Abstract:
With the advent of the MPEG-4 Visual and H.264 compression standards, the role of the MPEG-2 compression standard has not diminished at the present time, since these standards are largely compatible, especially for information highways. Today, in a number of countries, the MPEG-2 compression standard is actually the main one for broadcasting, the functioning of which is based on the operation of DVB-T terrestrial digital television systems. Due to the fact that the majority of the currently used STBs support the MPEG-2 standard, it will remain widespread for at least the next few years. The ITU-T H.264 /MPEG-4 Part 10 AVC standard (abbreviated as H.264/AVC) is a promising new technology for encoding and compressing audiovisual information. The compression efficiency of the H.264/AVC standard is higher than the MPEG-2 standard with equal visual perception. The H.264/AVC standard was developed independent of the transport layer of the transmission systems used. Therefore, information delivery in the H.264/AVC standard can be carried out using any existing transmission and broadcasting systems, including: systems with IP protocols (including streaming delivery), transport streams of broadcasting systems in the MPEG-2 standard, as well as specific formats H.264 / AVC files for storage and processing on servers.

Abstract:
Introduction. Research on live broadcasting television and interactive projects is an important contribution not only to the history and theory of social communications, but also a promising field for further research of this type of broadcasting that can be also applied to the investigation of the Internet. Generalization and distinguishing features of this type of broadcasting are less common in the scientific community. During the research the following methods were used: historical and historical-comparative to analyze and organize data concerning ways of live broadcasting and interactive programs formation; systematization, classification, and clustering methods were used to get generalizations. A comparative method was implemented to distinguish common and diverse features of different types of broadcasting which are used in broadcast journalism. The content analysis method was applied for the organization of data concerning the development of programs, which use the interaction with the viewer as a certain communicative technology. The purpose of our study is to formulate a certain concept of genre features that are typical for interactive and live television broadcasting. We set out the following tasks: to distinguish the features of interactive and live broadcasting; outline their particularities in the different types of broadcasting and offer promising directions for using that type of broadcasting. This allowed us to distinguish the difference between live and interactive broadcasting, to focus on time and duration of interaction, to trace the use of different genres in these types of programs, to distinguish their specific features, to generalize and classify them, to identify promising directions of research. Results and conclusions. Live interactive television is characterized by a genre-themed variety. Language-communication and an improvisational script are mainly used in live broadcasting that motivates the audience to engage, provides lasting interest, trust, and positive changes in the image of the channel. News uses live broadcasting as the main way of organization of information (using «live» or stream of momentous events broadcasting), the use of interactivity in this type of broadcasting is indirect and is more oriented to further communication using individual touchpoints. Analytical programs are represented by various conversations in-studio and telemarathon. Viewer interaction is limited to the «viewer as one of the audience» type. Entertainment broadcasting is presented in such formats as Life-Show, Reality-Show (one of its varieties is Talent-Show), and Intelligence-Show, where interaction with the viewer is one of the formative factors. We see the benefits of this type of television among other forms of broadcasting in economic, dramatic, ideological, and communication aspects. Keywords: interactive television, communication, media audience, live television, television content.

Abstract:
Since of Donald Trump was elected President of the US, American journalism in general and TV journalists in particular has been going through transformations in genres, topics, variety of linguistic means and general content strategy. The article is an attempt to determine the most significant changes in the news broadcast. Using the information content of CNN as the main detractor of Trump’s media policy, the author analyzes and describes the new trends in the broadcasting policy. These include a significant reduction in the number of news items per news bulletin, attractivation of panel discussions, dominance of political topics and Donald Trump himself as the main news maker, negative evaluation in the frontmen’s language, journalists’ switch-over from observing to criticizing and assessing, changes in the president’s image and in the concept of D. Trump in American mass media, and the emergence and development of a new “White House chaos” concept. The article shows the dynamics in the main CNN’s structural indicators, such as genres ratio, thematic preferences, linguistic components, over the past five years. The author infers that the adversarial relationship between the president and TV journalists results in overall decreased taping content quality and lower professional standards for frontment and news channel correspondents. In this relation, lack of objectivity, biased discussions and prevalence of negative evaluation are of particular concern. The research was carried out in the second half of 2018, a case study of CNN newscasts of 2017 and 2018.

Abstract:
Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) is a state television. Since its establishment on August 24, 1962, TVRI has indeed experienced various phases in its life. Through Law No.32 of 2002 concerning Broadcasting, TVRI was established as a Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP). LPP is a broadcasting institution in the form of a legal entity established by the state, independent, neutral, non-commercial and functions to provide services for the benefit of the community. At present, TVRI has changed its Director since March 2018 namely Helmi Yahya, known as the King of Quiz. With the new Managing Director, TVRI began many enthusiasts who watched with new faces and more interesting programs. This research uses a qualitative research method, and is descriptive in nature which will later explain the marketing strategy of TVRI which has begun to attract the public and an increase in rating and audience share. This study uses interview techniques and data collection from social media and the internet as well as journals, books as primary and secondary data. The marketing strategy undertaken by TVRI includes five rebranding media including channel branding packages, promo on air, news packages, social media, and off air promotions. Of all the rebranding media, the most effective media is social media because aside from being a new media or digital marketing, it can reach all people, both TVRI viewers and private TV viewers

