Abstract:
This master thesis focuses on the issue of tangible fixed assets management in the company HP spol. s r.o. which manufactures plastic bags and various technical parts. This thesis is based on the current state of the company and with attention to key areas such as care of the tangible fixed assets, organization and operation maintenance. The aim of the company analysis is to identify weaknesses and their resulting opportunities. In the next section are presented solutions to problems which were identified by analysis. Economic evaluation of the proposals with their benefits and timetable is carried out in conclusion of the thesis.

Abstract:
This Master’s Thesis aimed to assess and propose improvements for initial learnability in Sectra AB’s Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) by integrating usability engineering and agile software development. Assessing initial learnability and re-designing complex systems is difficult as they have a high skill cap and take longer time to learn in comparison to simpler ones. Further, companies that use agile methodologies often focus on completing small items which might hide the overarching vision of a product that can lead to usability problems. While there are several methods for assessing usability, no research has specifically focused on assessing initial learnability in complex systems. This study however investigates how this may be achieved by combining current methodologies for measuring learnability with usability engineering and agile software development. Initial learnability issues and needs were assessed after evaluating Sectra PACS using 5 participants and analysed using impact mapping as well as conducting a focus group within the organisation that owns the product.

Företagsvärlden omfattas av hård konkurrens som kräver en ständig utveckling av produkter, personal och verksamheten. Utvecklingen sker på bekostnad av hårda krav i arbetsbeskrivningar där ständigt förbättringsarbete ingår i arbetsrollen hos individerna. För att kunna sammanlänka ständiga förbättringar med verksamhetens välmående behövs ett strukturerat förbättringsarbete i form av en väl fungerande förslagsverksamhet. Förslagsverksamhetens syfte är att utnyttja erfarenheter och kunskaper från alla medarbetare genom att stimulera individernas kompetens och idégenerering för att sedan bidra med innovativa och konkurrensmässiga förbättringsförslag. Personal är en resurs som omfattar säregna kunskaper som inget annat företag kan kopiera, därför bör den användas till högsta grad. Syftet med examensarbetet är att kartlägga och ange förbättringsåtgärder för förslagsverksamhetsprocessen vid GKN Aerospace Sweden AB i Trollhättan. Arbetet bestod av en inledande litteraturstudie som innehöll indirekta och direkta faktorer som påverkar förbättringsarbetet med en koppling till förslagsverksamheters funktioner. För att konkretisera den teoretiska referensramen om verktygens innebörd till förbättringsarbetet utfördes en teoretisk samt en praktisk benchmarking. Företagets nuvarande förslagsverksamhet kartlades och analyserades för att sedan bygga en grund för kommande förbättringsförslag.GKN Aerospace Sweden är en del av GKN-koncernen som är verksam i fler än 30 länder runt om i världen och har ca 50 000 anställda. Företaget tillverkar komponenter till flyg- och raketmotorer samt utför service och underhåll. I dagsläget arbetar GKN Aerospace med en förslagsverksamhet som är beroende helt av ett internt IT-system och har en medelledtid på 43 veckor till beslut om belöning och åtgärd. Belöningar för förslag som inkommer är ekonomiska och beräknas fram genom en specifik belöningsformel. Hela förslagsverksamhetsprocessen är omfattande och i den ingår flertalet loopar för behandling av förslag. Examensarbetet resulterade i förbättringsförslag utifrån studier och nulägesanalys men skiljs åt från det förväntade målet att förbättra och utveckla nuvarande system. Problemet som uppkom var att nuvarande system inte stödjer verksamhetens förväntningar på förslagsverksamheten. Det resulterade i att ett helt nytt system med tillhörande rutiner och belöningsriktlinjer togs fram för att skapa incitament och högre motivation för inlämnandet av förbättringsförslag. Förbättringsförslagen mynnade ut i: avsatt tid, förbättringsarbete i grupp, uppstartsmöte, ny process, underlag för utveckling av nytt IT-system, ekonomisk och symbolisk belöning.<br>The business world is constantly subject to intense competition that requires continuous development of products, personnel and operations within the company. The development towards a better state comes at the expense of strict requirements in job descriptions where continuous improvement is part of the working role of individuals. In order to link the continuous improvement of the business well-being, there is a need of structured work for improvement in ways of a well-functioning suggestion scheme. Suggestion schemes main purpose is to utilize the experience and knowledge of all employees by encouraging individuals' skills and creativity, which will contribute with innovative and competitive suggestions. Personnel is a resource that covers particular knowledge that no other company can copy; therefore it should be utilized to the maximum extent possible. The aim of the project is to identify and specify improvement measures for the suggestion scheme at GKN Aerospace Sweden AB in Trollhättan. The work consisted of an initial literature review, which included direct and indirect factors effecting the continuous improvement with linkage to the proposed suggestion scheme. In order to concretize the theoretical framework of the tools main purpose for the continuous improvement, a theoretical and a practical benchmarking was utilized. The company's current suggestion scheme was mapped and analyzed, and a foundation for future improvements was established.GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of the GKN Group, which operates in more than 30 countries around the world and employs about 50 000 individuals. The company manufactures components for aircraft and rocket engines, as well as service and maintenance. In the current situation GKN Aerospace manages a suggestion scheme that depends entirely on an internal IT system and has an average lead time of 43 weeks until a decision is made. The reward system for received suggestions is an economic reimbursement calculated through a complex formula. The entire suggestion scheme process is extensive and includes several loops for conducting the evaluation of suggestions. The thesis resulted in improvement propositions based on studies and situation analysis, but differs from the expected target to improve and develop the current system. The problem that arose was that the current system does not support the company's expectations for the suggestion scheme process. It resulted in a completely new system with associated procedures and reward guidelines were developed to create incentives and higher motivation for the submission of suggestions for improvement. The improvement propositions resulted in: dedicated time for improvements, group-based activities for continuous improvements, start-up meetings, new process, basis for the development of a new IT system, economic and symbolic rewards.Date: 2015-

Abstract:
The industrial robot is a flexible and cheap standard component that can becombined with a milling head to complete low accuracy milling tasks. Thefuture goal for researchers and industry is to increase the milling accuracy, suchthat it can be introduced to more high value added operations.The serial build up of an industrial robot bring non-linear compliance andchallenges in vibration mitigation due to the member and reducer design. WithAdditive Manufacturing (AM), the traditional cast aluminum structure couldbe revised and, therefore, milling accuracy gain could be made possible due tostructural changes.This thesis proposes the structural changes that would improve the millingaccuracy for a specific trajectory. To quantify the improvement, first the robothad to be reverse engineered and a kinematic simulation model be built. Nextthe kinematic simulation process was automated such that multiple input parameterscould be varied and a screening conducted that proposed the mostprofitable change.It was found that a mass decrease in any member did not affect the millingaccuracy and a stiffness increase in the member of the second axis would increasethe milling accuracy the most, without changing the design concept. To changethe reducer in axis 1 would reduce the mean position error by 7.5 % and themean rotation error by 4.5 % approximately, but also reduces the maximumspeed of the robot. The best structural change would be to introduce twosupport bearings for axis two and three, which decreased the mean positioningerror and rotation error by approximately 8 % and 13 % respectively.<br>En industrirobot är en anpassningsbar och relativt billig standardkomponent.Den kan utrustas med ett fräshuvud för att genomföra fräsoperationer med låg noggrannhet. Det framtida målet för forskare och industri är att öka noggrannheten vid fräsning så att dess användningsområde kan utökas till ändamål som kräver högre precision.Den seriella uppbyggnaden av en industrirobot medför icke-linjär styvhet och därmed utmaningar vid vibrationsdämpning. Detta på grund av den strukturella uppbyggnaden då en industrirobot kan förenklat sägas vara uppbyggd av balkelement som i ledpunkterna kopplas samman av växellådor. Med friformsframställning kan en mer komplex struktur erhållas jämfört med traditionellt gjuten aluminiumkonstruktion därmed skulle en ökad noggrannhet vid fräsning kunna uppnås.Det här examensarbetet föreslår strukturella ändringar som skulle kunna öka noggrannheten vid fräsning för en specifik fräsbana. För att kvantifiera förbättringen, var det först nödvändigt att utgående från tillgänglig data konstruktion en specific robot samt att bygga en kinematisk modell. Därefter automatiserades beräkningsflödet så att ett flertal indata kunde varieras. Detta resulterande i en kombinationsstudie som visade den mest gynsamma strukturella förändringen.Det visade sig att en minskning av balkelementens massa inte påverkade nogrannheten. Att öka styvheten i balkelementet från den andra axeln skulle d¨aremot öka nogrannheten mest utan att behöva ändra robotens uppbyggnad.Att byta växellåda i första axeln kan öka positionsnogrannheten med nära 7.5 % och rotationsnoggrannheten med cirka 4.5 % men ändringen sänker samtidigt den maximala hastigheten. Den bästa strukturella förändringen vore att introducera ett stödlager vid axel två respektive tre, vilket skulle förbättra positionsnogrannheten med cirka 8 % och rotationsnogrannheten med nära 13 %.

