A ocupação do Imbé efetivada em 3 de abril de 1963 acabou inesperadamente se tornando um marco na luta pela terra. Ela foi uma das primeiras ações de ocupação de terras, pois na data referida um grupo de lavradores ocupou a localidade chamada Segundo Norte do Imbé, no município de Campos. Uma das principais fontes para o estudo de tal ocupação, além dos jornais de época e relatórios policiais, foi o conjunto de memórias do militante comunista José Pureza, que teve participação destacada nesse evento. Foram determinados os principais parâmetros morfodinâmicos da praia de Imbé, através da execução de nove perfis praiais entre 18/05/89 e 21/04/90. Os dados foram coletados visualmente e com apoio de instrumental oceanográfico, e em cada perfil foram definidas as características do tamanho (Mz) e volume de sedimentos, declividade do perfil praial (m), velocidade e direção dos ventos e das correntes litorâneas, altura da onda (Hb) e profundidade (db) na linha de rebentação, bem como o período (T) e ângulo de incidência da onda (α), “surf scaling parameter” (€) e o coeficiente de rebentação (βb).

The cited marine algae were obteined from the substrate, by scraping method, during the years of 1983 and 1984. Sporadical collecting was effected also throughout 1985, 1986 and 1988.

Metacercárias livres de uma espécie não determinada de trematódeo digenético (Diplostomidae) foram encontradas nos rins de anuros da espécie Rhinella fernandezae coletados no Município de Imbé, Litoral Norte do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Em uma amostra de 90 anuros, as metacercárias apresentaram prevalência de 3,3% e intensidade de infecção de 8,7 helmintos/hospedeiro. Este é o primeiro registro de metacercárias livres de diplostomídeos em anuros da região Sul do Brasil e do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

Os anuros são os anfíbios mais conhecidos no mundo, com aproximadamente 5.067 espécies identificadas. O Brasil abriga a maior riqueza de anuros do planeta. Os sapinhosde- jardim, Rhinella fernandezae, são incluídos na família Bufonidae, para qual tem aumentado anualmente o número de espécies conhecidas. Para o Rio Grande do Sul existem registros de 17 espécies de anuros bufonídeos. Mesmo o Brasil abrigando a maior riqueza de anuros, estudos sobre a helmintofauna destes ainda são escassos. Aerothermnal design capability for cooled high pressure turbines depends on resolving complex physical processes such as coolant mixing, coupled fluid-solid convection-conduction heat transfer, and their interactions.