Abstract:
The image-building of the political system through the public broadcasting corporation BRTn is analysed on the base of a content analysis of the political information in the television news during the period 1982-1991. The study shows that political coverage in the public television news is subject to actualisation, fragmentation, personifying, dramatisation and the introduction of entertainment-techniques. Political items are transferred to the back of the newsbroadcast and there is less room for interpretation of the facts. Journalists point out that the attention for politics has diminished because the audience is less interested. However it is very likely that this is the result of the fact that the audience is uniformed because of the lack of information. In that way we enter a vicious circle that can only be broken through the media themselves. In order to achieve this, television shoud bring more interpretation and explanation of the facts. A parliamentary feature, incorporated in a current alfairs programme could attribute to this, but can do no miracles when commercial tendencies become stronger in the news itself.

Abstract:
Television data collection and return technologies are one of key technologies in television secure broadcasting system, TV video content surveillance, TV program copyright protection, and client advertisement broadcasting. In china, the dominating methods of TV video content surveillance are manual tape recording and whole TV program Automatic Return. Manual method costs too much, whole TV program return method needs lots of net bandwidth and storage space. This paper proposes a new method of television data collection and return technology, video field is extracted from continuous video and coded at frequency of about one field per second, in other words, one field is extracted from continuous fifty fields of original video for PAL TV system, extracted frame can be coded by all means, for example JPEG2000, or intra mode code of H.264 or MPEG2. TV programs whose content and topic change most frequently are news and advertisement program, which may change topic in five to ten seconds, so extracted sequences hold the same topic and content and enough information with original video for TV program content surveillance application. The data quantity of extracted sequence is about 3 percent of the original video program, which will save large quantity of network bandwidth and storage space. One hardware implementation method of this technology based on embedded system is proposed, the TV Field Extractor, which circularly extracts images from target TV program, uses high-performance compression algorithm for image compression and stores the final output sequences of stationary images on the hard disk, or transmits these sequences to the monitoring center via network. This method evidently reduces device cost, network bandwidth and storage space, which can be widely adopted in TV program content surveillance and TV secure broadcasting system.

<p>The singular value decomposition (SVD) plays a very important role in the field of image processing for applications such as feature extraction, image compression, etc. The main objective is to enhance the resolution of the image based on Singular Value Decomposition. The original image and the subsequent sub-pixel shifted image, subjected to image registration is transferred to SVD domain. An enhanced method of choosing the singular values from the SVD domain images to reconstruct a high resolution image using fusion techniques is proposesed. This technique is called as enhanced SVD based fusion. Significant improvement in the performance is observed by applying enhanced SVD method preceding the various interpolation methods which are incorporated. The technique has high advantage and computationally fast which is most needed for satellite imaging, high definition television broadcasting, medical imaging diagnosis, military surveillance, remote sensing etc.</p>

Compressed images are used very frequently in interactive applications in digital video broadcasting. New methods increasing efficiency of the image transmission in digital video broadcasting networks are proposed. Adaptive spatial filtering methods have been proposed for enhancement of the visual perception of the compressed images. New optimalization method is based on application of the filtering algorithms on more compressed images (data size are reduced). Visual quality enhancement is processed in interactive application. Further, new compression methods JPEG2000 and H.264 for image compression have been analysed. Novel compound image compression method for standard and high spatial television resolution is proposed in the thesis.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The present research study investigated the perceived credibility of television news in relationship to the acquisition of knowledge of digital video compositing techniques. An experiment was carried out to verify if acquiring knowledge of digital video post-production techniques affected the perceived credibility of television news. Instrumentation for the experiment included a video stimulus produced with a readily available digital video compositing software package as well as an online post-test questionnaire. A scale for perceived credibility of television news was constructed based on a frequently used operationalization of the concept of credibility. Findings showed that after subjects acquired knowledge of digital video post production techniques, their perception of television news credibility was less than subjects who did not acquire knowledge of digital video post production techniques. Also, the amount of education a subject possessed played a significant role in how he or she perceived the credibility of television news. Frequency of television news consumption, familiarity with digital imaging software tools, and academic background were also examined in relationship to perceived credibility of television news. Implications are explained for improving media literacy education, protecting television news credibility, and designing media effects experiments.

Abstract:
We live in a time that is fundamentally affected by the media. We consume media content every day, essentially every hour and every minute of our lives. The way in which media depicts certain social groups, nations and identities significantly affects our perception of them. It has been proven that the longer we are exposed to these distorted images, the more likely we are to trust them. This thesis thus focuses on the media image of Mexico in Czech Television broadcasting. In a qualitative and quantitative content analysis, we can see that most of the broadcasted messages are negative and often refer to migration, Donald Trump's policy or natural disasters. Furthermore, given that Mexico is geographically and culturally distant from the Czech environment, the only news that makes its way into broadcasting is usually highly negative or is dependent on another elite, such as the United States. When Czech viewers are exposed to said broadcasts on a regular basis, they may get the biased impression that Mexico is a dangerous, underdeveloped country. However, it is worth noting the extent of positive information which is oftentimes being excluded, resulting in the aforementioned distorted views and opinions being formed.