Les tests automatisés sont au cœur du développement de logiciels modernes. Pourtant, les développeurs éprouvent des difficultés lorsqu'il s'agit d'évaluer la qualité de leurs scénarios de test et de trouver des moyens de les améliorer. Le but principal de cette thèse est précisément de générer des suggestions concrètes que les développeurs peuvent suivre pour améliorer leurs suites de tests. Nous proposons l'utilisation de mutations extrêmes ou de transformations extrêmes comme alternative pour découvrir les problèmes de test. Les transformations extrêmes sont une forme de test par mutation qui supprime toute la logique d'une méthode au lieu d'effectuer un petit changement syntaxique dans le code. Comme son homologue traditionnel, elle challenge la suite de tests avec une variante du programme pour voir si les cas de tests peuvent détecter le changement. Dans cette thèse, nous évaluons la pertinence des problèmes de test que les transformations extrêmes peuvent mettre en évidence. Nous proposons également une analyse dynamique de infection-propagation pour dériver automatiquement des suggestions concrètes d'amélioration des tests à partir de transformations extrêmes non détectées. Nos résultats sont validés par les échanges avec les développeurs. Nous faisons également état de l'adoption industrielle de certaines parties de nos résultats<br>Automated testing is at the core of modern software development. Yet developers struggle when it comes to the evaluation of the quality of their test cases and how to improve them. The main goal of this thesis is precisely that, to generate concrete suggestion that developers can follow to improve their test suite. We propose the use of extreme mutation, or extreme transformations as an alternative to discover testing issues. Extreme transformations are a form of mutation testing that remove the entire logic of a method instead of making a small syntactic change in the code. As it traditional counterpart it challenges the test suite with a transformed variant of the program to see if the test cases can detect the change. In this thesis we assess the relevance of the testing issues that extreme transformations can spot. We also propose a dynamic infection-propagation analysis to automatically derive concrete test improvement suggestions from undetected extreme transformations. Our results are validated through the interaction with actual developers. We also report the industrial adoption of parts of our results. developers to improve their tests by detecting more of these transformations. Många företag står idag inför en affärssituation med stigande konkurrens,krympande marknader, och ökade kundkrav. Framför allt sitter många fast i ett föråldrat sätt attdriva sin verksamhet på, som är dåligt anpassat för den allt tuffare marknaden. Den rekommenderadelösningen stavas ofta ”inför kvalitetstänk och börja jobba med förbättringar”. Det kandock vara lättare sagt än gjort för företag utan tidigare erfarenheter från en sådan strategi, ochmed eventuella betydande brister i sin ordinarie organisationsstruktur. Demotikos AB i Stockholmär ett exempel på ett sådant företag.Avsikten med detta examensarbete är att ta fram ett förbättringsprogram särskilt anpassat förDemotikos AB genom att analysera olika kvalitetsfilosofier och koncept, samt att göra en utförlignulägesanalys av företaget. Målet är att presentera ett förbättringsprogram tillsammans meden implementationsplan som är väl anpassad till företagets utgångsläge och förutsättningar ochsom samtidigt stämmer väl överens med rådande forskningslitteratur. Därefter utgick manfrån kartläggningen och jämförde den med vilka effekter olika förbättringsprogram kunde åstadkomma.Efter ett program hittades gick man vidare till att utvärdera olika arbetsmetoder ochverktyg. Till sist undersöktes en lämplig implementationsplan.<br>Many companies are today facing a business situation with rising competition,shrinking markets, and increasing customer demands. Above all, many are stuck with an outdatedapproach on how to run their business, an approach that is poorly adapted to the ever moredemanding market. The recommended solution is often spelled "implement a quality mindsetand start working with improvements". However, this can be much easier said than done forcompanies without any experience of such a strategy, as well as any significant deficiencies in itsregular organizational structure. Demotikos AB in Stockholm is an example of such a company.This thesis is aiming to produce an improvement program for Demotikos AB by analyzing differentquality philosophies and concepts, as well as making a detailed situation analysis of thecompany. The goal is to present an improvement program together with an implementation planthat is well adapted to the company’s current condition and at the same time consistent withcurrent research literature. The company also wish to be able to use the collected quality data inthe report as a basis for a quality introduction for its employees.The company’s needs as well as problem areas were identified, through a present day analysis.The result were compared it with what effects various improvement programs could present.After an appropriate program was found the project went on to evaluate various methods andtools. Finally, a suitable implementation plan examined.

Activity-Based Computing (ABC) is a way working with computers based on activites rather than just applications and documents.This thesis covers the use of Activity-Based Computing concepts in current software products.Several groups of software products have been analyzed in a product analysis, including cloud computing services and web browsers. This analysis reveals that most products have functionality similar to some of the ABC concepts. It also shows that some product groups includes more ABC concepts than others, and different products have similarities with different ABC concepts.Suggestions for improvements to enable ABC in web browsers and cloud computing services are also included in this thesis.A concept development approach have been used to propose possible solutions and improvements to web browsers. Web browsers are a good starting point for implementing ABC for use with cloud services and web applications.The concept development is based on the analysis of the five currently largest web browsers, and provides suggestions for functionality required to fully implement Activity-Based Computing.

Concern about water quality has become an important environmental issue in the world, the United States, and Virginia. Volunteers have increasingly stepped forward to assist in the water quality monitoring task, and both state and federal protection agencies increasingly depend upon such voluntary assistance. The Izaak Walton League's Save Our Streams (SOS) is one such volunteer citizen water quality monitoring program. Recruiting, training, organizing and retaining volunteers are among the most resource intensive tasks of volunteer organizations. The purpose of this thesis is to document the motivations of SOS volunteers and the primary causes of their attrition in order to improve the SOS program as well as to enhance the experience of SOS volunteers. We also compared motivations of SOS volunteers, differences in SOS volunteers' evaluation of the program, and suggestions for improvements by varying participation levels in volunteerism. <p> We found that SOS volunteers are primarily motivated by a desire to protect streams and to improve water quality. Learning about streams and teaching these concepts to others were also important motivations. Volunteers cited not enough time and having too many other obligations as the main reasons why they stopped participating in SOS activities. Recruitment and retention of SOS volunteers may be aided by providing feedback about how volunteer data are being used by protection agencies to protect streams, and providing opportunities for learning about streams and teaching these concepts to others. Lastly, we found that those volunteers who were most active in SOS differed in their motivations for participating, tended to be the most critical of the services and materials, and were most adamant about their data being used to protect streams.<br>Master of Science

