Objective: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is associated with various immunopathophysiological pathways. Therefore, several inflammatory, hematological and immunological biomarkers are essential for diagnosis, prognosis, and survival of COPD. Among these inflammatory markers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), neutrophil, lymphocyte and platelet counts were shown to have strong correlations with prognosis, survival and mortality. Recently, a novel inflammatory marker stated as systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) were presented as the most accurate in predicting inflammatory st

The knowledge of the refractive index of liquids is of major importance in many application fields and therefore several methods have been proposed to achieve high precision and accuracy. Although most methods can in principle be used both in the visible and in outer ranges (e g. in the infrared), they have typically been tested only in the visible, mainly due to experimental difficulties, and values in the infrared have been obtained by extrapolation.

We report room-temperature time-resolved pump-probe transmission (T) and reflectivity (R) measurements of a GaAs thin film with 80 fs time resolution by means of our copper-vapor laser-amplified colliding-pulse mode-locking dye laser. Ultrafast carrier-induced changes of the absorption coefficient and refractive index are then calculated from measured T and R values. Photon energies at the band edge (1.38-1.46 eV) and near the initial excited states (1.90-2.18 eV) are used, and photoexcited carrier densities are varied from 1017 to 1019 cm-3. There are many regression relationships linking the indices of magnetic activity with a wide range of phenomena observed in the Earth's magnetosphere and atmosphere. Little is known about the extent and drivers of information flow within couples and whether spouses hold aligned expectations about the same outcomes. To provide new evidence, we conduct an online survey of 2,200 middle-aged married couples in the U.S. Our focus is on expectations about Social Security benefits. We first document misalignment in expectations: the correlation between partners’ beliefs about a given spouse’s Social Security benefits is 0.70, well below full agreement. We also show that this imperfect alignment is systematically associated with couple-specific characteristics. To
