Abstract:

Este artigo estuda as cartas de vida de Ina von Binzer, uma imigrante alemã no Brasil. O objetivo geral é analisar os conceitos de Ina acerca de sua experiência no Brasil. Os objetivos específicos foram contextualizar a Europa e o Brasil no final do século XIX, e compreender os desafios registrados. A pesquisa apoia-se nos estudos de Fausto (1995); Hobsbawm (2016); Chartier (2002); Renk (2004); e Ramos (2011). Pautou-se na análise de Bardin (2011) para dispor a narração. Os resultados são que Ina retratou seus desafios como: “romanos” aqui viventes, e sua adaptação à cultura nova.