Abstract:
The aim was to psychometrically test the S-HSOPSC and HSOPSC, investigate health care staff’s perceptions of patient safety culture and their suggestions for improvement. Methods: A three-time cross-sectional study with data from health care staff (N= 3721) in a Swedish county council was conducted in 2009 (N = 1,023), 2011 (N = 1,228) and 2013 (N =1,470) using the S-HSOPSC (I, II, III). Health care staff’s suggestions for improvement were analyzed in a qualitative content analysis study (IV). Results: The S-HSOPSC (14 dimensions, 51 items) is acceptable for measuring patient safety culture (I). Health care staff held a positive attitude towards their own unit’s teamwork, and a less favorable attitude towards hospital managers’ support for patient safety work (I). Managers held a more positive attitude towards patient safety than others and enrolled nurses held a more positive attitude than registered nurses and physicians (II, III). Positive attitudes towards learning, nonpunitive response and staffing was associated with positive attitudes towards overall safety (II). Health care staff’s attitudes towards patient safety decreased between 2009- 2013 for 12 dimensions (III). A diversity of approaches, nuanced in relation to the informant’s profession was suggested to improve patient safety, for example ‘Increased staffing’ ‘Teamwork and collaboration’ and ‘Committed management' (IV). Conclusions: The S-HSOPSC is suitable for measuring patient safety culture. Supporting and committed managers, teamwork and collaboration are important for patient safety improvement. RNs have an important coordinating position in patient safety work, since they work in close proximity to the patients, and strategically in teams, where decisions of importance for patient safety are made. Health care staff attitudes towards communication, nonpunitive approach, feedback and learning from mistakes have deteriorated. To prevent from organizational fatigue, actions are needed.<br>Baksidestext: In health care, many patients are being harmed, with leads to suffering and financial costs. Health care staff’s patient safety culture reflects their attitudes towards safety for patients. The overall aim was to psychometrically test the questionnaires S-HSOPSC and HSOPSC for measuring patient safety culture, investigate health care staff’s perceptions of patient safety culture and their suggestions for improvement. In this thesis, respondents in the most common health care staff groups participated. Health care staff held a positive attitude towards patient safety culture within their own unit’s work. The perception of patient safety culture differed between professions and managers had a more positive attitude towards patient safety culture than others. Health care staff’s attitudes towards patient safety decreased during the measurement period for almost all aspects and they suggested many approaches to improve patient safety. Patient safety needs to be a responsibility for everyone. Supporting, committed managers, teamwork and collaboration are important for patient safety improvement. RNs have an important coordinating position in patient safety work.<br>Syftet var att psykometriskt testa frågeformulären S-HSOPSC och HSOPSC och undersöka sjukvårdspersonals attityder till patientsäkerhet samt förslag till förbättringar. Metod: Tre tvärsnittsundersökningar genomfördes. Sjukhuspersonal (N = 3 721) i ett landsting besvarade enkäten Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture om patientsäkerhetskultur år 2009 (n = 1 023), 2011 (n = 1 228) och 2013 (n = 1 470) (I, II, III). Sjukvårdspersonalens förslag på förbättring av patientsäkerhet studerades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys (IV). Resultatet visade att den svenska versionen S-HSOPSC (14 dimensioner, 51 frågor) är acceptabel för att mäta patientsäkerhetskultur (I). Sjukvårdspersonalen hade en positiv attityd till aspekter av patientsäkerhet som handlade om arbete på den egna vårdenheten, men en mindre positiv attityd till högsta ledningens stöd för patientsäkerhetsarbetet (I). Chefer hade en mer positiv attityd till patientsäkerhet än andra och undersköterskor hade en mer positiv attityd än sjuksköterskor och läkare (II, III). Förmågan att dra lärdom av misstag, en icke-skuldbeläggande attityd vid misstag samt bemanning var positivt associerad till en positiv attityd till generell patientsäkerhet (II). Sjukvårdspersonalens attityder till patientsäkerheten försämrades under mätperioden för 12 av 14 dimensioner. (III). Sjukvårdspersonalen föreslog en mängd förbättringar av patientsäkerheten. Förslagen var nyanserade i relation till informanternas egen profession (IV). Konklusioner: Engagerade chefer är viktigt för patientsäkerheten. Teamwork och förståelse för varandras arbete är gynnsamt för patientsäkerheten. The purpose of this work has been to investigate if there is a way to create 2D-drawings in SolidWorks that make them more suited for automation with configuration software. Another purpose has been to explore if the configuration software TactonWorks could be improved regarding how it handles 2D-drawings. At the start of the project, many users of TactonWorks had problems creating configurable 2D-drawings and it was considered to be tedious and time consuming. In this report, guidelines for creating configurable 2D-drawings will be presented. Suggestions for how TactonWorks can be improved to make it easier for the user to create configurable drawings will also be brought up. To achieve this, a theoretical study about drawing standards and SolidWorks, as well as interviews with users of TactonWorks was conducted. Self-studies both of SolidWorks and TactonWorks, by the authors of this thesis, were also a basis for the results. It turned out that most of the users did not use any special methods to create configurable drawings, but there were some exceptions. Overall most of the users encountered the same sort of problems, where the most critical was the handling of positions of dimensions and other details on drawings with TactonWorks. The basic problem with creating drawings was to make sure they looked legible, without overlapping dimensions and views, in multiple configurations, and this could be difficult with the tools available. The suggested guidelines include, amongst other things, the importance of controlling everything on the drawing in order to control, as far as possible, how it deals with changes. The importance of using references that are robust for multiple configurations is also brought up. The main software improvements regarding TactonWorks include a new way of dealing with the positioning of dimensions, and other details of the drawing. After the empirical and the theoretical studies were finished it was concluded that TactonWorks should go towards being more automated, but it is still important for the user to have some control.<br>Syftet med detta arbete har varit att undersöka om det finns sätt att skapa 2D-ritningar i SolidWorks som gör dem bättre anpassade för automatisering med konfigurationsprogramvara. Ett annat syfte har varit att undersöka hur konfigurationsprogramvaran TactonWorks kan förbättras för att hantera 2D-ritningar. Vid projektets start hade många användare av TactonWorks problem med att skapa konfigurerbara 2D-ritningar och det ansågs vara omständligt och tidskrävande. I denna rapport kommer riktlinjer presenteras för hur man bör gå tillväga för att skapa konfigurerbara 2D-ritningar. Förslag på hur TactonWorks kan förbättras för att underlätta skapandet av konfigurerbara ritningar kommer också att tas upp. För att åstadkomma detta genomfördes en teoretisk studie av ritningsstandarder och SolidWorks, samt intervjuer med användare av TactonWorks. Eget arbete, av författarna till denna rapport, med både SolidWorks och TactonWorks låg också till grund för resultaten. Det visade sig att de flesta användarna inte använde sig av några särskilda metoder för att skapa konfigurerbara ritningar, men det fanns några undantag där de utnyttjade plan i 3Dmodellen. Undergraduate pre-business students who had taken an introductory business statistics course three years ago were sent a questionnaire that, among several other questions, asked them about their views on the usefulness of the course. Students rated the introductory business statistics course as "moderately important" for their business education. They favored an integrated approach that covers both the statistical concepts and the computer software necessary to carry out the statistical analysis, and they had a strong preference for the Microsoft EXCEL software. Students thought that projects played an important role in introducing them to real-world applications of statistics, but they also mentioned several problems that arose with group-based work. E-commerce distribution channel experiences a dramatic development nowadays. France witnessed a rapid growth rate of online sales in recent years and now ranks as the second largest market in Europe in terms of turnover. On E-commerce websites, customer review system is considered as an efficient tool of E-Word of Mouth, enabling users to write recommendations which will influence potential purchasers. This paper discusses the crucial factors of customer review system. Also, a tool to evaluate review system is elaborated with five criteria such as accessibility, quality, design, interaction and control. Ten case studies of French E-commerce firms are presented according to those criteria in qualitative study. Opinions from French customers are collected through online questionnaires in quantitative study. Researches made from supply (firms) and demand (customers) sides show that accessibility and quality are the main concerns for users and often weaknesses in current review systems. Also, the credibility of reviews is questioned by customers. Focusing on these aspects, the paper aims to give suggestions for designing an ideal customer review system to firms in French e-commerce industry.

