the meanings that children assign to &lsquo
childhood&rsquo
are ideologically configured. More specifically, using the concept of well-being as a hermeneutic key, the study examines how children use specific discursive resources and repertoires to assign meaning to &lsquo
childhood&rsquo
. The outcome of this on children&rsquo
s meaning assignation and constructions of childhood is characterized by a consensus/contestation dichotomy as ichildren appear to both accept and resist the ideology. This emerges at the intrapersonal level (within the consciousness of children), the interpersonal level (between children) and societal level (between children and adult society). The study concludes by advancing the notion that childhood should be conceived of as an ideological configured construction, and not merely as a discursive construction, functioning within various social contexts. Thus, the meanings of childhood, whether constructed by, or present in discourses, cannot be independent from the ideologically configured social, historical and material structures. It is believed that this theoretical maneuver will bring theories of childhood into better alignment with practical actions resulting in opportunities for intervention, services, monitoring and research initiatives, as well as policy development and implementation, aimed at improving child and youth wellness.

Abstract:

Abstract: A public service sector in constant reformation is a common phenomenon in Sweden. This also includes the municipal care organisations. A central role in those reformations has the public middle chief who often is the one to implemented reforms to the organiza-tion's staff.

This study is examining the role of the public middle manager in care organisations dur-ing the implementation of common ideologies value foundation in a present organisa-tion's reform. The study tries to elucidate in which way the public middle managers in municipal care organisations experience their roles, which expectations the management of the organisation has on their roles and how a present organisation changes inflict on the contents of the role. If the middle manager in a municipal care organisation feels like normative for the personal group is another aspect.

There are four concepts used as theoretic framework in the study, organization, imple-mentation and public middle managers in a general aspect and the middle manager in a municipal care organisation in a specific aspect. The study is a case study of the munici-pal Y care organisation. It also contains observations on the middle managers and their staff's interaction during implantation of common value foundation. The procedure of this analyse is built on an abductive interpretation of collected data.

In this study, it emerges that the administration of the organisation thinks a leadership from a competence perspective is important and that the leader should dare to lead. The organization's middle manager strives for a democratic leadership, which is the ground in a communication perspective. It is vague and difficult to define which the experiences of the common value foundation are by members of the organisations. Therefore, many municipal middle managers in the organisation feel that they have to interpret the value foundation on their own. However, they also experience a difference among their staff when they talk about their work during and after the implementation of common value foundation.

Abstract:
Abstract  Pedagogical documentation is a certain procedure for documenting that, in recent years, has been embraced in several Swedish preschools. Teachers document children’s actions and conversations usually by photos or video recordings. This documentation is to be used for a pedagogical purpose. However, studies and governmental inspections have shown that pedagogical documentation gives rise to many questions among preschool teachers. The purpose of this study is to gain insight into what is being expressed when preschool teachers discuss pedagogical documentation, focusing on themes of content and on the participants’ expressions of their points of view. The data is comprised of transcriptions from audio recordings of discussions conducted in a research circle. The participants are eight preschool teachers that met over the course of one year. Each meeting focused on the documentation provided by a different participant. In that way the contents of the discussions were framed by the teachers own questions and narratives. Theoretically, the study departs from Social Constructionism and Discursive Psychology. The preschool teachers’ utterances have been analyzed using concepts of interpretative repertoires and ideological dilemmas. The results show the main themes to be: Knowledge content in a preschool setting, children’s learning, the teacher’s role and implementation of pedagogical documentation. The participants’ joint position is that the knowledge content at the preschool level is defined by the curriculum for the preschool. Concerning children’s learning and the teacher’s role, two main standpoints are disclosed. Ideologically those standpoints derive from two opposing theories of education. Based on how the standpoints have been expressed I have called them ”predetermined learning” versus ”non-predetermined learning”. One main distinction between the standpoints is that predetermined learning emphasizes the results of learning, while non-predetermined learning emphasizes the processes of learning. The participants’ utterances show that teachers tend to subscribe to the idea that there is only one acceptable way of working with pedagogical documentation. This sometimes creates performance anxiety and feelings of not succeeding and has led to arguments advocating an alternate approach; pedagogical documentation can be done in many ways. The ideological dilemmas within the discourse can be perceived as resources by which the participants argue about knowledge, learning, teaching and about the implementation of pedagogical documentation.

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to concretize the concept of political ideology in the aspect of its matrix structure and in the context of the cognitive-evolutionary approach. Based on Michael Frieden's morphological approach to the analysis of ideological consciousness, the concept of cognitive-ideological matrices is introduced, which allows us to describe the process of transition from proto-ideological to ideological concepts proper, especially at the level of individual consciousness. The identification of the ideological concept as the main “gene” of conceptual variability and inheritance made it possible to describe the main parameters of the evolution of political ideologies and associate it with changes taking place at the individual consciousness level. The described concept was tested in a series of sociological studies of youth consciousness conducted in 2015-2016 and 2018-2020. As a result of the study, it was possible to first identify the “zero level” of ideology, at which the minds of young respondents are potentially open to the influence of diverse and often mutually exclusive ideological orientations, and second, to pinpoint the changes that have occurred in the cognitive ideological matrices of Rostov-on-Don students over the past five years. This study was conducted by scientists from the southern Federal University.

Abstract:
The subject of research refers to changes in the meaning of the lexeme democracy over the past 20 years, noticeable in texts from the Polish press of specific ideological profile. The authors of press texts often expand the meaning, saturating it with emotions and evaluating. On the basis of examples of using a word in texts, there have been definitional sentences created testifying to the extensions of meanings comparing to those found in the Polish language presented in dictionaries. The analysis demonstrates that the understanding of the word democracy depends on the political context and is subject to modifications resulting from ideological entanglements.

Abstract:
In this article we selectively review Cambodia’s history through the lens of Prolung Khmer (ព្រលឹងខ្មែរ, meaning “Khmer Spirit” or “Khmer Soul”), a complex, multivalent ideological discourse that links symbols and social practices, such as Angkor, Buddhism, Khmer language (written and spoken), and classical dance, in an essentialized Khmer identity. When Cambodians began arriving in the United States in 1975, they immediately and self-consciously deployed Prolung Khmer as a means for asserting a unique cultural identity within the larger society. Through diachronic and ethnographic analyses of Prolung Khmer, we gain a holistic understanding of how it serves as an ideological metaphor for Khmer culture.

Abstract:
The current political scene is undergoing visible and often incomprehensible changes for the average person. The rise of new political forces is a topical issue, especially in the context of an ideological reconfiguration. Even if it is possible to play in a vast history, where ideological directions can be given, a specialist can observe that in several ocasions the political parties go beyond their own ideological boundaries to attract more voters and retain power. There are a number of new political forces, built on the fight against corruption and the anti-system in several states of the European Union. They often do not have a clear ideology, consisting of a wide range of members who do not share the principles of a common ideology. Some emerged in response to the populist danger that seemed to grip the European Union ahead of the European Parliament elections on May 26, 2019. Is it a closed path or are we preparing for a new paradigm in shaping political ideologies? I will try to give an answer in this article by going on a case study in Romania, regarding the last configurations of political parties. Is there a need to have a clear ideology, doctrine or the voters need to have a simple set of principles to support?
