Middle Oxfordian-early Kimmeridgian radiolaria, extracted from the top of radiolarites of Profitis Ilias unit (Rhodes island), suggest that the latter are essentially Middle Jurassic in age and the overlying siliceous shales Late Jurassic. The previously identified Calpionellid horizon at the top of Profitis Ilias siliceous marls is now regarded as early Valanginian in age. The above chronostratigraphic constraints allow tentative correlations to be made between Profitis Ilias and Pindos-Olonos sedimentary units. Finally, the palaeoceanographic significance of the studied series in Rhodes and potentially similar pelagic sequences in the Marmaris area of Turkey are discussed.

Abstract:
The use of e-learning in the learning process at Amikom Purwokerto University has been implemented since early 2019 by utilizing the ILIAS e-learning platform. The problem that arises is whether students are satisfied and intend to continue using the ILIAS platform for the online learning process during the pandemic period and afterwards where there are still many obstacles experienced by students during online lectures. This study aims to assess the behavioral intention of Amikom Purwokerto University students to use ILIAS as an online learning platform by adopting the UTAUT2 (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2) model. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it shows that each variable has a significant effect and has a significant impact on the use of ILIAS, this is evidenced by each hypothesis being accepted with a t-value> 1.96. Based on the t-value, the variable Performance Expectancy, Facilitating Condition and Habit is the variable with the highest t-value among the other variables, namely (PE -> BI = 16.8709), (FC -> UB = 13.4742) and (HB - > UB = 12.6896). This shows that these three variables have a high significant influence and impact on the use of ILIAS. In further research, it may be possible to consider the use of moderating variables such as age, gender, experience, and so on or add other variables such as Security and Information Quality.

Abstract:
Abstract The character of Paris in the Ilias Latina maintains the ambiguity that characterises him in the Greek Iliad, where he does not lack military attitudes, but chafes against his duties to his country, being committed instead to satisfying his taste for luxury. This ambiguity is even reinforced in the epitome. The ‘heroic’ aspect of Paris’ personality emerges in a clearer light, expressed in a more mature awareness of his obligations to his family and country, but the other aspect, his indolence, is also accentuated: the character becomes a true elegiac lover, immersed in the experience of an exalted passion that partly distinguishes him from the cliché of the libertine of the Homeric tradition. It might therefore seem legitimate to interpret the Paris of the Ilias Latina in a more positive key than the Homeric character. However, this exegesis is opposed by the judgement expressed by the authorial voice at many significant points of the story: by his dissolute and unscrupulous behaviour, Paris has started a war that will lead to the ruin of his country; he himself is thus his own funesta ruina (234), the funesta ... flamma (253) that will burn down Troy and his own fate.

Abstract:
In recent years increased attention had been focused on the miniature epic known as the ‘Latin Iliad’. Close investigation of its relationship to Virgil’s epic ‘Aeneid’ and to the lyric poetry of Horace will illustrate that the author of the Ilias Latina composed a work reflective of the Neronian Age concern with the relationship between Rome and Troy, and with the problem of showing clemency to a defeated enemy. The second of these topics is of particular relevance in light of Seneca and his De Ira and De Clementia.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Probabilistic Corrosion Growth Rate (PCGR) models are typically studied on one or two Inline Inspections (ILIs) of a small sample size and use evaluation metrics that are operator specific. This comprehensive empirical assessment aims to expand the evaluation of PCGR models by examining anomalies that had distinct Box-to-Box (B2B) matches in four successive ILIs, resulting in 57,678 individual external corrosion anomalies from twelve pipelines of differing products, vintages, coatings, material specifications, and operating environments. This paper evaluates several PCGR models which are a combination of well-known industry models and simulation-based regression techniques. These models were evaluated using a historical train-test split on each studied anomaly set, where three prior ILIs were used to simulate the depth of each anomaly projected to the year of the fourth ILI. The simulated depths were compared to the measured depths of the final ILI. Statistical metrics and graphical techniques were used to measure a model’s predictive ability to effectively simulate the mean depth and uncertainty. The models presented in this paper are starting points for oil and gas transmission pipeline operators with ILI data to model corrosion growth with time. This work provides empirical guidance on how to use multiple corrosion ILI B2B matches to predict corrosion depth growth.

Abstract:
Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, many changes can be observed in almost all life situations, perhaps most notably, in the educational sector. In this context, concepts of learning counselling must be given more attention. This research contribution examines the question of how collaborative online tools to support the teaching-learning processes in higher education and vocational schools can be utilized. The aim is to improve the existing learning environment. For this purpose, the frequency of the usage of tools such as tests and forums on an open-source online learning platform ILIAS™ was analysed and discussed. In addition, the Adobe Connect™ web meeting software to be used in online teaching scenarios was also included in our investigation to explore the exchange of participants via discussion forums or virtual classrooms. The research team carried out an online sampling survey of ILIAS™ users at one university and five vocational schools in Germany in June 2020. The survey included these measures: Single answers, multiple answers, questions of scale, and free text questions. The response rate at the university was 25.10 % and at the vocational schools 17.2%. The data were evaluated with the help of descriptive statistics to determine frequency distributions and mean value calculations. This contribution will lead to a discussion regarding the continued disclosure of the learning potentials about a useful combination of both tools ILIAS™ and Adobe Connect™. The results shown suggest that the development towards virtual teaching scenarios, which has become a necessity under the forced conditions of the lockdowns, has a tremendous effect on teaching and learning processes in terms of didactics tailored to different target groups and needs in and outside the classroom. Hakeem, Luqman, and Riaz Hussain. Key Considerations: Localisation of Polio Vaccination Efforts in the Newly Merged Districts (Tribal Areas) of Pakistan. SSHAP, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/sshap.2022.035.