The accidents revealed important multiunit risk sources that are not identified by risk assessments for single-unit sites. Therefore, it's important to obtain an integrated risk evaluation for multiunit sites. However, multiunit accident scenarios are difficult to analyze due to the complexity of multiunit interactions. In the work reported here, a framework capable of analyzing multiunit accident scenarios involving inter-unit interactions is presented. Our framework provides a structured method to analyze accident propagation events, which are not being studied much currently. In addition, our framework is capable of providing accident mitigation and site improvement suggestions that can help improve site safety.<br>The accident scenarios and risk contributors analyzed in our framework are developed based upon our interviews with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) engineers concerning their experiences during the 2011 Fukushima accidents. This first-hand information helps us to better understand multiunit accident scenarios and difficulties in multiunit accident mitigations. In this work, the major steps of our framework are first explained by a simplified two-unit site. The simplified site structure is constructed such that the distractions from overly complex systems are minimized. Additionally, analyses of more risk contributors are illustrated using a relatively complex two-unit site, which illustrates the capability of our framework to analyze complex sites. Even though only a limited number of accident scenarios and risk contributors are illustrated in our work, the capability of the framework goes beyond that.<br>With proper input information, our framework can be adapted to sites and accident scenarios more complex than those illustrated in our work. Analyzing multiunit risks using our framework can help sites to refine expertise and data and to identify hidden multiunit vulnerabilities and eliminate them in advance. In order to evaluate UX in software applications, several technologies (tools, methods, techniques) have been proposed that range from using questionnaires to employing biometrics to gather quantitative and qualitative data on users’ experience. However, there is a need for research in the development of specific UX evaluation technologies that are easy and comfortable to use from the point of view of users, while supporting software engineers in the correction of the aspects that cause poor experiences. Additionally, new UX approaches should be proposed for evaluating mobile applications, as there is still a shortage of methods for this type of applications, which is rising in demand. This doctoral dissertation proposes an alternative approach for evaluating mobile applications called Redesigning for EXperience (REX), which intends to be less intrusive for users when extracting UX data, while generating reports containing design suggestions for improving the UX. We assessed the acceptance of the initial versions of the REX approach from the point of view of users and software engineers in two studies. When compared to 3E, a qualitative UX evaluation method, the results showed that REX was perceived as more fun, useful and more interactive. Additionally, software engineers considered REX useful and easy to understand, while suggesting improving its report to facilitate its understanding and increase its use. After working on the improvements opportunities from the empirical studies, we developed a tool support for the REX approach called the REX report generator. Also, we carried out an observational study to verify to which extent the REX approach could be applied in a real software development project. Thus, REX was employed by users to evaluate a mobile educational application and a discussion meeting was held with the software development team to discuss the improvement suggestions provided by REX to support the redesign process. The findings from the observational study indicated the satisfaction of users to report their experience with the REX approach, while the members of the development team agreed with the usefulness of the REX report and its improvement suggestions. By providing design suggestions, we aim to support software engineers in improving the UX of the developed mobile applications, thus increasing their quality and acceptance in the market.<br>.

Därför är arbetets syfte att undersöka stopptidslängder samt bakomliggande orsaker till stoppen på företaget. Det ingår även i arbetet att lämna förslag på åtgärder som kan leda till förbättringar i verksamhetsgrad samt reduktion av stopptid. VIDA Vislanda vill veta vilken verkningsgrad, verklig löpmeter ut och verkligt stycketal ut för varje enskild dimension och längd. Resultatet presenteras efter detta önskemål men den totala verkningsgraden för hela mätperioden har också beräknats, till 52 %. Om VIDA åtgärdar de största återkommande stopporsakrna enligt våra förbättringsförslag kommer stopporsakerna att minska och således verkningsgraden att öka.<br>VIDA Vislanda has a need to know how efficient production is on their new planing mill. Therefore, work to investigate the stopping time lengths and the underlying causes of stoppages at the company is needed. It is also part of the work to submit proposals on measures that could lead to improvements in activity rates and reduction of downtime. VIDA Vislanda wants to know the efficiency, real meters out and real units out for each dimension and length. The results are presented after this request, but the overall efficiency of the entire measurement period was also calculated, to 52%. If VIDA addresses the major recurring causes of stoppages with our proposed improvements it will decrease the stoppages and thus increase efficiency.

The Master thesis explores the knowledge sharing that takes place during the requirement engineering phase of globally distributed information systems development. In recent years, due to globalization, information systems development activities have become increasingly distributed across different geographical locations. Requirement engineering is an important and knowledge intensive phase in the development of information systems. Requirement engineering is the process of identifying, analyzing, documenting, validating and managing the requirements of a system. Effective and efficient knowledge sharing during the requirement engineering is vital for the successful development of information systems. However, the global distribution of the stakeholders has affected knowledge sharing during requirement engineering in various ways making it more challenging.   Drawing on the theories of knowledge sharing within the field of information systems, this interpretive research study aims at exploring stakeholders’ perceptions about the challenges met during the knowledge sharing in requirement engineering phase of globally distributed information systems development projects. More specifically, this Master thesis explores the perceived challenges and generates a list of suggestions to overcome the challenges by conducting qualitative semi-structured interviews among the key stakeholders, both customers and business analysts.   The findings indicate that the knowledge sharing is influenced by challenges such as cultural differences, language barriers, communication issues, coordination issues arising from multiple stakeholders, time difference and difficulty in sharing tacit knowledge in the globally distributed settings. Abstract:
This master thesis is a study of risk assessment tools and other risk management documentation created by consultants and contractors in the US and Sweden for underground construction projects. Risk management as part of managing underground projects is common practice in both countries for underground construction projects. Depending on location and other parameters other types of risks than the geological ones need to be considered, for example of the settings of the project is an urban environment or if it is situated in a less densely populated area. Normally underground project also involves large investments and therefore managing cost is important. Risk management is a way of managing cost and other areas that may be of concern. The main goals of this thesis are to: Identify a theoretical general approach to risk management and specifically risk assessments based on a literature study Identify similarities between risk management practices in the two countries Identify differences between risk management practices in the two countries Identify how risk management practices differ in the two countries from the theoretical approach established from the literature study Apart from the study of theoretical literature 12 projects in total were studied; 5 Swedish projects and 7 projects from the USA. The conclusions of this thesis are generally not statistically significant nor do they indicate trends; they are purely observation on the specific documentation studied. When comparing application in Sweden vs. application in the USA; main conclusions are: It is recognized that practices within risk management are generally the same in the two countries as established when studying theoretical literature on the subject. However categorization of risk parameters is normally less detailed in both countries’ project specific documentation than found in theoretical literature. The US risk management as a rule includes a numerical simulation to determine contingency levels for cost and schedule high ranked risks but the simulations were not done in the Swedish project specific documents. However it must be remembered that the US-projects studied were provided from one soul provider and is not in any way significant for this country but for the particular provider studied. Evaluating the risk registers of the projects studied there seem to be more concern for damages to third party in the US as compared to in Sweden. Also right-of-way, insurance and financial issues are of higher concern in the US projects studied as compared to the Swedish projects studied. The projects in Sweden put a slightly higher emphasis on space availability for construction than in the US projects. For more detailed findings; please read on!

