Although many Chinese cities have made remarkable progress in promoting age-friendly housings, few empirical studies related to the premium price of housings with additional elevators installed have been reported. In this study, we constructed propensity score matching–hedonic price models as well as quantile–hedonic models to assess the impact of adding elevators on housing prices. This study concludes: (1) The impact of additional elevators on housing prices varies depending on the floor level. (2) Single-facing and older housings are more likely to be negatively affected by the addition of

In Korea, there is a big difference in the rise and fall of apartment prices by region, so it is expected that there will be differences in regional economic indexes. So, to capture the housing market conditions, we developed the housing cycle by using the factor-augmented vector autoregressive model (FAVAR). In addition, we estimated the impacts of the Korean government’s housing policies on the housing cycle. This paper presents the findings of an evaluation of Chile's Progressive Housing Program (PHP), which is a public housing program that finances the purchase of a new house for lower income households. The evaluation finds that the programs' package (savings requirement, voucher and mortgage) design is inappropriate if the program is targeted to the poor. In fact the pro-poor targeting of the program was poor with high under-coverage and high leakage. Furthermore, the benefit of a minimum quality new house was not sustainable as many households slipped back into the housing shortage category ov

Using the 2003 and 2008 Quality of Life Surveys (QLS) conducted by the National Department of Statistics (DANE), this paper identifies the factors that affect housing tenure decisions in Colombia. Households with higher incomes are more likely to purchase than to rent, and the choice of formal housing is positively associated with wealth. Households eligible for social housing subsidies are more likely to purchase than to rent, and those working in the informal sector are more likely to purchase informal dwellings. Subsidies and access to mortgage credit have a large positive impact on demand.
