Abstract:
Bioautography is a mean of targeted-directed isolation of active molecules on chromatogram. Bioautography is technique to detect substances affecting the growth rates to test organisms in complex mixtures and matrices. The antimicrobial, antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities can be performed on TLC bioautography. Bioautography methods are divided into three categories. 1)Agar diffusion or contact bioautography 2) Immersion or agar-overlay bioautography 3) Direct bioautography. Background: Diffused otitis externa is an external ear infection in the form of ear pain and swelling of the ear canal with or without ear fluid. The most common bacteria that cause this infection are Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Research using natural ingredients to treat infectious diseases has been done a lot. The binahong plant (Anredera cordifolia) is one of the interesting natural ingredients to study because of its potential as an antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity and active compounds of the ethanol extract of binahong leaves (An

In Brazil, Rhipicephalus sanguineus resistance to some pyrethroids have been detected, motivating research on new phyto-insecticides such as essential oil from Tetradenia riparia leaves (EOL) and flower buds (EOFB). The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation (3h) and identified by GC/MS. In addition, a multivariate exploratory analysis was done to determine the analysis of the major compounds (PCA). The bioassays on R. sanguineus larvae were done by immersion test at different EO concentrations which ranged from 50,000 to 0.47 mg/mL (v/v). The action mechanism of EOs were determined

Bidara (Ziziphus spina-christi L.) is a tropical tree originating from Sudan in which it is commonly known as "Nebeq" in Saudi Arabia. It is of a bioactive compound - a flavonoid compound, which is the potential to be used as an antioxidant. It is capable of inhibiting any cell damages caused by free radicals. This study aimed to measure the activities of the free radicals in methanol extracts of Z. spina-christi leaves. The process of extracting the Z. spina-christi leaves was carried out through the maceration method using methanol as a solvent. The qualitative analysis of chemical compounds

ABSTRACT: Brazil has one of the largest commercial cattle herds in the world, which naturally coexist with an enormous number of parasitic species. Southern cattle tick, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, is among these species, interfering with animal productivity and causing losses to the beef and dairy cattle sector. The use of chemical acaricides in the control of this mite has resulted in the emergence of resistant populations. In this sense, alternative control measures using plants as sources of botanical acaricides have shown to be effective. Eugenia pyriformis Cambess is a Brazilian