<p>This study focuses on undergraduates in Shanghai and aims to generate some practical implications on how to improve the entrepreneurial environment by enhancing undergraduates’ entrepreneurial intentions. The authors initiated an analytical model with support from the GEM conceptual model and Krueger’s intention model (2000) to carry on an investigation among local undergraduates. The data reflects an actuality of undergraduates’ entrepreneurial intention. On the other hand, by the correlation analysis, undergraduates’ preferences upon different aspects of entrepreneurial environment are filtered out. Finally, practical implications are given through two aspects. One is divisions of respondents by their different grades of entrepreneurial intentions; the preferences from the higher intentioned group will firstly be suggested to improve. The other one is based on the comparison between undergraduates’ valuation and experts’ measurement on the entrepreneurial environment.</p><p>In conclusion, the study reflects that the analytical model is applicable to undergraduates in Shanghai. To enhance undergraduates’ entrepreneurial intention, it is highly recommended by the authors to improve entrepreneurial environment through more attention to the feasibility of technology transfer, sufficient government programs for new firms, the effectiveness of technological region, and government projects.</p>

Processkartläggning, som plattform för processbaserad verksamhetsutveckling, kan användas i hälso- och sjukvård för att kunna förstå en process och ge förutsättningar för förbättringar av den. Utgångspunkten var att det i litteraturen saknades en kartläggning av en vårdprocess som inkluderar sjukskrivningar, och sjukskrivningar ökar. Syftet var att förstå förutsättningarna för processbaserad verksamhetsutveckling gällande hälso- och sjukvårdens aktiviteter i primärvård för de patienter som söker vård vid förstämningssyndrom eller ångest/stress. Datainsamling gjordes i form av intervju samt processkartläggning av aktiviteter mellan sjukskrivning 1 och 2. Resultatet visade att berättelser med utgångspunkt i bra och dåliga erfarenheter av vårdprocessen kunde kopplas till framgångsfaktorer vad gäller förbättrad hälsa och återgång till arbete. De intervjuades roller, erfarenheter och syn på patientens behov gav upphov till olika förbättringsförslag gällande processen. Processkartläggningen visade på behov av en gemensam bild. Förslag till framtida processkartläggning gavs med utgångspunkt i resultatet.<br>Process mapping, as a prerequisite for process based organizational development, can be used in health care in order to understand the process and to provide possibilities of improving it. In the literature there was no mapping of the care process that includes sick leave, and sick leave increases. The purpose of the study was to understand the prerequisites for organizational development based on process mapping concerning primary health care activities for psychiatric diagnoses. Data collection was done by interviewing health professionals and by process mapping activities in the first period of sickness absence. The results showed that the stories based on good and bad experiences of the care process could be linked to success factors in terms of improved health and return to work. The informants different roles, experiences and perspective on the patient's needs gave rise to various suggestions for improvement of the process. Process mapping showed the need for a joint picture. Proposals based on the results, for future process mapping were given.

Intern materialhantering är ett ofta bortglömt område inom logistik, ett ämnesområde som annars i takt med den snabba och globala utvecklingen har fått ökad uppmärksamhet de senaste åren. I detta examensarbete studeras den interna materialhanteringen på Fläkt Woods ABs fabrik i Jönköping begränsat till flödet mellan godsmottagning och slutmontering. Syftet med fallstudien är att undersöka vilka problem som finns med den nuvarande interna materialhanteringen samt ge förbättringsförslag för hur den skulle kunna utvecklas för att minimera antalet produktionstopp orsakade av materialbrist. Studien har en abduktiv ansats där datainsamling genom dokumentation, observationer och intervjuer ligger till grund för en flödeskartläggning av tre produktgrupper som företaget bedömt vara mest intressanta att studera. Utifrån flödet identifieras möjliga problem och med hjälp av ett analytiskt ramverk klassificeras dessa för att urskilja de problem som leder till produktionsstopp. Studien visar att dessa handlar om att komponenter av någon anledning är felaktiga/skadade, lagras in/plockas på ett felaktigt sätt eller att det sker felaktigheter vid godsmottagning med avseende på registrering och sortering. Genomförda litteraturstudier ligger till grund för ett teoretiskt ramverk innehållande principer som bör tas i beaktning vid arbetet med intern materialhantering. Ramverket är en utgångspunkt för de förbättringsförslag som tas fram för att lösa de problem som bedöms orsaka produktionsstopp. Övergripande sett hamnar förbättrings­­förslagen inom tre skilda områden. Det första området berör problem orsakade av mänskliga faktorer vilka kan minimeras genom ökad motivation, produktkunskap och helhets­förståelse. Område nummer två täcker fysisk förflyttning av material samt registrering av detta i affärssystemet vilket bör ske på ett standardiserat och mer säkert sätt. Det tredje området innefattar ett behov av utökad mätning och uppföljning av de problem som uppstår i flödet för att få ökad kontroll över vad som sker. Studenterna rekommenderar företaget att, förutom att implementera föreslagna förbättringar, också studera det teoretiska ramverket för att kunna tillämpa detta på ytterligare problem som studien har identifierat men som ligger utanför studiens omfång.<br>Internal material handling is an area within logistics that receive little attention. Logistics on the other hand has received increased attention in recent years due to the fast and global growth of markets. The aim for this report is to study the internal material handling at Fläkt Woods AB’s factory in Jönköping, Sweden. The study is limited to include activities from receiving goods until the start of final assembly. The purpose with this case study is to identify potential problem within the current setup of the internal material handling system and provide suggestions for improvements in order to minimize downtime in production caused by lack of material. Based on an abductive approach, the data collection performed via documents, observations and interviews lays the foundation for the compilation of a number of flowcharts. These flowcharts describe the flow for three separate product groups which the company previously has identified as most interesting to map. With the flowcharts as a starting point potential problems are identified and, with the use of an own-composed analytical framework, also classified in order to sort out problems that are likely to cause downtime in production. The study states that these problems originate from damaged/defective components, incorrect storing/picking or occur due to errors when recording and sorting newly arrived goods. Literature studies are the basis for a theoretical framework containing a number of principles that should be taken into consideration when handling material internally. This framework is the base on which the presented suggestions for improvements rely. The suggestions can be divided into three separate areas. Problems caused by human factors can be minimized by increased motivation, increased knowledge and a more comprehensive view within the workforce. All kinds of physical movement along with registration in the ERP-system should be conducted in a more standardized and secure way. A need of increased measuring and monitoring has also become evident in order to increase control over different types of undesirable events. Beside implementing the proposed suggestions for improvement the students also advice the company to study the theoretical framework in order to be able to apply it on other problems. This study identifies quite a few other problems, but due to the scope of the study they are not further analyzed.

