In this paper we will discuss about the development of IE4 level motor proposed by IEC, which is new target for international efficiencies. Efficiency classes IE1-IE4 are defined in international standard IEC 60034-30. The draft version of IEC 60034-31 defines the new class IE4. The IE-codes replaces the former voluntary Eff classification of electric motors as shown in Table 1. The Eff classes are based on a voluntary agreement between the EU and the CEMEP in 1998.Table 1 Minimum energy performance standards for electric motors.

Abstract:
This study explores the internal standards for hearing tests and benefits of implementing international standard protocols, including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and discusses how ISO and IEC standards provide a framework for designing, calibrating, assessing hearing test instruments and methods, and exchanging and comparing data globally. ISO and IEC standards for hearing tests improve accuracy, reliability, and consistency of test results by applying standardized methods and environments. Moreover, they promote

The high energy intensity of the modern industry and the threat of climate change determine the high urgency of increasing the energy efficiency of electric motors. In this paper, energy consumption, energy costs, payback periods, and CO2 emissions of 75 kW, 4 pole induction motors with direct grid supply in a fixed-speed pump unit are evaluated. Motors of the IE2, IE3, and IE4 efficiency classes according to IEC 60034-30-1 standard are compared in terms of life-time energy savings, payback period, and CO2 emissions. To carry out the analysis, polynomial interpolation of the data from the avai

AbstractDefence sector applications are often characterised by a high level of complexity: in the technical systems involved, in their management and supply chain arrangements, and in the dynamic nature of the risks involved. ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 is well established as a standard that provides a common set of life cycle processes and terminology for engineering complex systems. However, it takes a generic approach that does not directly address the needs of systems with a safety impact. In contrast, safety‐specific standards like IEC 61508 provide a well‐known framework for the functional safety

This study examines applicability of Normal Turbulence Model (NTM) in IEC 61400-1 for offshore conditions using wind records obtained at an offshore site. The model parameters for estimation of the standard deviation of longitudinal fluctuating velocity, σ1, in NTM are presented. The identified model parameters for the mean value of σ1 agree well with those of IEC Normal Turbulence Model, but parameters for the standard deviation of σ1 are found to be larger than those used in IEC. As a result, the standard deviation of σ1 obtained by IEC Normal Turbulence Model parameters is underestimated an

Abstract: The tonality is a notable factor during the development of wind farms. Tonality is a component of acoustic noise emission from the wind turbine which annoys the surrounding area of the wind farm. This paper focuses to evaluate the tonality of the wind turbine acoustic measurement data based on the standard IEC 61400-11 AMD 2018: ed. 3.1. The narrowband analysis of the wind turbine tonal noise component is fully evaluated as given in the standard. The identification of tone and classification of spectral lines is performed for all spectra of the specified wind speed bin. The results a
