The controls are forced by prescribed, observed sea surface temperatures (SSTs) and sea-ice extents, while in the perturbation simulations sea-ice is reduced and replaced with SSTs. M.A.<br>The post-apartheid period has seen growing literary interest in issues of gender and sexuality. This dissertation reads literature as a type of cultural history and engages critically with the discursive and epistemological role of fiction within a broader palimpsest of discourses, theories and nomenclatures relating to sexuality. It maps the limitations of existing epistemological hierarchies and argues for the recognition of fiction as an ephemeral and complementary archive of same-sex subjectivities. While fiction can construct and shift signifying regimes, it also engages with the

Abstract:
The El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) dominates global interannual climate variability. However, the imprint of anthropogenic climate change hinders understanding of natural ENSO variability. Model predictions of the response of future ENSO variability to anthropogenic forcing are highly uncertain. A better understanding of how ENSO operates during different mean climate states may improve predictions of its future behavior. This study develops a technique to quantify the response of tropical Pacific sea surface temperature and salinity to ENSO variations. This analysis defines expected reg

The history of relative sea-level rise along the northern Gulf of Mexico must be constrained in order to determine the relative effects of eustatic sea-level rise, subsidence, antecedent topography, and sediment supply variations on fluvial--bay-shoreline sedimentary systems. This study adds important additional sea-level indicators for the past 10 kyrs in addition to compiling the extensive pre-existing data from the literature. The northern Gulf of Mexico data from the modern shoreline is compared western and eastern Gulf of Mexico datasets to determine the relative difference in subsidence
