Abstract:
Lean construction is as an effective management tool to enhance the productivity in construction field. Large research is being done in recent past and is an on-going process to adopt lean principles from manufacturing industry to the construction industry. In order to improve the efficiency, reduction of waste, the lean construction has been introduced as new management tool. There are many challenges in implementing the lean concept in construction industry in India. Due to lack of attention and illiteracy towards the lean management principle, stake holders associated to this like builder, contractor, and engineering and project management firms etc. are still in process of adopting this principle for construction project. In this project report efforts are made to find out main barriers towards the implementation of lean techniques in Indian construction industry with the help of questionnaire survey and actual site implementations are made to develop a process map for on-going projects. Results of the survey showed that some of the lean techniques should be given more focus to enhance the process. The framework results show that the NVA (Non Value Added) and ENVA (Essential Non Value Added) activities have the highest impact on the project duration. Therefore with implementation of the proposed lean techniques, the NVA and ENVA activities have found to be improved and their durations can be reduced considerably.

Abstract:
Children with learning disabilities are a children's physiological or biological condition in which the competence or achievement is not according to predetermined standard criteria—learning disabilities in the form of errors in reading called dyslexia. Children with specific learning difficulties dyslexia experience difficulties in academic aspects; therefore, it is necessary to carry out an academic assessment and material for tutors to improve dyslexia reading skills. The multisensory technique is alternatives that used as reference material for tutors to improve dyslexia reading skills. Multisensory Techniques that can be used include 1) Reading and Spelling Training; 2) Visual Technique; 3) Auditory Technique, and 4) Tactile Technique. The reading and spelling focus on maintaining relationships between sounds and symbols starts with a single letter and continues with consonant combinations, vowel continuation, and complex letter groupings. The Visual Technique can start by using a picture card with the word written on the bottom (flashcard). Auditory technique for children who have difficulty with sound problems, teach a pair of short words and ask the child to say which word is correct. In addition, children with dyslexia will have the best learning by touch, so it is essential to incorporate this learning style into the instruction as a tactile technique.

Abstract:
Many geometric algorithms that are usually formulated for points and segments generalize easily to inputs also containing rays and lines. The sweep algorithm for segment intersection is a prototypical example. Implementations of such algorithms do, in general, not extend easily. For example, segment endpoints cause events in sweep line algorithms, but lines have no endpoints. We describe a general technique, which we call infimaximal frames, for extending implementations to inputs also containing rays and lines. The technique can also be used to extend implementations of planar subdivisions to subdivisions with many unbounded faces. We have used the technique successfully in generalizing a sweep algorithm designed for segments to rays and lines and also in an implementation of planar Nef polyhedra.14,1 Our implementation is based on concepts of generic programming in C++ and the geometric data types provided by the C++ Computational Geometry Algorithms Library (CGAL).

Abstract:
The design and implementation of a high-speed direct digital frequency synthesizer are presented. A modified Brent-Kung parallel adder is combined with pipelining technique to improve the speed of the system. A gated clock technique is proposed to reduce the number of registers in the phase accumulator design. The quarter wave symmetry technique is used to store only one quarter of the sine wave. The ROM lookup table (LUT) is partitioned into three 4-bit sub-ROMs based on angular decomposition technique and trigonometric identity. Exploiting the advantages of sine-cosine symmetrical attributes together with XOR logic gates, one sub-ROM block can be removed from the design. These techniques, compressed the ROM into 368 bits. The ROM compressed ratio is 534.2 : 1, with only two adders, two multipliers, and XOR-gates with high frequency resolution of 0.029 Hz. These techniques make the direct digital frequency synthesizer an attractive candidate for wireless communication applications.

Abstract:
A Built-ln Concurrent Self-Test (BICST) technique for testing combinational logic circuits concurrently with their normal operation is proposed. Concept of sharing the test hardware between identical circuits to reduce the overall area overhead is introduced. The method was implemented in the design of an ALU with on-line test capability in CMOS technology. The additional hardware used for a 12-bit ALU was 19% of the total chip area and it did not impose any timing overhead on the operation of the ALU. The overhead decreases with an increase in the size of the ALU.Following the description of the BICST technique, measures for evaluating the performance of the BICST technique are defined. Methods for the computation of the performance measures using analytical and simulation techniques are discussed and results of these methods are reported. Methods for detecting intermittent faults and for computing the transient fault coverage using BICST are also described. The impact of BICST on the system diagnostics and system maintenance is discussed.

