The study aims to analyze the condonation in English and Arabic texts from a functional pragmatic perspective, namely, speech acts, dexis, transitivity, discursive strategies (as in compassion move, hyperbole, concretization and genericization), functional items(textual, logical, interpersonal, experiential). The selected texts of condonation are taken from the holy Bible and the glorious Quran. The study adopts a qualitative method of analysis. Findings of the study are: first, condonation is conditional to some kinds of people in both texts. Second, Its form can be divided into explicit and

The objectives of the present study were to evaluate the impact of a single bout of high-intensity aerobic exercise on 1) long-term potentiation (LTP)-like neuroplasticity via response to paired associative stimulation (PAS) and 2) the temporal and spatial components of sequence-specific implicit motor learning. Additionally, relationships between exercise-induced increases in systemic brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and response to PAS and motor learning were evaluated. Sixteen young healthy participants completed six experimental sessions, including the following: 1) rest followed b

Abstract In this paper, we develop a 3D implicit single-fluid magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) model to simulate the steady-state solar corona with a wide range of Mach numbers and low plasma β. We employ a low-dissipation advection upstream splitting method (AUSM) to calculate the convective flux in the regions of low Mach numbers for a high resolution, and hybridize the AUSM with Harten-Lax-van Leer Riemann solver in the regions of high Mach numbers to improve the solver’s robustness. The inner boundary condition of no backflow is implemented by numerical flux. A reconstruction method based on the

Within–subject processes are proposed to explain between–subject associations of dispositional motives and relationship satisfaction. For an empirical test of the model, data on the dispositional partner–related need for communion and global relationship satisfaction were obtained from 152 individuals in heterosexual relationships. “Delirium is common in critically ill patients and is associated with adverse outcomes”: an almost universal introduction to studies of delirium in intensive care medicine. Regrettably, each element of this statement is misleading. Delirium is indeed common in the intensive care unit (ICU), but is present in so many forms (hypoactive, agitated, mixed;1 related to different aetiologies; sedation-related or not) and so dependent on study population and method of assessment as to make studies using unqualified definitions difficult to interpret. Further, this statement is commonly invoked as the

In recent years, the view of economists and issuers of cryptocurrencies has changed a lot, from the original price of cryptocurrencies is unpredictable, to the view that cryptocurrencies are affected by several key factors. Confidence is one of the key factors, and it is thought to be controllable. However, many economists and cryptocurrency issuers have acknowledged that the support for confidence in the cryptocurrency market is complex and volatile. The goal of this paper is to propose ways to stabilize confidence in cryptocurrencies based on these studies. Explicit and implicit policies are

Implicit motor imagery (IMI), with an image laterality discrimination (LD) task, has been proposed as a useful therapeutic tool to restore body schema in patients with chronic pelvic pain (CPP). The aim of this study was to analyse the existence of differences between patients with CPP and healthy individuals in order to justify the use of IMI. An observational, cross-sectional study with non-probabilistic sampling was designed as a one-to-one matched case–control study. Sequential recommendation system has received widespread attention due to its good performance in solving data overload. However, most of the sequential recommendation methods assume that user’s preferences only depend on specific items in the current sequence and do not consider user’s implicit interests. In addition, most of the previous works mainly focus on exploiting relationships between items in the sequence and seldom consider quantifying the degree of preferences for items implied by user’s different behaviors. In order to address these above two problems, we propose an implicit prefe

AbstractThe effects of emotion on time perception are elusive: depending on the intensity, valence and arousal of the situation, implicit and explicit time perception seems to slow down or speed up. Awe is a strong and powerful positive emotion that is typically elicited in response to vast stimuli and therefore inducing awe may be optimally suited for studying the relationship between emotion and time perception. In two studies we investigated whether the experience of awe would result in an expanded perception of time. Participants watched awe-eliciting, positive and neutral videos and simul

Previous work suggests that explicit and implicit evaluations (good–bad) involve somewhat different neural circuits that process different dimensions such as valence, emotional intensity, and complexity. To better understand these differences, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging to identify brain regions that respond differentially to such dimensions depending on whether or not an explicit evaluation is required. Participants made either good–bad judgments (evaluative) or abstract–concrete judgments (not explicitly evaluative) about socially relevant concepts (e.g., “murder,” “happin