Examensarbetet har utförts under 10 veckor i uppdrag av Outokumpu Stainless AB via Uppsala universitet. Outokumpus produktion i Avesta tillverkar rostfritt stål, där en del av det producerade stålet slipas för att få en finare yta och minska defekter. I sliphallen finns 8st slipmaskiner som alla måste servas med nya slipskivor när de gamla är nedslipade. Detta utförs av två robotar som automatiskt ska åka ut i sliphallen och byta ut de gamla slipskivorna. Problematiken ligger i dessa robotar, vars automation endast fungerar fullt ut ett fåtal av gångerna. Examensarbetet gick således ut på att utvärdera dessa robotar samt generera förslag på förbättringsåtgärder. En stor del av arbetet fokuserades på analys av den befintliga skivbytesprocessen. Efter att förståelse erhållits för dagens process utfördes undersökningar i syfte att finna de faktorer som orsakar stopp i automationen samt dess konsekvenser. Till sist genererades lösningsförslag vars syften är att öka andelen automatiska byten. De huvudsakliga orsakerna till stoppen i automationen grundar sig i processens utformning, dess krav på precision och att ett flertal komponenter måste harmoniera för att byten ska fungera automatiskt. Bortsett från processens utformning är smuts, slitage, ej anpassad reglering och bristande rutiner faktorer som sätter stopp för automationen. Konsekvenser av problemet är säkerhetsrisker, frustration, tidsförluster för operatörer och ekonomiska förluster. Den instabila skivbytesprocessen påverkar i dagsläget inte nödvändigtvis ledtider på produkterna, men tvingar operatörer att byta slipskivor för tidigt vilket resulterar i outnyttjade slipskivor. Att öka andel automatiska byten är möjligt men kräver mycket arbete. Rutiner är viktigt, särskilt angående linjering av slipmaskinerna, vilket är en förutsättning för att det ska fungera. Även utbyte av slitna komponenter, optimering av reglertekniken och mindre programändringar är lösningar till en ökad andel automatiska byten. För att minska kostnaden för outnyttjade slipskivor krävs det att processen kan utföras snabbare och utan att påverka produktionen. Om företaget ska implementera en alternativ lösning är det viktigt att denna lösning inte kräver att operatörer behöver befinna sig i sliphallen. Detta grundar sig i säkerhetsrisker och minskad produktionskapacitet. Lösningen bör vara adaptiv för att ej behöva förlita sig på linjerade maskiner eller snäva toleranser.<br>This thesis in Mechanical engineering has been performed at the stainless steel manufacturer Outokumpu Stainless AB, through Uppsala University. At the company's production site some of the produced steel slabs are going through hot grinding in order to get the required surface finish, depending on the customer's demand on quality. There are 8 grinding machines in the grinding station, each of those needs to be provided with new abrasives when the old ones get to worn out. Two robots are installed to execute the abrasives change operation automatically, where each robot maintains 4 grinding machines, two coarse and two fine. This changing process is currently working fully automatically around one percent of the times which constitutes a problem. The thesis is about evaluation and improvement suggestions of this process, where the proportion of succeeded automatically replaced abrasives is in focus. A big part of the work has been based on analysing the existing process in purpose of understanding it fully. After enough knowledge about the process was achieved, investigations about the deficiencies of the process were conducted. Finally improvement suggestions were generated. The main cause of the automation failure is based on the process design and its precision requirements. The environment is tough and the forces are big which affects the process negatively. In addition there are a several components that need to harmonize in order for the abrasives replacement to work properly. Aside from the design of the process other critical factors are dust, component wear, deficient adapted regulation and lacking of alignment routines. Consequences of the failed automatically abrasive replaces are reduced safety, frustration among operators, time loss and economical losses. When the automation stops, the operators have to manually correct the errors alongside the grinding machines in the grinding area. The unstable processes does not necessarily affect the value-adding lead time but forces operators to change the abrasives too early which results in losses in form of non-fully utilized abrasives. Increasing the proportion of automatically fulfilled replaced abrasives is possible but requires much work. Routines are important, especially with alignment of the grinding machines which is a prerequisite for the process to succeed. Replacing of wear damaged components, optimizing the regulation and smaller programming changes are also solutions that contribute to an increasing proportion. To minimize the cost of unutilized abrasives the process is required to perform faster and without interfering with the production.   If the company wants to implement a different solution in form of an investment it is important that the solution does not require operators to be inside the grinding area. This is based on safety issues, also the risk of interrupting the production and creating a bottleneck, which can be crucial under more demanding periods. The solution should be a faster, more adaptive system and should not have to rely on alignment and narrow tolerances.

Det digitala samhället förändras och privatpersoner som egenföretagare kan på ett enkelt sätt skapa sin egen hemsida. Därmed förväntas webbutvecklarna kunna leverera tjänster av hög kvalité som kräver stor erfarenhet och kunskap. Hur påverkas då de webbyråer som är ute efter att hålla sig i utvecklingens framkant? Många större företag väljer att arbeta utefter processledning med hjälp av modeller för att höja kvalitén i deras produktion. För en webbyrå kan det ses som svårt då inget projekt brukar vara sig likt. Studien syftar till att bidra med ökad kunskap i hur en processmodells tillämpning vid en webbyrås interna tjänsteproduktion inom ett större projekt kan bidra till förbättringar för att hinna med i den medietekniska utvecklingens framkant. Studien använder sig av kvalitativa intervjuer med medarbetare samt Dicander Alexanderssons processmodell med processkartläggning för analys och en diskussion. Resultatet visar ett samband mellan att arbeta med processmodeller inom webbyråer kan bidra med förbättringar då problem lyckades identifieras samt att en del av medarbetare redan arbetade med privata modeller. I diskussionen framgick oväntade aktiviteter som annars inte identifierats med vare sig analys eller Dicander Alexanderssons processmodell. På grund av tidsbrister, stress och korta uppföljningsmöten visar det sig vara svårt att hålla sig i utvecklingens framkant. Men genom att analysera tjänsteproduktionen en gång i månaden med en modell för att se om problem lokaliseras i de varierande projekten kan bidra till förbättringar. Det svåra med att förlita sig på en modell är på grund av den stora variationen i projekt som skedde inom företagen. En processmodell tar däremot upp de problem som medarbetarna uppfattade som viktigast på byråarna.<br>Today's web agencies are in a constant battle to stay in the forefront. The digital society is changing and private persons can easily create their own websites. Web developers are expected to deliver services of high quality that requires great experience and knowledge. So how do the web agencies stay at the cutting edge of technologies? Larger companies choose to work along process management using models to enhance the quality of their production. For a web agency it can be seen as difficult as no projects usually are the same. The study aims to contribute to increased knowledge of how a process model functions at a web agencie’s internal production and how it can contribute to improvements to keep up with the media forefront of technological development. The study uses qualitative interviews with employees as well as Dicander Alexandersson’s process model with process mapping for analysis and discussion. The results show a correlation between working with process models in web agencies. Areas for improvements were identified and some of the employees were already working with private models. The discussion showed unexpected problems that would be hard to localize without using analysis with Dicander Alexandersson’s process model. The results showed that due to time gaps and short follow-up meetings, it was difficult to stay at the cutting edge of technology through a simple model. But to analyze the production of services once a month with a model to see if the problems are located throughout the various projects that appear would work as beneficial. The difficulty with relying on a model for the web agencies is because of the wide variety of projects that took place within the companies. A process model, however, took up the problems that employees perceived as most important.

Even if many companies constantly strives for an improved productivity there is often potential for improvements where an amended work procedure may be the answer. Purpose: The study’s purpose is to describe Staples current productivity and identify waste within the automated ”pick and pack” process with help of a process map.  With the identified wastes improvements will be suggested to reach productivity improvements. At least the study to find to which extent a buffer function can improve productivity in an automated ”pick and pack” process. Method: This study is a case study at Staples. Data has been collected by unstructured and semi structured interviews and participant observations. The aim of the study is to purpose improvements within productivity by improvements suggestions and to show how productivity potential may increase by changing the work procedure and by view the process as one mutual process by a test, measurements and calculations. Conclusions: A buffer function can with changes in the work procedure conduct to productivity improvements. Therefore, this research’s aim is to develop a new type of scaffolds. Through using the software “ANSYS,” the load-carrying capacity between traditional and new type of steel scaffolds can be analyzed and compared. The improved steel scaffolds, which a new member is added horizontally in the bottom, can solve the problem of lateral supports. As a result, the load-carrying capacity may enhance 1.11 to 2.47 times than before with the increasing number of story. The failure mode of the scaffolds shifts from the traditional in-plane direction to the improved out-of-plane direction. In this way, each story of the improved scaffold system becomes exactly the same powerful. Instead of the damage of the first story often seen in the traditional type, the phenomenon of buckling happens in every story at the same time. To sum up, the improved steel scaffold in this thesis can be considered as a reference to the modification of Taiwan’s traditional steel scaffolds.