Abstract:
The performance of electronic neural networks will eventually be limited by the capacity of their interconnections as operating speeds are increased. The use of optical connections to link electronic elements offers a way to overcome this problem. In particular, spatial optic techniques are especially suited to neural systems because of their parallel structure. Three experimental optoelectronic networks are described that employ holographic components and arrays of high-speed optical modulators. These networks have been used to demonstrate operation at 50 MHz, novel training algorithms and the expansion of a network to 64 × 8 connections with optical fan-out. A hybrid technique for integrating optoelectronic systems is also being developed.

Abstract:
One of the techniques which is a breakthrough to traditional lock step language teaching is group work. The traditional lockstep language teaching focuses teaching language on the explicit explanation of grammatical aspects, asking students to read and translate line by line, memorizing difficult words, repeating words, phrases and sentences, and memorizing dialogues. This way, students tend to be passive and have lack of language practice in the classroom. In other words, language teaching focuses on presenting grammatical knowledge, not on the use of language. The traditional teaching now has been replaced by the various innovative and effective language teaching techniques since the emergence of communicative language teaching in 1970s. One of them is group work. Group work is learning together in a small group of four or five to work with language. Through group work, students can have more chance to practice the use of language in the classroom. Many research findings show that group work is superior to traditional language teaching in terms of learning achievement. Some of the activities which can be implemented through group work in the classroom are to be presented in this paper. They are game, role play, project, information gap, jigsaw, think pair and share, debate, enquiry technique, prioritizing (Expedition to Gunoeng Leuser), and fishbowl technique.

In this letter a new technique is introduced for implementing the basic logic functions using analog current-mode techniques. By expanding the logic functions in power series expressions, and using summers and multipliers, realization of the basic logic functions is simplified. Since no transistors are working in saturation, the problem of fan-out is alleviated. To illustrate the proposed technique, a circuit for simultaneous realization of the logic functions NOT, OR, NAND and XOR is considered. Full text
Abstract:
This paper investigates countermeasures to side-channel attacks. A dynamic partial reconfiguration (DPR) method is proposed for field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)s to make techniques such as differential power analysis (DPA) and correlation power analysis (CPA) difficult and ineffective. We call the technique side-channel power resistance for encryption algorithms using DPR, or SPREAD. SPREAD is designed to reduce cryptographic key related signal correlations in power supply transients by changing components of the hardware implementation on-the-fly using DPR. Replicated primitives within the advanced encryption standard (AES) algorithm, in particular, the substitution-box (SBOX)s, are synthesized to multiple and distinct gate-level implementations. The different implementations change the delay characteristics of the SBOXs, reducing correlations in the power traces, which, in turn, increases the difficulty of side-channel attacks. The effectiveness of the proposed countermeasures depends greatly on this principle; therefore, the focus of this paper is on the evaluation of implementation diversity techniques.

Abstract:
AbstractThe technique of polyphase filterbanks is commonly used for signal processing in radio astronomy. The rapid and ongoing evolution of parallel hardware architectures requires optimised implementations of such techniques to be redeveloped. However, much of the published research regarding polyphase filterbanks refers the reader to signal processing books with a more general scope. Furthermore, these references tend to focus on the design of filters, rather than their implementation. For this reason, this work presents a mathematical background for the implementation of a polyphase filterbank specific to radio astronomy. It also addresses the advantages and disadvantages of polyphase filterbanks in comparison with more commonly used techniques.

Abstract:
AOP(Aspect Oriented Programming) is a programming technology that makes the OOP (Object Oriented Programming) technology more complementary and perfect when being applied together with OOP technology. AOP provides ideal modularized structure for programming. At the moment, AOP has been supported and applied in two leading programming platforms: Java and .Net. Java provides perfect support to AOP, but .Net has not clearly provided the technique to support AOP. Meanwhile, Design Pattern has been widely used in programming. This study analyzes the theory of AOP technique and provides an implementation strategy for AOP based techniques on Proxy Pattern in .Net platform.

Abstract:
Having a better motion model in the state estimator is one way to improve target tracking performance. Since the motion model of the target is not known a priori, either robust modeling techniques or adaptive modeling techniques are required. The neural extended Kalman filter is a technique that learns unmodeled dynamics while performing state estimation in the feedback loop of a control system. This coupled system performs the standard estimation of the states of the plant while estimating a function to approximate the difference between the given state-coupling function model and the behavior of the true plant dynamics. At each sample step, this new model is added to the existing model to improve the state estimate. The neural extended Kalman filter has also been investigated as a target tracking estimation routine. Implementation issues for this adaptive modeling technique, including neural network training parameters, were investigated and an analysis was made of the quality of performance that the technique can have for tracking maneuvering targets.
