Full textVoronca geban in romania with elegiac post-symbolist verses but quickly joined the avant-garde, becoming one of its greatest theoreticians, inventing "pictopoetry" and advancing the cause of "integralism". In france, his poetry continued and deepened the humanistic leaps of his last romanian verse, and opened itself generously to the rest of mankind, announcing the coming of a better world. His main themes are nature, the city, solitude and fraternisation, love, and woman - trhough poems in which memory and dream hold an important place. His entire poetic activity may be seen as an attempt to escape from solitude

Full textOur thesis studies the landscape and the poetic image at Ilarie Voronca, Benjamin Fondane and Henri Michaux, by following the common thematic elements and the artistic specificities of those writers from the perspective of the comparative literature. The first part of our thesis, "Composition / decomposition of the self by the image" presents the distinctive features of the self (changeable, multiple) and its influence on the poetic images. The self is ambiguous and its discontinuity transmits to the text a tension which reaches its maximum when associated with the emptiness. The second part "The eternal and impossible voyage" concerns the numerous values of the movement which governs the constant change of the poetic landscape, the motivations of the choices related to the voyage and the evolution of the imagination according to this topic. We also study the relation voyage-life-text and some figures of representative travellers for the texts of the three authors - Plume, Robinson, Ulysses. The voyage is made in different regions of the real and the imaginary world, with temporary incursions into the memory and it appears in various forms, as the escape, the simple discovery or the adventure. The third part, “Ways of living, ways of looking at” approaches the problem of the image in a more theoretical way, with the analysis of several related terms and their impact on the texts. A fundamental relationship is the one established between the landscape and the space, at the physical and psychic levels. The glance becomes a creative agent of the literary text, functioning as an organ of perception and as a genuine aesthetic filter

Full textTristan Tzara, Benjamin Fondane and Ilarie Voronca are three Romanian poets belonging to the avant-garde of the first half of the 20th century. They all choose France as a place to live in and French as language of their work which they had started in Romania and in Romanian. This ‘route' from Bucharest to Paris, though willingly taken by these three poets, was still to remain an ‘exile' that left its imprints on their writing in French. This ‘route' thus becomes a recurrent image throughout their work revealing itself at various levels, starting with the casual to the complex aspects of the imaginary, including the emotional resonance and the existential questions. Thus for these poets the ‘route' as a recurrent image acquires a primordial meaning, which generates a whole network of motifs, of themes and of metaphysical and poetical questions that can be deciphered by means of the very key which seems to have become the ‘route' for these Romanian poets writing in French. In their poetical creation there are certain characteristic imaginary ‘patterns' revealed in verbal ‘patterns'. Thes ‘patterns' are regrouped around dynamic appeals which man may choose to acquiesce or to deny: the horizontal trajectory (walk, escape, roaming, departure, passage, flux, rush, progress), the circular movement (rotation, turn, search for the center or for the completeness of the circumference), the vertical ‘itinerary' (ascension, bounce, fall) and the temptation of coming to a slow-down or to a complete cessation of movement (sloth, sluggishness, feebleness, gauntness, rigidity, drowsiness). These verbal ‘patterns' are accompanied with a whole range of myths, symbols and archetypes liable to reveal the relationships between these poets and the basic meanings of the route, such as Ulysses, the errant Jew, the river, the tree, the fire, the search for home. Thus the ‘route' reveals itself as a primordial reality to Tristan Tzara, Benjamin Fondane and Ilarie Voronca, as it lies at their formation as both man and poets. Their writing in French therefore changes their completed journey into a metaphysical itinerary and a quest for poetry

In Electrical Engineering courses, it is important that students have hands-on experience with a circuit and components to witness their behavior and compare it with theoretical models. The MIT iLab Project develops online laboratories that allow students to perform experiments through a web browser from anywhere in the world. One such lab used in the Introduction to Circuits class, the NMOS Resistor Amplifier Lab, allows students to analyze the switching waveforms of a transistor. This thesis describes the integration of a thermal camera to the NMOS-Resistor Amplifier Lab to educate students about energy dissipation. The first version of this lab, built entirely in LabVIEW, on iLabs' existing Shared Architecture could not support an interactive lightweight client. In response, the Experimental Lab Server Architecture (ELSA) was developed as a new interface connecting an experiment, client, and Service Broker. In the first prototype of the Thermal Lab in ELSA, a Java Applet Client uses REST calls to send commands and acquire data from the LabVIEW experiment running on the server.

The Analysis of Ilan’s Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) Patients Abstract The study uses Ilan’s out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients as the research object to understand the variable backgrounds of OHCA patients how they are affected by first aid factors between the period of pre-hospital and post-hospital admission. The study also discusses whether there is a correlation between first aid factors and first aid prognosis among those OHCA patients during pre-hospital and post-hospital admission periods. The study is retrospective and based on the Utstein style format. It collects 284 out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patient cases with trauma and non-trauma (282 effective samples) in an example of a regional teaching hospital in Ilan from 2007 to 2009. It uses descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, and Chi-Square test as the statistical analysis to obtain the following conclusions: 1. There are 282 effective sample patients in the study. There are 57 patients ( 20.2 %) who were return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after cardiac arrest approximately 14.77 minutes on average. There are 33 patients (11.7 % ) who survived to be hospitalized for 15.36 days on average, and there are 6 patients ( 2.1 % ) who were discharged from the hospital. 2. Internal medicine disease is the major causative factor of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Among those internal medicine disease cases, the history showed hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and heart diseases are the main causes of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Patients who are older than 65 years old are the main age groups, accounting for 67.7% of these cases. 3. The pre-hospital admission factors which affect the prognosis after the Emergency Department (ED) are the place of the accident, whether there are witnesses, scene process time , total reaction time , whether automatic external defibrillation was used, and whether people at the scene used CPR. 4. The post-hospital admission factors which affect the prognosis after the ED are initial cardiac rhythm, body temperature, pupil size , dose of epinephrine, whether defibrillation was used, the time of applying emergency first-aid, and medical expense. 5. The percentages of return of spontaneous circulation and survival rates in the study are lower than those of past studies of Taipei City and National Taiwan University Hospital. The possible factors are probably related to differences between rural and urban areas in the quality of emergency medical service systems (EMSS), and healthcare training. 6. From now on, in addition to improving the first-aid continuous monitoring system, we should also enhance EMT related training, and actively educate people to understand and learn CPR, so that comprehensive first-aid systems are available everywhere to effectively increase the success rate of first-aid.