The current situation for on-line game industries in Taiwan can be illustrated as matured market, flat membership growth. Therefore, how to find out feasible quality of on-game for strengthening game attractiveness under the above premises is central to this research.For get the maximum source and time effect, we choice Open-Beta stage in on-line game, and Use an on-line game survey would be conducted for player through online questionnaire. There were 600 people replied it, including 595 effective ones. The effective rate is 99.16%.     The study applies Kano’s model to classify quality attributes as must-be quality, one-dimensional quality, attractive quality, indifferent quality and reverse quality. The results of this study has show that (1)22 items are classified as one-dimensional quality, 18 items are classified as indifferent quality, 1 item are classified as reverse quality. There are not any must-be quality and attractive quality. Consumers are the most pay much attention on character setting in product content, and the most pay attention on system quality in service.(2)There are statistically significant differences between customers with different demographics and on-line game experience for some quality attributes.(3)Consumers are the most pay attention on service more than product content.(4)This study uses quality improvement index to make a list for industrial circles.

We separated those schools into urban and country ones by its location which lies in the urban plan area or not, and set the comparison standard in accordance with its density of students, school building coverage and the area proportion of water retention methods, examining if there was any difference between urban and country schools because of rural-urban disparity. Furthermore, we compared the results with other research of different administrative areas in Taiwan in order to discuss the difference of water retention possibly referring to the level of urbanization, and reviewed water retention performance of the outstanding schools from sustainable campus competition. The result found that water retention performance of two sustainable campus outstanding schools was better than other eight elementary schools, the water retention area proportion of urban schools was less than country schools, and also found that the higher values of student density and school building coverage, the less area of facilities for water retention and less value of water retention in its site. The schools in New Taipei City perform relatively worse in factors of water permeability and water retention value than the other regions in Taiwan, and should continuing their improvement consequently. We also found the sports fields of three schools which were not qualified in water retention value were paved with impermeable materials; therefore, we simulate them by changing into permeable paving and the water retention value of two schools among them were higher than the official standard, which shows that using permeable materials for sports fields paving will substantially increase the effects of water retention in campus. Concluding results above, the study considers that according to the benchmarks of well performance with those outstanding sustainable campuses, high proportion of permeable paving in campuses will improve water retention performance of the entire city. Urban schools with higher values of student density and school building coverage should change their impermeable paving into permeable materials or revive into green fields, furthermore, recover the permeability of sports ground in an appropriate degree to improve water resource recycling problems in cities.

It is afraid that the crack of metals parts or accessories will unexpectedly occur at any time. Therefore, it is the subject of the study to analyze the potential reasons of the crack of metal accessories in helicopters by using fishbone diagram and Fault Tree Analysis techniques. By literature review and soliciting experts opinions, a fishbone diagram shows there are six categories or 12 factors which cause the crack of metal: 1)machine-2 factors,2)human-2 factors,3)management-2 factors,4)methods-1 factors,5)material-3 factors, and the last 6)others-2 factors. In addition, by relating these factors, an FTA diagram is constructed and further, Boolean algebra is employed to get several important points. The most probable factor of causing cracks is “material,” which takes most frequency of occurrences of cracks. That means, if the factor “material” is controlled, the probability of occurrence of crack will significantly be reduced. Further, if the second factor, machine and human, can be solved simultaneously, no crack will occur. Besides, the study also focuses on the problems of nut brackets and glare shields. The study proposes suggestions so that problems can be improved. On the aspect of nut brackets, when jacking lever, the study recommends that a leader had better orders to make both technicians be able to slowly put pressure on jack, which could protect nut brackets from the crack causing stress concentration or uneven pressure on the wake of suddenly going up and down. On the other hand, the study also suggests that adding rubber packing between washer and glare shield. Because rubber packing is soft, it enables to absorb the shake of helicopter and reduce the friction between glare shield and washer. This way will decrease the probability of crack. It is expected that the conclusions will be helpful in preventing the helicopter from occurrence of crack in advance.

In many collaborative cases of horizontal alliances, they let the existing payment methods are not only payment by aggregating the advantages of electronic payment and electronic ticket. It can be seen that third-party payment is a variant of the transaction medium in the Internet era, and it is also one of the elements for the mature development of the e-commerce industry. The smart phone devices flood the money into itself to let people can trade by one phone in hand. Shopping behavior has become more life-oriented and has become a part of life. Even so, the development of third-party payment in Taiwan is still limited by consumption habits and regulations. This study mainly discusses the analysis and improvement suggestions for the development of third-party payment in Taiwan, from e-commerce development, consumer payment habits to electronic payment regulations. Explore the advantages, disadvantages and existing difficulties and challenges with the marketing and integration aspects. In terms of research, the paper analyzes the development history and operation mode, and uses the marketing 4C theoretical framework to dismantle the current development challenges. In addition, through the actual interviews of bankers and related operators, analyzes the payment flow industry with the bank as the essence. With the case of LINE pay in Taiwan, the status of the comparison is discussed simultaneously. The research found that the popular payment type and third-party payment will still coexist for a long time and will be in a competitive relationship until the development reaches a balance. Furthermore, the third-party payment development time will be longer and limited due to the perfect financial mechanism. It could not completely replace the original habits of consumers and achieve the existing governance objectives. The focus in the next few years will be multi-scenario marketing, the integration of the industry chain from online to offline and even mobile app interface and the promotion of cross-border payment. For the regulations of third-party payment can be refined in detail and revised to meet the needs of Taiwan&apos;&apos;s environmental development.

Besides, improvement suggestions are proposed for the reference of Kaohsiung MRT system to enhance the present service quality and as indicators for future service quality when new routes are planned. First, the researcher adopts the Service Quality Model by Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry, to establish the quality assessment for the Kaohsiung MRT System. Secondly, a questionnaire survey is conducted. On the basis of the effective sample materials, the researcher adopts the Factor Analysis Approach to determine factors influencing the Kaohsiung MRT service quality and the services involved. The researcher then combines the above findings with the customer requirements in the House of Quality to identify the priority of service improvement on the basis of the Quality Attribute Ranking. Then, the engineering requirements in the House of Quality are established according to the service indicators of the Kaohsiung MRT operation, expert interviews and the practice of previous studies. Besides, a questionnaire survey of experts is conducted to establish a matrix of the relationship between customer requirements and engineering requirements. Finally, Gray Relational Analysis is adopted to identify the priority of the engineering requirements. Results of this study show that the services demanding immediate improvement in the Kaohsiung MRT System are 1) the enhancement of passenger safety during night travel; 2) adequate safety facilities in the stations; 3) clear entrance and exit signs inside the station and helpful for effective evacuation of passengers; 4) immediate ability of the MRT staff to solve problems for passengers; 5) sufficient barrier-free facilities accessible in the stations and trains for the mobility impaired. In addition, the top five engineering requirements in the Kaohsiung MRT system are 1) care for the passengers; 2) casualty rate; 3) depot employee service quality; 4) signs and information available rate; 5) accident rate. This study further proposes improvement advices for the above services: 1) extend the operating hours of the service counters, and provide emergency pagers near the night-time waiting areas to enhance the passengers’ security at night; (2) regularly maintain the safety facilities in the stations to enhance their efficiency; signs and instructions be added to the fire-fighting equipment in case of emergency; (3) medical aid and disaster simulation be announced to the public to raise public confidence in the MRT’s ability to respond to emergency; (4) improve the service personnel’s professional training and communication skills, especially the language training, to meet the diverse needs of passengers and help solve passengers’ problems immediately; (5) strengthen passenger education about the courtesy to the mobility impaired, whom the service personnel are also required to actively assist.