Full text
Abstract:
Poliomyelitis (polio) remains a vital global public health challenge, particularly in countries where eradication efforts are ongoing. For almost three decades, polio programme and frontline workers in Pakistan have suffered human and financial losses due to complex political and bureaucratic management, local resistance to programme efforts, and the context of cross-border insurgency and insecurity.1 Many stakeholders in Pakistan continue to have low confidence in frontline workers and polio vaccination campaigns. In this environment, it is essential that vaccination programmes localise – by taking careful account of the local context, improving local ownership of the programmes, understanding and mitigating the issues at a grassroots level, and tailoring efforts to achieve polio eradication goals. This brief draws on evidence from academic and grey literature, data on polio vaccine uptake, consultations with partners working on polio eradication in Pakistan, and the authors’ own programme implementation experience in the country. The brief reviews the social, cultural, and contextual considerations relevant to increasing polio vaccine uptake amongst vulnerable groups in Pakistan’s tribal areas. It focuses on the current country context, in the aftermath of the 2018 merger of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (KPK). This brief is part of a series authored by participants from the SSHAP Fellowship, and was written by Luqman Hakeem and Riaz Hussain from Cohort 2. Contributions were provided by response partners in Pakistan including health communication and delivery staff and local administrative authorities. This brief was reviewed by Muhammad Sufyan (University of Swabi) and Ilyas Sharif (Quaid-e-Azam College of Commerce, University of Peshawar). The brief was supported by Megan Schmidt-Sane and Santiago Ripoll at the Institute of Development Studies and is the responsibility of SSHAP.

(Batschauer, 1999; Quail, 2002) One paradigm emerging from this work is the interconnectedness of discrete physiological responses at the biochemical level, for instance, between auxin and light signaling (Colon-Carmona et al., 2000; Schwechheimer and Deng, 2001; Tian and Reed, 1999) and between light signaling and plant pathogen interactions (Azevedo et al., 2002; Liu et al., 2002). The COP9 signalosome (CSN) protein complex has a central role in the light control of plant development. Arabidopsis mutants that lack this complex develop photomorphogenically even in the absence of light signals (reviewed in (Karniol and Chamovitz, 2000; Schwechheimer and Deng, 2001). Thus the CSN was hypothesized to be a master repressor of photomorphogenesis in darkness, and light acts to bypass or eliminate this repression. However, the CSN regulates more than just photomorphogenesis as all mutants lacking this complex die near the end of seedling development. Moreover, an essentially identical complex was subsequently discovered in animals and yeast, organisms whose development is not light responsive, exemplifying how plant science can lead the way to exciting discoveries in biomedical model species (Chamovitz and Deng, 1995; Freilich et al., 1999; Maytal-Kivity et al., 2002; Mundt et al., 1999; Seeger et al., 1998; Wei et al., 1998). Our long-term objective is to determine mechanistically how the CSN controls plant development. We previously that this complex contains eight subunits (Karniol et al., 1998; Serino et al., 1999) and that the 27 ilia subunit is encoded by the FUS5/CSN7 locus (Karniol et al., 1999). The CSN7 subunit also has a role extraneous to the COP9 signalosome, and differential kinase activity has been implicated in regulating CSN7 and the COP9 signalosome (Karniol et al., 1999). In the present research, we further analyzed CSN7, both in terms of interacting proteins and in terms of kinases that act on CSN7. Furthermore we completed our analysis of the CSN in Arabidopsis by analyzing the remaining subunits. Outline of Original Objectives and Subsequent Modifications The general goal of the proposed research was to study the CSN7 (FUS5) subunit of the COP9 signalosome. To this end we specifically intended to: 1. Identify the residues of CSN7 that are phosphorylated. 2. Monitor the phosphorylation of CSN7 under different environmental conditions and under different genetic backgrounds. 3. Generate transgenic plants with altered CSN7 phosphorylation sites. 4. Purify CSN7 kinase from cauliflower. 5. Clone the Arabidopsis cDNA encoding CSN7 kinase 6. Isolate and characterize additional CSN7 interacting proteins. 7. Characterize the interaction of CSN7 and the COP9 signalosome with the HY5-COP1 transcriptional complex. Throughout the course of the research, emphasis shifted from studying CSN7 phosphorylation (Goals 1-3), to studying the CSN7 kinase (Goal 4 and 5), an in depth analysis of CSN7 interactions (Goal 6), and the study of additional CSN subunits. Goal 7 was also abandoned as no data was found to support this interaction.
