Im Artikel wird der Beitrag von Anna-Halja Horbatsch zum Image der ukrainischen Literatur in Deutschland thematisiert. Zum einen wird Horbatsch als eine engagierte Kulturmittlerin und Literaturwissenschaftlerin, die produktivste ukrainisch-deutsche Übersetzerin der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts dargestellt, die sich um ein Ukraine-Bild in Westdeutschland bemühte. Zum anderen wird die Frage aufgedeckt, wie ihre Tätigkeit aufgenommen und wie die ukrainische Literatur in Deutschland rezipiert wurde.