It consists of four kinds of identity members including military, police, civilian and customs. Due to the organic law, the members of different identity can’t interflow with each other. They are serving in different apparatuses, causing many problems. In recent years, the organization changes constantly in order to unify the ocean and coast. Bringing into maximum effectiveness and accomplishing the missions successfully. Nevertheless, the organic law is not amended, it’s hard to conform with the legal norms. The position of Coast Guard Apparatus in a country is a security apparatus to execute the domestic administrative law, and a flexible role to safeguard sovereignty. It’s not like the Navy which has a strong contend meaning between the sovereignty of countries. So the Coast Guard Administration plays an important role, its organization and system should be more perfect to carry out the missions successfully. The members should have professional skills training and legal literacy. Therefore, it’s necessary to discuss and research the human resources and the development of educational training in the Coast Guard Administration. This research is explaining the existing condition of the manpower development training and educational training systems in the Coast Guard Administration, especially for the organization history, statutory missions and introductions of educational training system in order to explore the weaknesses of the current system of educational training. It also compares our system with The United States Coast Guard and Japan Coast Guard to reveal the problems or the points need to be improved, bringing the superficial suggestion in this research. In recent years, the Coast Guard Administration cooperate the government policy to carry out volunteer military, expanding the recruitment of manpower. The main recruiting targets in our Coast Guard military are soldiers and professional officers, also the basic main forces and leading cadres. Nonetheless, the recruitment is ineffective and quality is not good. The pre-employment training of new staff, the development and education system is not perfect. The high-intermediate class officers, also the educational cadres, are limited to the maximum years of decommissioning, and the organization can’t fully make use of them. All above problems exist in the educational training system. This research will point out the core of problems. Hoping the government can deliberate with them in order to build a brand new Coast Guard Administration. The Coast Guard Apparatus need a complete authority by the organizational structure law, an exclusive appointment regulation for the Coast Guard Administration, a unified educational training institution and employment way. It must be able to move forward to the vision and mission of apparatuses under the complete system.

Croatian tourism is growing rapidly in the last couple of years. But it has been recorded that one of the biggest problems is seasonality of a destination and the importance of positioning Croatia as a year-round destination is of highly importance, as the Croatian Minister of Tourism Gari Cappeli said. Croatian economy is too dependent on tourism and it is too risky not to have precise strategical goals. Millennials are the presence and the future of traveling segment for any destination. Thus, it is important to research which drivers influence their choice of specific travel destination in a certain period of year. More than 45% of targeted population mentioned that they are not interested in Croatia in an off-season period (Chart 22, Appendix A) and the mission of this thesis is to provide information which motivators influence their decision to specify the strategies for the future tourism of Croatia. This study attempts to explore the association between these motivators: perception of safety, perception of good airlines connection, climate conditions, positive e-WOM, social media activity with the attractiveness of Croatia as a tourist destination. The findings of an online survey indicate that for the targeted population good climate conditions were in a moderate association with attractiveness of Croatia and the rest of the tested motivators were not significantly related to attractiveness. We have also discovered that social media engagement of consumers is strongly dependent on social media activity of Croatia as a destination. These results give us great space to manipulate targeted populations' interest in Croatia as a destination and to model specific strategical goals for the future of Croatian tourism.<br>O turismo na Croácia tem crescido rapidamente nos últimos anos. Mas é de salientar que um dos maiores problemas é a sazonalidade do destino e a importância de posicionar a Croácia como um destino para o ano inteiro, como disse Gari Cappeli, ministro croata do turismo. A economia da Croácia está muito dependente do turismo, por isso é demasiado arriscado não estabelecer objetivos estratégicos precisos. Por esse motivo, é importante estudar os principais factores para a escolha de um destino de viagem específico numa certa altura do ano. Mais de 45% do público alvo mencionou que não estão interessadas no destino da Croácia, no período de época baixa (Gráfico 2, Apêndice A). A missão desta tese é fornece informação sobre que motivos influenciam as decisões do público, para estabelecer estratégias específicas para o futuro do turismo da Croácia. Este estudo pretende explorar a associação entre estes fatores motivacionais: percepção de segurança, percepção de boas conexões aéreas, condições climatéricas, e-WOM positivo, atividade em social media com a atractividade da Croácia como destino turístico. As conclusões de um questionário online indicaram que para o público alvo, as condições climáticas têm uma associação moderada com a atratividade da Croácia, enquanto o resto dos fatores motivacionais não estão significativamente relacionados com a atratividade. Outra das conclusões foi que o engagement em social media dos consumidores depende significativamente da atividade em social media da Croácia, como destino. Estes resultados indicam uma grande possibilidade para manipular o interesse do público-alvo como um destino e para estabelecer metas estratégicas específicas para o futuro turismo na Croácia.

碩士<br>國立海洋大學<br>食品科學系<br>87<br>The most popular squid products on markets are dried squid, alkali rehydrated dried squid, seasoned shredded and sliced squid products. The aerobic plate count (APC) in dried squids were 4.32-7.79 log (CFU/g) and microbial groups such as coliforms (66.67%), Vibrio (66.67%), Pseudomonas (100%), yeast and mold (77.78%) could be observed in this investigation. The APC of alkali rehydrated dried squids from traditional markets and supermarkets were 9.40-10.00 and 5.13-10.58 log (CFU/g), respectively. And also microbial groups of coliforms, Pseudomonas, Vibrio, Salmonella, also well as yeast and mold could be identified in these samples. The best sanitation condition of alkali rehydrated dried squids could be observed by freezing during storage and saling. And refrigeration and room temperature conditions for storage and saling were less acceptable than the condition by order. The results of the simulation experiment of the alkali rehydration processing for the dried squid indicated that the longer the time of water washing, the worse the sanitory quality of the samples. Therefore, the dried squid should limit its washing treatment for 12-24 hr (as its pH approaching 7.0), and then put into -18oC condition for saling to keep it under good quality and sanitation. The percentages of samples of marketed seasoned shredded and sliced squid products that did not fit the sanitory standard were 25.00%. Major microflora of these unqualified products (with higher APC) included coliforms, Pseudomonas, lactic acid bacteria (LAB), as well as yeast and mold. The result from investigation of seasoned shredded squid processing showed that the contaminated microorganisms including Pseudomonas, LAB, as well as yeast and mold were present in raw materials examined. The microbial loads increase gradually (1.00-1.40 log CFU/g) as the seasoned shredded squid processing, which as stages of cooling, first seasoning, drying, and pressing. The major microflora observed during this processing included Pseudomonas, LAB, and yeast and mold. In order to improving the quality of such squid products, the suggestions followed could be conducted such as controlling sanitory quality of the cooling water and the seasoning solution, utilizing higher drying temperature and longer drying period to reducing the microbial load, and employing UV light to control the microbial contaminations of the spaces for raw material handling, processing, and packaging. The results obtained from the simulated storage experiment of seasoned shredded squid products showed that less browning effect while them were stored at 4oC and 15oC. But the APC of these products was in the range of 3.00-6.40 log (CFU/g). As to the shredded squid products stored at 25oC and 35oC, their APC were located in 3.00-5.60 log (CFU/g), which present a better sanitation condition, although the browing effect on the seasoned squid products. Also, to prevent the lose of moisture and to avoid the significant browning results, seasoned squid products should stored at room temperature and not allowed directly sunshine on it.
