This thesis examines the meaning of social inclusion and theorises what would be required to maximize the diversity that can be included into mainstream society while preserving social cohesion. The primary aim is to develop a coherent theoretical framework, identifying where scope to expand the mainstream may be found, as well as logical limitations and probable constraints. The implications for social policy design and delivery are then explored. The world’s population is changing rapidly. At the same time older workers are encouraged to continue being professionally active and younger workers face postponed and precarious entry to the world of work. Moreover, there is a growing problem of generational division (e.g., Shore, 2008) and skills shortage (Hertel, van der Heijden, de Lange, & Deller, 2013). Therefore, contemporary policy makers, companies and workers are facing a challenge of building a long-term productive and engaged age-diverse workforce. One way of adressing this issue is studying factors that contribute to age-neutral

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
This thesis explores the mechanisms underlying how team diversity and inclusion affect the product development and product commercialisation performance. Extant literature draws primarily on company boards and top management teams for evidence of the economic benefits of diversity. These findings are inconclusive. This research analyses ten management and delivery team combinations from two co-located strategic business units operating in an international medical technology company at one of their global R&D facilities based in Australia. The teams were responsible for the design, development

Knowles, Judie. "Diversity, inclusion and equality in practice placements : experiences of pre-registration student nurses with dyslexia." Thesis, London South Bank University, 2017. http://researchopen.lsbu.ac.uk/1994/.

Abstract:
The study of the perspectives of student nurses with dyslexia has an under-represented knowledge base as this is a relatively new branch of nursing educational research. While researchers have suggested that those with dyslexia experience deficits of executive functionality within practice placements, one outstanding area for exploration is the student nurses’ own lived-experience of the challenges faced in this context. Using mixed-methods my study investigated this phenomenon. I replicated some earlier studies examining the students’ perception of the practice mentor’s provision for learning

Abstract:
<p> There is a difference between diversity and inclusion in the workforce. More specifically, there is a difference in the understanding and experience that the U.S. cultural meaning of these words creates when interpreted and applied in a workplace setting. Understanding this difference is essential to the work businesses do in actualizing human capital as well as in creating and interpreting methods of providing access, recognizing diversity, and now, increasingly, moving towards a rhetoric of inclusion in the workplace (Roberson, 2006). This research looks at the existing body of knowledge
